I noticed that. I don’t think it would matter to non African’s’ except to say the Cardinals did not have the courage to breakthrough the barrier now instead of waiting for a future generation… For black American’s specifically it would mean little in what we would see as a local leader in another location is. In other words an African Cardinal in Africa means nothing, that hurdle was passed a generation ago, racial/politically speaking that is.Back when Pope John Paul II died there was an Archbishop from Africa who looked like he would have a very good chance to become Pope. Cardinal Arinze(?)
