I don’t disagree that we must receive commumion, don’t get me wrong, and I know how important it is. But it is one thing to understand that and know it and turn your back on it. Its another to not fully understand it. According to what I understand from what the Pope said it is one thing to know and then turn away from the truth. But if it hasn’t been quite revealed to you in that way, its not really their fault. But to claim that just because they don’t understand how important communion is, and to say they are not Christians is unreal. I have said and I will repeat it, to be a Christian is to follow the Path of Jesus Christ the best way you know and are taught. A non-Christian rejects Christ and do not believe that he is the Son of God. I mean they believe that in their religion they are getting communion. Unless I am misunderstanding this thread completely. Again I agree they do not grasp the Catholic or the Church’s teahings. But they do believe in Jesus Christ. Thats the point I think. And I was always taught as long as you accept Jesus Christ as your savior and worship him, and no other gods you are safe. My best friend is a protestant and I feel she is as good as a Christian as I am. She and I do not agree on faith, but thats okay. Hopefully by my example and way of life someday she would want to come to the church and understand more of how important the faith is. But to deny her being a Christian, Thats crazy. And she is living her faith the way she was taught just like I try.Exactly what I said before. But StMarina just doesn’t get that. Hers is a rather extreme position and I am not even sure if that is exactly the position of the Orthodox Church.
