Another Host on eBay (4/28)

Today (4/29/05) appeared Ebay item # 6174833383 claims to be a host consecrated by JPII. I have filed a complaint with Ebay please also do what you can!

It amazes me that our Lord not only humbles himself to the point of food for us, but in such a defenseless way that he can be abused to the point of being bought and sold.
 
What does this seller mean by this:

If you really are a catholic you would safe this item.
 
The dolt can’t even spell correctly. To me, this is a clear attempt at extortion.

I wonder if we all e-mailed him to ask him for a Certificate of Authenticity re: consecration. Think he could get trapped into making a false statement that could be forwarded onto Evil-bay? We all know that’s not possible.

At any rate, it’s extortion, and if Evil-bay is willing to put up with persecuting Catholics by allowing extortion to continue, too bad a class action suit can’t be leveled against them.

If all catholics were to inite, and send letters, and emails upset about all this to these people, that would make what? Millions of people? Well then this with BOYCOTTS?

It doesn’t surprise me that there are anti-Catholics out there who will do this. What does surprise me is that a multi-billion dollar publicaly traded corporation like Ebay will let this continue. Surely after all of the protests their serior management must be knowledgeable of the Catholic position on the nature of consecrated hosts.

Do your suppose there are people in leadership positions at Ebay who consider abuse of Catholics and their Church to be worth the loss of revenue. I wonder who these people are?
 
I wish the Catholic Church would sue e-bay for selling stolen hosts! This makes me sick and shows how low our society has sunk. If Christians do not start speaking out more about their beliefs it will continue to decline!

Me too,they are basically holding our Lord for ransome:mad: And incouraging further thefts with our current Pope:mad:
 
Thank you for posting the boycott link. I have not used ebay since the original sale of the Eucharist but had continued to maintain my ID there. I had still expected the sale to be banned but here we are again. I’ve written them a complaint. If the response is anything other than the ban on selling Eucharists, I’m cancelling my account. The most recent listing is disgusting. The person clearly states that the reason for their listing is to bait Catholics into bidding to “save” the Host. Can you imagine getting away with doing that to a minority group? No one would stand for that!
 
When I cancelled my account after the last episode and I did not get any satisfaction, they did send this email to me, I thought it was rather threatening actually. I had always thought if they changed their policy that I would sign up again. They are really punishing us if we do that by not allowing us to sign up again. At any rate I did it and I have no recourse now. :

Update!They have removed the Host:clapping: I would suggest that we continue pressuring and complaining until the official change their policy is changed and hopefully an apology to Catholics:nope: Boycott until this is done.God bless

I told them goodbye as spending eternity in HELL because I made no effort to stop your evil ways isn’t worth ANYTHING I COULD BUY FROM EVILBAY.

I wrote as you asked. Coverage of the e-bay host sale has been good up here. I definitely think the Catholic League should be persuaded to launch a law suit. These e-bay people just seem to be taking us for fools. This is a horrendous injury to us. Law suits seem to be the way to go in millenium America. But the shoe will be on another foot now. Our foot.

This link came up as invalid. Does that mean the host was taken off ebay? It seems to indicate that the item has been removed. I pray to God that its been removed. :gopray2:

Just want to say I am Malankara Catholic, Catholic not Orthodox…

Here’s my solution, mandate Communion by tongue only until this stops. Do NOT buy these Hosts. Christ can and will handle Himself. Do NOT perpetuate this by buying them over and over. It is akin to paying slaveowners to prevent slavery, it doesn’t work.
 
On another thread, one of our members checked it out and found that the person (in Finland) who was selling the Host today not only had his auction cancelled but he is listed now as “not a registered user”! If those who protested ebay by cancelling their accounts can’t rejoin with the same user identification, surely this seller can’t rejoin and try to sell the Host again! :clapping:
