There will not be any pro-life Dem presidential candidates. It’s the party of abortion; that won’t change.
The Dems would do well to reach out to both left and right to regain their status as the party of the working class.I agree with you about a Democratic ticket that reaches out to conservatives, and I agree that it’s not going to happen…
…UNLESS…
Pres. Trump and a large group of conservatives whips the pants off the Democrats AGAIN!
I wish that would happen, not only because I support Pres. Trump, but because I think such a drubbing would force the Democrats to examine their ultra-liberal strategy and adopt a more moderate platform.
Of course, some people don’t want to see a “wimpy” political party that kind of walks down the center of the road but doesn’t take a firm stand on anything. So perhaps my idea would be a dud.
Precisely what some of us experience when we listen to the new crop of Democrats speak.HarryStotle:![]()
Well there’s 2:13 of my life I won’t get back.A nice rundown on the Democratic Party candidates…
And that was before he had changed his ways and denounced his past racism and support for segregation (I think that was in 1979?)The last pro life presidential candidate was George Wallace in 1976.
Erased by poster. Probably a trifle off-topic.The Dems would do well to reach out to both left and right to regain their status as the party of the working class.
One hates to speak ill of the dead. Back when I was a Democrat, I was an Eagleton supporter, advance man and fund-raiser. I really did know him on a personal basis. Later, I parted with the party because I felt I could no longer be faithful to the teachings of the Church and the positions of the Dem party. Eagleton stayed with the party, but he was no longer in office, and so I didn’t think much of it. And then, when the amendment came up in Missouri allowing the cloning of the tissues of aborted babies for research, Eagleton supported it. Again, I was already out of the party, but that ended any respect I had for Tom Eagleton. He died very shortly after making that endorsement. I prayed for the repose of his soul.Thomas Eagleton, was also pro-life as well. I don’t think either of them stopped being pro-life.
