There will not be any pro-life Dem presidential candidates. It’s the party of abortion; that won’t change.

I agree with you about a Democratic ticket that reaches out to conservatives, and I agree that it’s not going to happen…

…UNLESS…

Pres. Trump and a large group of conservatives whips the pants off the Democrats AGAIN!

I wish that would happen, not only because I support Pres. Trump, but because I think such a drubbing would force the Democrats to examine their ultra-liberal strategy and adopt a more moderate platform.

Of course, some people don’t want to see a “wimpy” political party that kind of walks down the center of the road but doesn’t take a firm stand on anything. So perhaps my idea would be a dud.
The Dems would do well to reach out to both left and right to regain their status as the party of the working class.

Oh, I agree.

And they have to be careful about stereotyping the “working class.” Nowadays, some very intelligent young people are heading to the trade schools to learn a trade and earn a certificate that will be their ticket to a job that pays a good living wage with benefits, and doesn’t require them to sit at a bench or a desk all day. The days of big factories filled with farmer boys moved to the city and 1st generation immigrants and Southerners who moved North are gone.

A nice rundown on the Democratic Party candidates…
Well there’s 2:13 of my life I won’t get back.
Precisely what some of us experience when we listen to the new crop of Democrats speak.

The big difference is the video is quite innocuous, but there is a small possibility that one of these characters might end up governing the country.

That would mean 330 some million citizens would not “get back” their lives for four years.

The last pro life presidential candidate was George Wallace in 1976.
And that was before he had changed his ways and denounced his past racism and support for segregation (I think that was in 1979?)

Sargent Shriver, a part of the extended Kennedy clan, was pro-life and he was on the 1972 ticket as VP with George McGovern. I think McGovern’s first VP choice, who was replaced with Shriver, Thomas Eagleton, was also pro-life as well. I don’t think either of them stopped being pro-life.

A pro-life Democrat would NEVER make it to the primary because that would totally go against their platform. Judging by the facial expressions at the state of the union address, you probably cannot even oppose late-term abortion and make it into the primary. The new platform is unrestricted abortion up until and even during the moment of birth. It is an evil platform, anti-truth.

You’d be very hard pressed to find any pro-life Democrat these days, let alone one who is a Presidential candidate.

You won’t find any JFK Democrats nowadays, as they have all embraced Marxism and Socialism now.

Erased by poster. Probably a trifle off-topic.

Thomas Eagleton, was also pro-life as well. I don’t think either of them stopped being pro-life.
One hates to speak ill of the dead. Back when I was a Democrat, I was an Eagleton supporter, advance man and fund-raiser. I really did know him on a personal basis. Later, I parted with the party because I felt I could no longer be faithful to the teachings of the Church and the positions of the Dem party. Eagleton stayed with the party, but he was no longer in office, and so I didn’t think much of it. And then, when the amendment came up in Missouri allowing the cloning of the tissues of aborted babies for research, Eagleton supported it. Again, I was already out of the party, but that ended any respect I had for Tom Eagleton. He died very shortly after making that endorsement. I prayed for the repose of his soul.

I would encourage people to follow

If there is someone represented in that website who is running in your area, support them. Make a donation, host a fundraiser, volunteer time. Last year I seriously considered renting a residence and moving to a different congressional district so I could vote for a D4L candidate.

Full disclosure, I am not a Democrat voter nor am I liberal. What I am about to say is in no way ment as an insult to any of our Democrat brothers and sisters on this forum.
I grew up in a diverse home, as in my mom always voted for the Democrat candidates and my dad the Republican candidates. My grandfather, on my mom’s side, always voted Democrat and was a very pious Catholic and a member of the KofC. He passed away in 1982. I don’t believe today that my grandfather would vote for a Democrat candidate because of his pro life stance. I believe both parties have moved left and there are sadly not many of the old school Democrats left, the ones from my mother and grandfather’s era. Sad that during their last conventions the few remaining pro life Democrats left pretty much got shut out, I mean they were there but did not have much of a voice. Both parties back then were a lot more similar than what they are today, came down to how they basically spent money I suppose. Both were about morals, defense and what is best for our country. Sadly both parties are not what they once were. I stopped calling myself a Republican a long time ago.
I admire and respect the OP for trying to find the right candidates to vote for. That is what I do, look at their voting record and what their platform is. Weigh that with if I think they have a good chance of going to the general, for the pres.
I have certain issues that are non negotiable, protection of life being the top one. Regardless of what party if they are not pro life, and yes I realize even a number of the conservatives are not 100% pro-life, they won’t get my vote. I would rather vote for the candidate that is pro life than vote for a certain party member. Hope that helps. The other issue for me is a candidate that supports Constitutional rights.

What part of the GOP platform are you getting this from? I found the following, which is exactly the opposite position you described:
"We support maintaining and, if warranted, increasing sanctions, together with our allies, against Russia unless and until Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity are fully restored. We also support providing appropriate assistance to the armed forces of Ukraine and greater coordination with NATO defense planning. "
