it doesnt matter when jesus comes again but i do hope that it is my lifetime! but it wont be cos we have to go through the appocolise

my fav translation of the bible is the new living translation and the street bible which has to be the best!

Don’t count on a temple being rebuilt.

This comes from the belief that there will be animal sacrifices, and that the temple will be desecrated.

First, this has already happened historically and may or may not be part of the events at the end of time. Second, we already have a enw temple. The temple is Christ Himself in every tabernacle of every Church. We already have a continuing sacrifice - Christ Himself. We, ourselves, are a living temple.

Many believe the events of the end of the world in relation to this is not a desecration of a Jewish temple, but a spiritual desecration of our humanity (human temples), a lack of belief in the Eucharist, and a desecration of our Church tabernacles.

gomertree,

I haven’t looked this up but doesn’t this come from Jesus’ words “when you see the abomination of desolation”? Doesn’t that most likely mean a physical place. Has the church made any pronouncements on this? I certainly could be wrong.

Thanks
Chris G

Yes, I always believed that Antichrist would rebuilt the temple, as he pretends to be the ‘messiah’. So he’d make a sign of good faith towards the Jews. Is there not a orthodox sect of Jews who are training priests, in anticipation of Messiah’s coming? This would set it up perfectly for Antichrist whenever he is revealed.

Scripture gives many signs of the Day of the LORD, so we can know when it’s coming…just can’t set dates. (The Old Testament actually speaks quite a lot about what we call the Tribulation, does it not?)

i’d laugh so hard if the Antichrist was a future pope!

:rotfl:
sorry thats just my bad sence of humor!

Many believe that occurred in 70 AD.

Why would you ever find this to be funny? I am quite offended that you would find it humorous that the leader of a billion Catholics would ever be the Antichrist. That’s just cold. Do you so want to be right about the Catholic Church that you would welcome seeing a billion people be led to hell? That would be funny?

I think you need to reflect about your own faith if that’s how you feel.

I think a better question is, would you laugh if I suggest that a religious leader in your church could be the anti-Christ who is leading your congregation down the wide path? I won’t make any comment as to how likely that suggestion is vs yours… Or about how many people would notice that either…

Jesus says to love your enemy as well as your neighbor. No matter what you consider the Pope to be, you should love them as Jesus says. Laughing about someone being the anti-Christ isn’t very loving. I would suggest that you reflect on this and how a Christian should act.

Oh, and you haven’t shown anyone how the Pope or anyone in my faith could be the anti-Christ, you made a statement. Why would I believe you? Why would anyone believe you?

To be an antichrist is to claim one’s self to be the christ and deny the Christ Jesus. The Pope is the Vicar of Christ on earth; so your claim is a practical impossibility. The Pope’s job is depended on his proclamation in Christ Jesus, for goodness sake!

I can’t see any logic in your claim… :banghead:

It seems to me I’ve read prophesy of Church approved Saints suggesting that a false pope would in essense hi-jack the Vatican in the end times and I suppose the real Pope must be in hiding…then Jesus promise would still remain intact and the Church would plod on with the Holy Spirit’s help in secret and “underground” because those in the true Church would be hunted, martryed etc.

Anyone else ever come across these prophesies?

I’ll look for some for discussion’s sake.

The 3rd secret of Fatima is believed to mention a " great apostacy " ( a falling away from the " True " ( Catholic ) Church. It is also believed to mention the assassination of a Pope. ( John Paul I? ) who I believe was poisoned because he desired to bring the Catholic Church back into alignment with the Holy Bible and Tradition. ( read " In God’s Name " by David Yallup. ) The Mayan calander does indeed end in 2012 A. D. because the Mayan " mystics" could not “see " any thing beyond that year… It’s my feeling that some time between now and the year 2012, Russia will attack the United States with nuclear weapons. Probably after the " war " on terrorism really gets under way.The United Nations will intervene after America has been brought to her “knees” by nuclear " terror” we will welcome the U.N.'s intervention…in the name of "peace " and then the 3 days of darkness, the rise of anti-christ .and his reign for 7 years, his “judgement” and defeat by Michael the archangel, and the comet which will pass through earth’s atmosphere “or” collide with the earth… the end.

This is a ridiculous poll. I choose, none of these answers.
sounds like a personal problem here, but thanks for sharing your opinion…it was very inspiring.
