Why would I do that? I’m supposed to confess my sins, not keep track of the sins of others.
Yeah, the sins of presidents don’t affect me getting to heaven. And if I judge a president’s sins, then I’m committing an additional sin of my own by judging.

Yes the total irresponsibility of holding a rally! People will get sick.

Hey what about all those protests?

Fortunately some will be spared exposure because of the dismal turnout for the outdoor overflow crowd…that event cancelled, and reports are they are still trying to fill the arena…and some people don’t like to see empty seats…the spin might be that spots were open for social distancing.

…And that person paralyzed and on a ventilator is a police officer.

I was very unhappy with anyone not wearing a mask or practicing social distancing at a protest.

But I also acknowledge the protests were in response to serious injustices, not a rah-rah for someone who already has the nomination.

Yeah viruses really respect good intentions and all that fun stuff.

Which candidate hasn’t broken any of the commandments? Is there one who hasn’t even broken most of them? Surely you don’t think Biden hasn’t, or perhaps Hillary had no sins in her past.

No, that’s not what I said. Protesters not wearing masks were in the wrong.

But Trump has called this rally to inflate his own ego, and it is in an enclosed space. He has suggested that people wearing masks “don’t like him,” which will lead to fewer people actually taking appropriate protective measures. There is a difference.

Anyone out without a mask who is closer than six feet to others is wrong. Anyone inviting thousands of people to a rally and stating they “don’t like him” if they’re wearing a mask is also wrong.

Does that mean I’m “wrong” if I stand outside alone in the middle of, say, my own 20-acre wide cornfield?

According to my social justice handbook the correct response is “you’re a filthy capitalist pig.”

Not necessarily. I follow the directions set forth by my Governor. I don’t need to wear a mask at all times. So, I don’t
Depends where you are—some governors are ignoring health experts’ recommendations, some are taking them seriously.

Plus, by casting aspersions on “anyone,” what you’re really saying is “my fears are more important than literally anything else you value.”

At some point people’s rights to live their lives are at least as valuable as, if not more important than, anyone else’s fears, particularly if those fears are excessive.

Yeah! Plus anyone who owns 20+ acres is automatically the aristocracy and thus wicked and evil in the eyes of some.

If you think those “fears” are excessive, you’re not listening to the almost universal consensus of health experts.

But that aside, how exactly is wearing something as simple as a bandana interfering with your right to live your life? At a level that the refusal to wear one endangers another person’s life?
