Archbishop Timothy Dolan appeared on Fox & Friends on Wednesday, 11/24. The link to the interview can be found below. Please watch it. Among other things, you will hear the Archbishop say the following.

“We’re grateful to God. We’re conscious that somebody - some - call it him or her or whatever you want, somebody beyond us is in charge.” - Archbishop Dolan

I am not surprised at all about this. soon or later it will come out.
 
Not only this him, her, whatever statement but in this same interview he praises Catholic schools without even mentioning that he is closing 32 of them. Notice that he also uses the peace and justice buzz words at the end of the interview. He reveals his colors every time he speaks. This video should be emailed to the Pope at BenedettoXVI@Vatican.Va. If enough people forward the information to the Vatican, perhaps sometime it will be effective. Is it too much to ask our Bishop to defend and protect our faith? :mad::confused:

It wont do any good. I hate to say this but when i first saw him at Benedict Groeschel interview, I knew then this was a very proud man. then I saw him again at the street of NY being friends with everybody. Friends with the world enemies of Christ. I am sorry to say that we have such a crisis today and for what I see God is going to have to raise Saints to save the Church just like He has done so many times. Just by the way he speaks, I could tell who he was. really there is no need to laugh so much. with the crisis and sufferings of the Church today, we should all be crying and beg God to forgive us and to show us the way back to Him. the only time I hear about the sufferings of Catholics around the world is when I go to the Latin Mass.

Archbishop Timothy Dolan spoke Wednesday on FOX noting that Thanksgiving was a time when people gave thanks to God, to him, her, or whatever you want, and give thanks. I am sickened by this. God and Jesus Christ is not a her or whatever. This is inexcusable for someone as trained in the faith as Archbishop must obviously be. This fits with what I have believed about the Catholic Conference for some time, that it is a prideful network of bishops who promote left wing agendas. God help the good bishops. I just didn’t think that it would require this short amount of time for Archbishop Dolan to reveal that he is not one of them.

Let’s talk about the nature of God. God transcends the human condition, God is divine. He is not a him or a her, so I can see the point that trying to refer to God in human terms is a bit anthropomorphic. So I can see his point. Here is what the Catholic Catechism says about the nature of God:

370 In no way is God in man’s image. He is neither man nor woman. God is pure spirit in which there is no place for the difference between the sexes. But the respective “perfections” of man and woman reflect something of the infinite perfection of God: those of a mother and those of a father and husband.

I think we need to get over ourselves and realize that there is Something out there that we cannot fully understand that is God. I think that is what he was trying to say. It sounds like a very good message to me.

He’s recognizing the rather obvious fact that not everyone who gives thanks on Thanksgiving Day is Catholic or even Christian.

Proclaiming the Gospel does not presuppose a need to validate or even acknowledge other peoples “faith”. We proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ because it is true and all other faiths are false. We should have no qualms about the obviousness of this fact.

He spoke of the Lord, of God and them him, her or whatever you want. I think he has an aversion to speaking the truth plainly. People don’t, neither can they, give thanks to that which is not God. God is referred to as the Father, Christ is a man and even the Holy Spirit is referred to as him. Where one is, so there are the other two. I am not going to play at words to defend what was an obvious error in judgement when speaking.

All too often, we allow ourselves to get excited and scandalized. This is not a license for others to cause scandal. The lesson that Francis wanted to teach was that one fault, whaterver that may be, should not be an excuse for another fault. In this case, the brother was allowing himself to be scandalized to the point that he was helping the man smeer his good name. Obviously the guy was behaving in a manner that was doing damage to his good name and the brother was helping by spreading the story.

If we believe that someone is doing something scandalous, the only person who needs to hear our concern is the individual. After that, would be his immediate superior.
