Are formfitting shirts appropriate?

The beach is 100% off limits for me. Young women who wouldn’t be caught dead in their underwear in public don’t realize they have fallen for the fake belief that wearing the same, or even less, at a beach is somehow OK.

Men who are raised like animals behave like this. A naked woman could be walk in front of me and I could restrain myself from catcalls, because I’m an adult, and not an idiotic man child.

I know of no one else who would respond like this. Civilized men expect decency.

Behavior that is not civil is being promoted by the media, including movies and TV.

Do you live in a jungle, mayhaps, where men follow their passions like uncouth apes? So if you see a naked woman that’s an automatic trigger for you to start catcalling her? LOL.

And yet you seem to be making excuses for bad conduct by men. We can’t control others, not should we try. But we can control ourselves.

Interesting? I don’t understand why you think that many people would be interested in reading the details of more sex abuse stories, as opposed to anything else.

I don’t think your analysis/question tells us a lot about what’s wrong with the church at all.

As I wrote, dressing modestly should be taught.
As should behaving like an adult. In fact, I’d say teaching men to behave properly so outweighs your notions of modest female attire that I don’t really think there need be that much concern over modest clothing.

But Ed, we are far beyond the golden age of decency. Is it worth fighting for? Of course. But, like common sense, it’s just not all that common anymore.

As lamentable as the situation is, we have no control over what occurs in the Diocese of Birmingham - other than an obligation to pray for all involved. This thread on the other hand, is about a right here - right now issue. Even more so with summer upon us.

You can see the difference, can’t you?

All great points and I agree!

I just looked at one of those posts and I realize you started the thread and I’m removing some points. 😄

There are some ruffled or smocked tube tops that I don’t have a problem seeing on others. Would I wear one? No, because I don’t think it’s age appropriate for me, nor would it be appropriate since I put on some weight. If we’re talking something like the skin tight 1980s roller disco look, I don’t think anyone should wear that. It’s tacky.

For example, are tube tops okay to wear?
I wouldn’t classify a tube top as a shirt. A shirt has a collar and sleeves.
If a collar is required, then I do not own a single shirt.
