Married life is indeed one of the most noble callings! Especially when both members tirelessly push each other to salvation and sainthood.

I am a cradle Catholic, although my family is sadly only culturally Catholic (although my non Catholic father comes to Mass with me every Sunday but of course doesn’t receive communion).

Until a couple of years ago, I only attended Mass on Christmas Eve with my family.

My mother and siblings attend Mass more often because I sometimes make them…I’m still trying to get them to confession.

One would think that after all this time of contacting religious communities, it get would get less scary. Maybe that’s true for some of you, but not for me. I just emailed the vocation director for my archdiocese and I am thinking about emailing the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration. After years of being discouraged by people, I want to give up. Thank goodness I turn 18 next year! Then, I can finally become Catholic and be free.

Well I just turned 20 on the 22nd of December but I been discerning for about two years . Whether God is calling me to married life or priesthood . I have been on a few come and see with two religious orders . The Capuchins , Redemptorist .

Hey! I’m discerning a vocation to religious life too! I’m super interested in the teaching Dominicans. What order are you thinking about, if any?

Hi y’all! I am a college student also discerning. I am still really new at this and any advice is appreciated!

Hey! I’m also a college student. Maybe some advice could be spending time with God during His hour of mercy at 3 and trying to listen for His voice and pray for my vocation. I like to do this and usually pray the divine mercy chaplet or stations of the cross during this time.

I have not read this book, but the vocations director for my diocese recommended it to me. It is called “Discerning Religious Life” and it is by Mother Clare Matthiass. I also have to recommend going to Eucharistic Adoration whenever you can.

Thanks for the advice! What communities are you guys looking into?

I am looking into the Parish Visitors of Mary Immaculate, the Sisters of Life, and the Sisters of St. Joseph the Worker.

I think the Sisters of Life are so beautiful in their work and witness of the faith! I haven’t heard of the other two orders; can you tell me about them?

The Parish Visitors of Mary Immaculate are based in New York. One of their missions is going door-to-door to talk to lapsed Catholics and evangelize. They also work in parishes. The Sisters of St. Joseph the Worker are based in Kentucky. They are mainly teachers, but they also tend to needs of the community. Both communities are traditional.

very cool! What do you mean by traditional? Like they wear a habit or like they attend the TLM?

ok! Have you gone on a retreat with any of these communities yet??

Nope. I will when I start college though. I have talked to the vocations director for the Sisters of Life and I liked her.

Read an introduction to the devout life by St. Francis it’s a classic.
