If you read through the thread - there was the accusation about this - with the anti-Trumpers stating that they felt attacked by the supporters and vice versa …

I was merely pointing out that pleasant words denigrating the President also tar and feather his supporters … I have not seen the reverse as often and not as couched in ‘politeness’ … which is a huge complaint about Trump here , his good actions as President cannot erase the crudeness of his tweets

So if someone calls trump rude and arrogant (whether he is or isn’t) that statement automatically means his supporters are rude and arrogant?

Doesn’t really seem to follow

Do you have specific evidence of someone saying this to someone on CAF?
 dude, take the blinders off. I was called a racist numerous times on other threads for questioning parts of narratives. Oddly those posts weren’t deleted while mine were. The Pope link just happened the other day.

There are those on the right who dislike Trump.

They often do so for objectively poor reasons.

They’re also almost universally the the Romney/Ryan “hit me and I won’t complain”-losers who can’t win nationwide elections (or their supporters).

I’m not searching other threads to find accusations of racism during my usual time here. I feel very out of loop but being blamed for being part of “the liberal narrative”.

I’ll just take this opportunity to pray for others, on both sides of the political aisle. Turn the other cheek as it were. As I feel personally ridiculed for no reason, I’ll bow out from this thread.

More “trash the US”-stuff.

US political discourse is far better than that of, say, much of Europe - where countries have like 30 political parties, all of whom are at war with each other; where alliances are made and broken daily; and where ultimately nothing gets done.

I would not say that - it is when the poster goes after those who hold a different opinion about the president as illustrated by these examples:

“My advice is ignore them. There are some that treat any criticism of the President as if it were blasphemy.” Followed by …

“Yes. That’s how a conman works. He cons his followers into worshiping him.
Beware of false idols.”

I am sure you can find concrete examples on your side to illustrate where you were accused of blasphemy or worshiping a false god or some other offense … please feel free to to do so … then maybe we can improve the dialogue

Many of us would argue that ethics were objectively good reasons. And that what you call “strong” is what others call bullying.

However, as was pointed out earlier, none of this discussion is likely to be fruitful since we are clearly coming from very different value systems. Therefore, I shall wish you all a peaceful Sunday evening and put this thread on ignore.

God bless.

Nope. Stating that it is generally the state of political discourse in the US isn’t “trashing the US” to say so.
US political discourse is far better than that of, say, much of Europe - where countries have like 30 political parties, all of whom are at war with each other; where alliances are made and broken daily; and where ultimately nothing gets done.
I wasn’t comparing the situation in the US to the situation elsewhere, which isn’t relevant. I was commenting on the US. Whether the US political discourse is or isn’t “far better” than discourse elsewhere doesn’t mean it’s good here. The tactic of “look over there” isn’t going to work.

Lamenting the state of US politics most often amounts to a complaint of “not enough people agree with me.” Or even “too many people vehemently disagree with me.”

For far too long the so called “discourse” around here is “everyone trash Trump and his supporters.” . . .

Interestingly, that’s part of the appeal of Trump: Many Americans are sick of being punched and doing nothing in return, and why the effete Romney/Ryan crowd has lost much of America. Trump punches back.

Please go look up Church teaching on this and the definition of killing vs murder. Killings may be justifiable even in the positive if to save another life. This is why a police officer or anyone else for that matter may kill someone else who us hurting another innocent person even if one’s own life is not in danger.

That is what you have implied - that is the narrative you have established - words have meaning … and that implies he has replaced the One God we as Catholics profess
Like I said, I can’t control what people imply.

Correct! Everyone should praise and complement Dear Leader no matter what he does, as he was annointed to his position by the Divine Right of Kings and that darn First Amendment is an affront to his magnificent reign.
