Yes, I can certainly tell from her accent that she doesn’t sound entirely American, although she may also have quite a strong regional accent. She sounds like she came originally from somewhere in sub-Saharan Africa (or possibly her parents came from Africa and she grew up with their accent, as sometimes also happens with white people who are the first generation born in the US). Unfortunately, the only part of Africa where I can recognize the local accent is South Africa, and she doesn’t sound South African.
I would say that anyone who is an American citizen who is of African descent could reasonably be called an African American. Barack Obama is usually called an African American on the basis that his father was Kenyan. People sometimes talk about Haitian Americans, Jamaican Americans, etc., but I would say that these are subsets of African Americans, since all black people do originally come from Africa. I certainly wouldn’t say that somebody’s ancestors had to have been brought to north America in chains to be entitled to call themselves African American!
As for accents, obviously you can tell if somebody is a recent immigrant. But beyond that you can’t tell whether somebody’s ancestors were slaves just from their accent. In my family, for example, we have something like half a dozen generations born free, so it’s unlikely that we would speak any differently than somebody whose ancestors immigrated to the US after the Civil War. Just like with white people you can’t tell from their accent where in Europe their ancestors came from (with the exception of some very isolated communities).
As for how some Christians respond to these situations, I am not entirely surprised. There are quite a lot of racist Christians, and a lot of Christians who think that being right-wing/conservative is basically the same thing as being a Christian. They are usually somewhat paranoid about leftism/socialism/communism, liberalism, feminism, identity politics, the sexual revolution, political correctness, gender ideology and the homosexual agenda, illegal immigration, and the imminent collapse of western civilization. Thankfully, I meet them mostly online.

This latest example of death by cop is indicative of a systemic problem and isn’t likely a case of one rogue cop. The numbers of cops wrongfully killing civilians is just too many to ignore.
There was a case where a young woman was shot and killed by cops who burst into her home in the middle of the night. Turns out they were in the wrong house. The house they wanted was clear across town.
The training and hiring of police not just in Minnesota but nation wide, should be scrutinized.
It’s like the police are trained to see the public as an enemy and not the people they are supposed to serve and protect.

Riots could possibly have a positive impact, they may be warranted at times but I think just as easily, some have had terrible impacts.
