Are non-Catholics and Protestants who pulled Catholics away from their Catholic Faith, in danger of going to Hell?

What makes you think that any of us can really know who goes to heaven and hell? Who can even really know if there is a heaven or hell to be rewarded or condemned to?

You are judging people whom you don’t even know personally! You are putting people under one certain label and judging that they are evil enough to be tortured eternally without even meeting the individuals! Only a very cruel person could judge someone evil enough to be tortured eternally. In reality, no one deserves eternal torture. Can you not see the insanity of these harsh judgements?

I am not Christian, but do respect Jesus’ teachings. One of his main ones he emphasized was to not judge others and forgive. Why do you condemn your neighbor for the splinter in their eye when you cannot see the log in your own?
Hello** blacktiger057**,

First, whom are you addressing this tirade? And, if you “respect Jesus’ teachings” why aren’t you Christian?

I look forward to your response.

Peace

Hello Jimmy,🙂

Not to one person in particular, but to the people who think that non-Catholics who convert other Catholics are possibly hellbound. In a way it is the debate about which sect of Christianity has the purer salvation, as if the purity of the soul can be measured by human terms. But everyone has their own beliefs, and I accept that.

As for your second question, I’ll send you a pm since it is slightly offtopic from this thread.😉

Many Blessings,😃

I don’t think any of this is relevant to why a person may go to hell. If someone leaves the Catholic church to discover a much more real calling of the Holy Spirit (like myself), then whoever was instrumental in that would be equally blessed I would believe.
Well said. I am glad you have found the Divine through doing this!🙂

The question posed here is –
“Are non-Catholics and Protestants who pulled Catholics away from their Catholic Faith, in danger of going to Hell?”

You know, this raises an excellent question in my case.

I was born and raised a Mormon (Latter Day Saint) and like every good Mormon boy, I served a two year mission over-seas winning converts for the (as I thought) true church.

I served in Germany (which is nearly 45% Catholic and the birthplace of Protestantism) so obviously I help facilitate the fall of many souls (both Catholic and Protestant).

I’ve since renounced my membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (via correspondence with Salt Lake City) and began researching Catholicism.

I’m certain that I will convert to the one Holy, Apostolic, Catholic Church (and am eagerly awaiting for RCIA classes to start in September so that I may proceed to baptism and confirmation come Easter).

I’m wondering, when I make my very first confession, will I have to confess my having served a mission for a heretical church (thus disenfranchising Catholics from their mother-church) or will this sin be covered in baptism?

Well it depends on who the true church is!

Let me give you an example…

If someone drags a Catholic away from the church to God’s true church, then both are saved. It doesn’t matter how much the Catholics protest…

If the Catholic church is right, and the protestant drags away a Catholic… then both go to hell.

The REAL question is… which church is God’s true church? 😃

Well of course that would be your answer… you are Catholic.

Ask any other denomination member the same question and they’ll say their church is God’s church.

Can’t all be right though.

Hello someotherguy,

I Have 5 Questions -
  1. Aren’t Catholics “Born Again”… even by “Born Again” standards?
  2. If a “Born Again” pulls a Catholic away from their Catholic Faith…that’s Ok?
  3. How does being a “Born Again” make it Ok?
  4. If Catholics are, by the "Born Again” definition - “Born Again”, why would anyone need to pull them away from their Catholic Faith?
  5. Do you believe that practicing, or observant Catholics are “Saved”?
Peace 🙂

Some Catholics ARE born-again by born-again standards.

2 & 4
Yes it’s okay, because even though they are newly born babes in Christ, if they don’t get fed with true spiritual milk, they won’t grow in their new spiritual faith, and babies who aren’t fed dies.

They are like in the parable of the seed in not-so-good ground, because they easily sprung up but had no roots and died.

God didn’t call the witnesses to just witness and make converts and then abort them, God commanded to make disciples not just converts like it’s some statistical number.

Some Catholics ARE born-again by born-again standards but
sometimes even though they are, some choose to stay inside RCC and try to change the RCC from within the RCC.
But what happens is they forget that they got born-again,
they forgot what they learned and believed about being born-again.

Not necessarily. I see a born-again Catholic not by their outside visible traditions and religiosity but by the Christian Life of how well they know and can imitate Jesus’ humility and character and love and obedience and their hatred of sin.

  1. Aren’t Catholics “Born Again”… even by “Born Again” standards?
No. I don’t believe that a baby being baptised with a small amount of water can be born again. I believe that repentance and faith is what makes a person “born again” by the spirit. It’s a life change that babies aren’t equipped to make.
  1. If a “Born Again” pulls a Catholic away from their Catholic Faith…that’s Ok?
YES! 😃
  1. How does being a “Born Again” make it Ok?
Because Jesus said that no-one can enter the kingdom of heaven unless they are born again.
  1. If Catholics are, by the "Born Again” definition - “Born Again”, why would anyone need to pull them away from their Catholic Faith?
I would disagree that the majority of Catholiics are not born again by the true definition of the word. Some are though, usually they are called Charasmatic.
  1. Do you believe that practicing, or observant Catholics are “Saved”?
Unfortunately, I don’t believe that the Catholic church deals with the sin problem. Unless a person repents and turns from all sin and puts faith and trust in Jesus alone for salvation and becomes born again of the spirit and a new creation in Christ… I don’t think a person is saved.

Sorry if my answers offend anyone.

Wow! My own personal answer is yes, but this is just hilarious. Every pathetic protestant attempt at rationalizing why not is completely baseless. Not a single one has listed any scriptural, theological, or doctrinal arguments to back up their opinion. I’m guessing it’s because it’s based on their opinion. Kind of like a new “sola opinion” kind of Christianity. It can be whatever you want it to be. Most answers have come in the form of “no”, “the church is wrong”, “catholics are evil and need to be saved by being told that salvation can mean can only be found outside of the the church that Christ himself instituted and his apostles were martyred for.” Thats the thing I love about protestant theology and doctrine. If you don’t like it or agree with it, change it into whatever you want and whallah, you’ve got your very own church and belief structure. Way to go protestants in proving so many arguments people have made against liberal Christianity.

I don’t know…and you don’t know either…nor does any living breathing human being on this earth.

Clear as day.

Have a good one.🙂

Hello Julianna,

Thank you for your post.

I can appreciate what you are saying here. However, I do believe that if a person is judged guilty by God of this offense that they would be in danger of going to Hell. Of course, willful knowledge and intent would be a factor and so would any repentance and forgiveness.

In the past, the Catholic Church has declared such activity - heretical.

Martin Luther was excommunicated, in part, because he pulled Catholics away from their faith. I feel that this is a reasonable warning for those who might wish to do the same.

There are some “ex-Catholics”, for example, who are “ex-Catholics” because of negative, behavioral choices that they have made, where they removed themselves from the Catholic Church, for example, multiple or “mixed” marriages (Catholics married to non-Catholics).

These “ex-Catholics” are now bitter, so they bad-mouth the Catholic Church and deliberately attempt to undermine Catholicism and they know better.

These "ex-Catholics” know the truth; they just have a problem living the truth, as a Catholic.

There are people who do pull Catholics away from their faith because of personal reasons and not base on any theological reason.

I know this, because I have actually met “ex-Catholics” and non-Catholic Christians who are like this.

This thread, is one of those “You know who I’m talking about” threads…

Moreover, this thread is just one of many opportunities that I have to explain and defend my Catholic faith.

It is wrong to knowingly reject Christian truths found in Catholicism and it is wrong to teach other to do so.

There are those who have pulled Catholics away from their faith, who are in danger of going to Hell.

I hope this helps.

Peace 🙂

** Only ONE can be right! **

Not ‘all.’

Not two! Just one!!!

Not true. ** I DO KNOW ! **

ALL who went before me and whom I follow, knew!
ALL who follow with me, know!

Salvation is not guess work.

Salvation does not depend on any one denomination.

Salvation does not depend on any membership to a particular denomination and to claim so is heresy!

Heresy?

Heresy by whose standard? The Catholic standard?

There is no way to condemn heresy in the Protestant faith.
“Oh, but we can use the Scriptures to identify them!”

These ‘heretics’ use Scripture just as much as you do to support their conclusions, and they claim just as ardently as you do that the Holy Spirit led them to the ‘Truth’ of these conclusions. There is no authority to decide in a way binding upon all those involved which of you is wrong, the ‘heretic’ or the ‘orthodox believer’. Which is which? There is no objective answer to the question. All you end up with is two groups of people back-slapping each other, congratulating each other that they ‘had it right all along and didn’t budge on the Truth of the Holy Spirit’.

Further proof that the Catholic Church is in apostacy.

Further proof that the Catholic Church is in apostacy.
Um… how does the fact that Protestants have no way to objectively identify the Truth among thousands of different proffered versions proof that the Catholic Church is in apostasy?
