Return of Ban The Person Above You Casual Discussion
The rules are simple … ban the person above you for a silly reason. @DoGodsBidding1 is banned because he wanted this game revived

We have been having a very moist year. First record snow falls and now rain. I think it is God’s tears for His people

Happy Happy Pentecost Sunday…! 👼
I wound up proclaiming both the first and second readings at my parish’s 11:00 Pentecost Mass. I was originally scheduled for last Sunday (the 2nd), but was out of town. When someone asked for a sub for the second reading this Sunday, I jumped on it. Then when I got there, the first reader didn’t show. I had only prepped the second reading, so I went in cold on the first. I thought I did pretty well, and I got a few compliments. Thanks to the Holy Spirit for the assist. 😉

@MrZoom Love recycling. Where we recycle they accept most everything. They however no longer accept plastic bags from stores. No problem. The local Wal-Mart does.

Hi! I don’t want this thread to die either.

I’m a lurker here, but I like seeing the little “latest post” icon, and chipping in very occasionally.

My news is that I’ve had a very big 60th birthday party in Canberra (Australia), and I’m having a bit of a break from parish work. I’m in the choir, which goes into recess in the winter months of July and August, and I’ve also asked for my reading and commentator committments to be cut back. The lady making the roster understood perfectly and thanked me for contributing for so long.

Funny how most people just turn up week after week, year after year, without ever wanting to contribute. Most are too shy to stand up front, I think, and I suspect that Australian men think it’s “unmanly”. That’s all fine. Just an observation.

Where would our parishes be without the selfless giving of those like you. Thank you. A belated happy birthday. If July and August is your winter, when is summer. It is very hot here. The fans were all going. It was nice as I didn’t think Summer would ever come.

Thankyou @hope, for the parish “thanks” and birthday wishes. 😃

Our summer is officially December, January, February. We are one of the few nations which uses calendar months rather than the solstices, so it’s still officially “Autumn” (for one more day).

Most of Australia doesn’t get a cold winter compared with the US. Frosts are rare, and a jumper will usually be enough for outside. But we do get a winter!

When we had this discussion over in the Mudgies it was less cordial, and much longer…😂 (take note, @gertabelle and @christofirst!)

Hmph. 👵🚬 I dare you to come to Colorado and say that to my face, ya old curmudgeon.
