It’s next to impossible to spend any money these days with a company that is supporting or donating money to (evil) organization(s)…BTW, thanks for trying to hijack what should be a pretty cool thread.
Sorry for my part in the hijakcing.

And it is almost impossible to get a job with a company that doesn’t support evil.

On the record, I think The D.M. Band rocks - he is an amazing musician (evidenced by the rip off style of grammy winner, John Mayer.)

So supporting this with your money wouldn’t bother you?

He says, “Bands are preaching hate-promoting racism against poor people worldwide, genocide in the name of family planning, and domestic baby killing–all under the mythical banner of ‘choice.’” Kemper adds, “It’s a shame that bands provide a platform for Planned Parenthood, an organization not only responsible for the deaths of millions of babies, but founded on the ideology of racism and on genocidal activism.”

You’re fine, I didn’t see trying to hijack the thread.

TarAshly,

I soooo feel for you. I had my DMB CDs - including the Lillywhite Sessions, live performances, and the studio albums - stolen not once, but TWICE! I cried my eyes out both times. Music is my life and someone stole my “blood” from me. I was also upset because they stole all my Pink Floyd CDs too, amongst others.

What’s your favorite DMB song? It’s hard to pick just one, but My favs are Spoon, Pig, Warehouse, Granny, One Sweet World, Dreaming Tree, and #41. I’m sure I missed a few, but these are the ones I never get tired of.

i guess if i had to chose it word be “cry Freedom” or #41. i love Some Devil though, “save me Mr. Walking man” really touched me. and on the new one i love American Baby and what it stands for!

8/23/00, 10 a.m. ET) - [Santana](http://music.yahoo.com/read/news/12046456), No Doubt, and the Dave Matthews Band have all been called “racist” and “genocidal” by the anti-abortion group Rock For Life. These bands, along with the Van’s Warped Tour (which is owned by LAUNCH Media), have been cited for their support of Planned Parenthood, a group that Bryan Kemper of Rock For Life claims is responsible for “racist and genocidal attacks against minorities, both domestically and abroad,” according to a statement released yesterday (August 22).

Kemper notes that all of the above support Planned Parenthood’s VOX program, which tries to get fans and concertgoers to back candidates who support federal spending for foreign and domestic population control.
I would also ask you to consider some lyrics from his newest song American Baby. hes discussing how Americans have lost their values, that its become all about who has the biggest toys, whos butt we can kick and what not. the most powerful line in it for me is " Nobody’s laughing now, God’s Grace is lost and the Devil is proud, i hold on to you, you bring me hope, i’ll see you soon, and if i dont see you soon, then im afraid we’ve lost our way." to me hes speaking to God, to bring him hope in this dark time in America, where everything is hate, death and war. thats just my interpretation of it after hearing the song, and daves explanation of the song.

**[Rock for Life calls for boycott of musicians touring to promote abortion on demand](http://www.catholicnewsagency.com/showarchive.php?date=2004-08-12)**
Washington DC, August 12, 2004 (CNA) - A pro-life group is challenging a grassroots group that has launched a concert tour in an effort to defeat President George W. Bush in the upcoming election.

The American Life League’s Rock for Life is calling for a boycott of artists like Bruce Springsteen, the Dixie Chicks, Pearl Jam and the Dave Matthews band, who are taking part in MoveOn.org’s “Vote for Change” concert tour.

Erik Whittington, director of American Life League’s Rock for Life, said musicians on the “Vote for Change” tour say they are promoting change, but they actually, “pride themselves on being counter-cultural, [and] are working to maintain the status quo: abortion on demand,” reported Cybercast News Service.

Whittington said: “Real change will only come when all Americans – celebrities and average citizens alike – are willing to stand up to protect preborn babies from violence of abortion.”

Rock for Life is organizing youth activists to protest the “Vote for Change” tour and to raise awareness about the truth of abortion. They are also urging young people to stop supporting these artists by not buying their CDs or concert tickets “until they stop advocating the destruction of our generation.”

I like “Ants Marching”. I can’t stand “Crash Into Me”.

AMERICAN LIFE LEAGUE NEWSROOM - Dave Matthews

…Monday’s concert will feature some of the most vocal pro-abortion artists participating in the Vote for Change tour. Many of these groups and individuals, including Pearl Jam, the Dixie Chicks and the Dave Matthews Band, have been outspoken abortion advocates, especially during this election year. “Abortion supporters always talk about the right to choose; yet they blatantly reject the rights of society’s most vulnerable human beings,” said Whittington. “America’s youth really understands this and are increasingly more pro-life now than ever before.”

[Rock For Life victory vs. PP]()

WASHINGTON–(COLLEGIATE PRESS-WIRE)-Apr. 20, 2001–Rock For Life is claiming a major victory at the University of Virginia. College regulations will block Planned Parenthood’s effort to distribute condoms and pro-abortion literature at tomorrow’s Dave Matthews Band concert. Earlier today, Rock For Life spoke with university officials, who reaffirmed a policy that prohibits solicitations in or around the stadium. ‘‘The Dave Matthews Band agreed that because of this policy, Planned Parenthood should not distribute condoms or other materials at the concert, so they will not,’’ said Louise Dudley of the University of Virginia.

Despite the fact that the university will not allow the condom distribution, Planned Parenthood continued its misleading media campaign throughout this week, boasting that it would hand out 50,000 condoms at the show. This morning, however, Glen Mones of Planned Parenthood admitted to Rock For Life director Bryan Kemper that Planned Parenthood would not be distributing condoms at the concert.

‘‘Planned Parenthood pushes their lies on young people and advances a culture of death, but Rock For Life will never stop our fight to end this destruction of life,’’ said Kemper. ‘‘There is a strong core of young people standing up against organizations like Planned Parenthood, and they are committed to bring-ing and end to the slaughter of over one-third of their generation.’’

‘‘Rock For Life is pleased that the University of Virginia will not allow Planned Parenthood to dis-tribute condoms or literature,’’ said Kemper. ‘‘Rock For Life will continue its effort to oppose Planned Parenthood, exposing Planned Parenthood for what they really are.’’

Rock For Life is a project of American Life League that works closely with STOPP to fight Planned Parenthood.

ummm hes Catholic.

see his album Some Devil. hes a very spiritual man.

Also hes got the be the most NON racist human being ever. hes an amazing humanitarian.
CINO maybe. Certainly not orthodox. Don’t be misled by musicians and politicians calling themselves Catholic.

I like his music – turn up the radio when it comes on, but definitely not putting my dollars in his “agenda pocket” which, incidently, is his left one…

**How American Are We? **

an essay

Now one of the things I never liked about the Dave Matthews Band is their politics. Like many other musicians, they are pretty far-left liberals. Case in point: the entire band supported John Kerry in the last presidential election. Now I can deal with their politics to a great extent; for example, their last concert I went to featured Planned Parenthood out front handing out condoms and brochures (with the full knowledge and concent of the band.) Now sure, Planned Parenthood has propagated the idea that certain people don’t deserve to breed (see Margaret Sanger), but I can overlook that view to hear some good music.
