As Scripture says, Matthew 24:36 that only the Father knows the time when the end will come. Not even the Son or the Angels in Heaven.
(Paraphrasing here).
So does it really matter? In some people’s minds, it does.

So here is the question:
'Are we there yet, or how long will it take to reach the End of Time?

I have seen many posts on many threads discuss the future of our country, the world, and the Church, so let’s take a poll.

Personally for me, I don’t think it matters since The Father knows when, we just have to persist and live the life He gave us.

Go with God!

That’s why I chose Any Day Now?. I meant it in an any day…anytime sense. I hope its soon! 😃

Yes, that does mean ANY day, since we do not know even the day or the time of our death. That is why also it doesn’t matter with me when.

Go with God!

i remember my mama talking about reading someone talking about all the wars going on and the turmoil within the Church all seeming to point to the end times Jesus spoke of. but the guy turned out to be writing in the 1100s or something like that. our prognostications are unlikely to correctly guess the night in which the thief will come.
thanks for listening, love and peace, terry

To me it just dont matter, just have to be prepared, stay in Gods grace and pray for his mercy that he wont give me what I deserve.

I have no idea when the Second Coming is coming. However, I do know that my personal end could be at any moment. I hope and pray that I’ll be ready, but I’ve got a lot of work to do. So, I don’t want the end to come too soon!

Most nights I dream of the end of the world and I’m a soldier fighting to save it to the end. What does that mean?

What we do know, is like a thief in the night the end of time comes, and we need to be prepared. But how prepared are we? If it happened NOW, would we all feel we were ready? Or are there more rosaries to recite, more broken bonds to mend, more time we need to save our souls?

If you knew the end of time (coming of Christ) was rapidly approaching (I’m with the view of only God knows), what would you have to do to prepare? Are you ready NOW? And, if you heard the shout of St. Michael, and knew Christ was coming, would you fall to your knees, or run about in fear?

The first choice and the last choice in the poll should be combined.

Bernie

I personally think we’re many years away. Probably centuries. But I’d love to be wrong - Thy Kingdom come!

I didn’t vote in this poll because there is no choices about these things could have happened in the past.

I believe that some things that already occurred in the past such as Jesus’ second coming and armaggadon war. I am partial preterist.

If you are unfamiliar with the term “preterism” – I found the definition on google’s definition which is correct… Preterism is “a Christian belief system in which some or all of the end-time events specified in the Christian Scriptures (New Testament) are believed to have already been fulfilled. They were accomplished in the past, particularly during the Roman-Jewish war of 66 to 73 CE.”

There are some greek words needs to be taken heed at. In Greek words are “mello”, “genea”, “parousia”, “stoicheia”, and “aion”.

These 5 good commentaries of greek words are found at:
mello - preteristarchive.com/Preterism/hochner-donald_p_01.html
genea - preteristarchive.com/Preterism/hochner-donald_p_02.html
parousia - preteristarchive.com/Preterism/hochner-donald_p_03.html
stoicheia - preteristarchive.com/Preterism/hochner-donald_p_04.html
aion - preteristarchive.com/Preterism/hochner-donald_p_05.html

Interestingly, Spanish Jesuit Luis De Alcazar (preterist) wrote commentary on “Investigation of the Hidden Sense of the Apocalypse.” Said of Roman Emperor Nero was an Anti-Christ and destroyed Jerusalem by the Romans and used Rev 21-22 as successor of new Jerusalem = the Roman Catholic Church. The Whore of Babylon represented as old Jerusalem. It makes some sense for me!

well, since Daddy doesn’t live in time, He’s eternal, yeah all of this has happened. however, for us players, we have to go by the clock. so for us, these things havn’t happened. i am certain of this since J described His second coming as something no one, not even a ditz like me, could possibly miss.

Well, look into Matthew 24:34 saying " Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled."

“This generation” in this verse makes big difference. Greek word “genea” (generation) meaning the whole multitude of men living at the same time. So therefore what Jesus was talking about at his generation that second coming is about to be fulfilled before his generation passes.

🤓 Well, in my estimation we are currently in the throes of the end of an era…leading up to the Triumph of the Virgin Mary. I think it is soon that we will see a vast purification fo the Church which means big trouble for those who require cafeteria Catholicism & those of us who dislike carrying their crosses.

As far as THE End. No, not quite yet.

I have been following the changes in the Earth as far as natural disasters for over five years now…I think the Earth is basicallly held together by God Himself in the Holy Eucharistic, so as the Faith goes there goes the planet. There is a great increase in the size of earthquakes as far as the array of average sized ones. When I started in 1999 watching, there were scales of 2-3’s which were the most common ones. Now the most common are 4-5’s.
That’s just one example…

I also love all the prophesy from the holy Saints regarding the endtimes…scary stuff but you do see us easing into it right now.

Like this: That observatory that is being threatened by wildfires-It’s the Vatican’s(media doesn’t share this info)…why does the Vatican want to have the world’s most powerful telescope? Because of the third secret/part that was left out for the general population??..that would coincide with the Saints prophesies…a comet/fire falling from the sky/chastisement etc.
Now while the New World Order/Illuminati want a reduction of the Earth’s populace by much as 80% especially whom they deem to be “useless eaters”, we may not be so eager to check into Eternity and face Jesus at this point huh?
So as always, we must strive to get our souls ready at any moment in case of nuclear attack, a large comet, a flash flood, cancer or a Mack truck without brakes…

Love in Jesus,
Shelby Grace

We are closer to the end today than we were yesterday:D

Worry less about when, and more about being prepared.

We should live as if it will occur at any time yet, but pray that the Lord be merciful and give people the chance to repent and reform their lifestyles.

Many people in history have failed to predict the end of the world. So no matter how things seem around us, we cannot be sure it’s the final hour (although if some guy takes over the world, claims to be Jesus, ransacks the Vatican, and performs miracles I suppose it may be an indication that it’s not like any other time…)

What I would say is that this has got to be probably the largest crisis of faith the Church has ever seen right now. Only 30% of Catholics believe in the Real Presence according to a dated Gallup poll (haven’t seen an update), and if the percentage of Catholics who follow the Church’s teachings on contraception is more than 10% I’d be surprised. Over half the U.S. Catholics are planning on voting for an openly pro-abortion candidate, and I think Europe is in a larger crisis of faith than the U.S. is. Now, acceptance of homosexuality, and even gay marriage is gaining a foothold among Catholics.

And while these issues may not be as prevalent in the undeveloped nations, they are very quickly gaining acceptance as promoters of abortion and contraception use these peoples’ plights to promote this agenda.

While wars and rumors of wars and persecution and all that stuff have always been with us and are a sign of the end times, we are now living in the largest mass apostasy since the time of Christ. And this doesn’t even count the non-Catholics.

My gut tells me that if trends do not reverse in my lifetime, that God will end it all within the next century. But that’s not a prediction, just a feeling.

Now, I also believe that God’s mercy is so great that if all the faithful continue to work and pray, we can delay the Day of the Lord. That’s why I don’t predict anything. We have the power to tap into God’s mercy, and these trends could reverse and people in the year 2999 could be expecting Christ to return in the year 3000.

It doesn’t matter when the second coming arrives if we are not ready. I try to live as if it will be any hour now, knowing that my own personal judgement will probably come long before the end of the world.

John

This is a ridiculous poll. I choose, none of these answers.

No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.”(Matthew 24:36)

“But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into.” (Luke 12:39)

Why did you even ask this question? If Jesus doesn’t know, how could we know?

Well said! 👍

In a recent (friendly) argument with a Protestant co-worker on the subject of celibacy; he asked. “What would happen if everybody became celibate?”.

I didn’t answer at first, but then it occurred to me; it would most likely hasten the second coming of Christ. :yup:
