Anyone notice the irony here: Catholics criticising Muslims and Islam on this forum

Well, some time ago I raised the question as to if it could not be possible that Muhammad could have mistaken some false revelation with what he thought to be the word of Allah. I wondered how he could tell one from the other. At the time, I was considering cases within the Catholic Church of canonized saints who happened to have had false revelations and thought for a time these were from God.
Was my question then considered insulting? Would it have been in some Muslims’ eyes even though it wasn’t meant to insult anybody?
 
dear mr.planten,you are also insulting us.cuz you say again and again that jesus was a prophet.you use some strange logic and maximum time you lost with inJESUS.you even couldn’t prove that jesus was prophet not god.without any proof if you will claim that jesus is a prophet cuz your muhammad said so.then wats wrong if we will claim that muhammed is a liar?&if we claim that he is a heretic man cuz he denied jesus as god then?1st prove ur quran
 
mr.planten,when we show any error of quran you try to explain it in ur own way.when we found those verses of quran then you also do so.some time you try to prove that jesus was dead but didn’t die on cross.when inJESUS reply you then you ignore.and you also you didn’t answer me&mr.agnos about inheritance law(whatever).what do you want to prove by editing quran?is it from god?if yes then why some verses are so contradictory that you try to edit?

Why?
Because many of us pick and choose our battles ,so many of us “battle” Islam. Its our choice.
Not all catholics care about it ,but some do and try to stop the lies it spreads to “their reverts”.
Sadly many Islam reverts DO NOT go in with eyes wide open; and later see the “truth” of Islam.
I am very happy to see many educated people here that can debunk islam and make it a point to battle that “Evil”.
 
mr.planten can you remember when our fellow inJESUS(he has very good logic)posted a reply then you laughably tried to prove that jesus was crucified but didn’t die on the cross!!u claimed that then allah raised him up when jesus crucified.(you told that its also death.)so you denied both claim of quran.if u edit quran then isn’t a prove that quran was written by a man?you always edit those violent verses of quran,that verses taught jihad
 
not all terrorists are Muslim, what about the Colombian rebels who kidnap westerners? they’re labelled as terrorists and yet, they ALL bless themselves before they say the Hail Mary.

We all all what Muslims call “people of the book”. This means we all follow the one God.

The tactics of Satan are completely visible in this global issue. He has employed the tactic of divide and conquer. He has us fighting each other to the point where we are starting to use his influence in dealing with others. The words against Muslims and other Christian beliefs I have seen recently written and spoken by Christians and Catholics have been loaded with HATE. We cannot hate, we must love God with all our hearts and our neighbour as ourselves.

Does this mean that we can only love neighbours who think like us? I don’t think this is what Jesus meant.

PLEASE STOP THE HATRED. We must not go to heaven to see the one God with any hate on our hearts.

since yesterday i saw that some christians are showing to much love toward islam.good.but its bad that they didn’t see any logical post.MAF 1st see some logical post.&if muslims belive in 1 true god then why don’t you belive also?muslim claims that trinity is 3 gods(!).so christians are wrong!but i want to say that jews never belive trinity then why muslims claim that jews are also wrong?actually muslims claim that except islam all are satanic
 
and MAF catholics don’t hate any1.but islam taught us hate with its violence.ya the violence of islam.some users(me also)gave the reference some verses of quran what clearly taught violence.but some muslims fellows are trying to edit those verses in their own way.

Terrorism for what its worth only kills people in limited numbers it is war, famine etc which kills in massive numbers.

E.g Vietnam and estimated 300,000 dead Vietnamese, thousands of innocents where the U.S dropped agent orange.

World War 2, genocide in Europe, against Jews 6 MILLION killed, millions others killed in warfare amongst christian nations…

The list goes on from the crusades to the genocides against native populations in North America, south America, Africa, australasia etc etc etc

Compared to all this modern day terrorism is a drop in the ocean of human history and human violence…

Whats that christian proverb “those without sin cast the first stone”…

When christians accuse Muslims of violence its almost an insult to intelligence if anything else, because we have the people with the most violent history accusing Muslims of being like them…

there are many violent verses in quran.but i didn’t find any violent verses in NT.i can’t tell about OT.cuz i didn’t read it yet.maybe other christian fellows will answer it.now i can give some reference of quran.sura9:5,29,38,39.those verses clearly teach violence.sam_777 gave many reference in a thread.i will also give you more reference.but don’t explain those verses in your own way.thanks

I tend to disagree, Rayyan! Slanderous calumny is a great sin, and just because somebody commits it toward you you don’t have to do “just” the same. It’s not so just anyway! If you don’t answer back, you would do even better. What they do is wrong, you don’t need to do the same thing, which would be wrong…

There are so many adherants to Catholicism that you are inevitably going to get folk representing just about every ideology.

In my experience lapsed Catholics are about as bad as people can get. I worked for a number of years in the Correctional Services and my experiences were that as a general rule of thumb: most practicing Catholics are kind, generous, empathic towards others and demonstrate great love and tolerance towards their fellow man and respect for all creation.

Sadly however, some of the worst people I have met have been lapsed Catholics. I have no idea why that is. It seems that when some people give up the faith they not only relinquish their allegiance to Christ but actually join forces with the opposite side.

It is also a fact that some people are corrupted by power over others and become greater abusers relative to the amount of power they have. In Nazi Germany those in authority wielded a lot of power and this inevitably led to grave abusers and crimes against humanity.

I believe anyone of any nationality and any religious belief, given absolute power and no moral controls, would unwittinly abuse it. Someone who lacks ability to be empathic is more likely to do so.

Well, I agree that we stop the hatred. even Jesus taught us to love our enemy. What the important is PEACE and if we hate each other, there will be no Peace

**I cannot see why it is an insult to the christians if I call Jesus as a prophet. The christians also believe that Jesus is a prophet. I say that he is a messenger of God. But I ask you about Jesus. Please tell if he is a prophet or not?

You seem to be new to the church as you may have left islam recently. I am on the forum for a long time and I see that all christians believe that Jesus was a prophet of God, unless there is a difference in the beliefs of the Protestants and Catholics in this respect.

If you are a Catholic then please tell exactly about Jesus. Is he a prophet or not? If he is not a prophet then I will not say that he is a prophet. Then you will also never say that Jesus was prophet. Welcome. Please reply.**

actualy brother planten i don’t know many things about christianity so i don’t answer those question.but i wanted to tell that you(muslims)deny jesus as god and think that he is just a prophet.if christians think that jesus is both prophet and god its ok.but i read in bible that jesus is son of god.and read catholic website that jesus was 100%god&100% man.(as a man maybe a prophet also i am not sure.)i read that jesus is true god from true god
 
and mr.planten when i was fed up with islami laws,then desperatly searching for god.read hindu scripture also.but when read NT(just gospels)then read about jesus’ miracle(only god can do that).then belived that he is god.but i am still learning.so if u will ask me about christianity then i am helpless cuz i can’t answer.i just can debate about islam but can’t about christianity.cuz i know few about christianity i told it before.thanks.
