Is your disbelief based on the variety of religions to choose from?Gotcha, Sikhism it is.![]()
No. There are a lot of brands to choose from though. Is your disbelief based on the variety of religions to choose from?
Nope. They won’t.I’ll ask a Hindu, a Muslim, a jew, a Christian, a Buddhist and a Sikh for the answer.
Hmmm, I wonder if they’ll all agree on whose God is real?
You’re right; Afterlife doesn’t exist. Not popular enough, plus he didn’t write to you.
Ok. Did Osiris reveal himself to us or did we invent him? Examine ALL the evidence. All of it. Don’t leave a scrap out.I say Osiris.![]()
I say none are revelations. People have stressed and obsessed over the Bible to the point where mankind makes it a self-fulfilling prophecy with empty promises. :ehh:Nope. They won’t.
Humans aren’t going to come to a uniform answer. The answer is out there though. As I said earlier in this thread, this supreme being would have to show Himself to us. We could never find Him without His help. Now the question is, which religion is an actual revelation, and which ones are lies?
I’m Agnostic; you do know I’m kidding, right?Ok. Did Osiris reveal himself to us or did we invent him? Examine ALL the evidence. All of it. Don’t leave a scrap out.
10 Commandments in stone - lightening - then the people requested God not speak to them because it frightened them so He said ok, and said He would send prophets and if what they said didnt come true, then not to fear them. You’re right; Afterlife doesn’t exist. But, who ever said any god from any culture wrote to someone.
LOL, ha ha ha. Ever heard of the problem of pride? Most people will try to distort everything to suit themselves. You have to learn to look beyond the fact that falsehoods exist and find the Truth. It isn’t an easy path, but it may be imperative.I say none are revelations. :heaven: Ahh… I remember doing that when I had my imaginary friend. Good times… good times… :yup:10 Commandments in stone - lightening - then the people requested God not speak to them because it frightened them so He said ok, and said He would send prophets and if what they said didnt come true, then not to fear them.
O yea, there was a time God did speak to man…but since they feared Him nearly to death [due to sin] He said He wouldnt speak to them. [exception in the person of the Son - the Word was made flesh]
O yea, God became like you so He could understand you as flesh and love you enough to die for you.
SO take some advice, ask God with a genuine desire to know Him and see what happens.
Ciao.
Yes, but that doesn’t let you off the hook. You still fail to explain what caused initial intelligence in the universe. You can tell me it arose naturally all you want, but it isn’t sufficient. The law of causality still stands.I’m Agnostic; you do know I’m kidding, right?![]()
Oh, I found the closest I could get to Truth, but, boy, was it ugly!LOL, ha ha ha. Ever heard of the problem of pride? Most people will try to distort everything to suit themselves. There is a difference between an imaginary friend and an ontological necessity. I hope you find it.:heaven: Ahh… I remember doing that when I had my imaginary friend. Good times… good times… :yup:
Yes there are. It takes faith to believe in any of them, but it also takes faith to not believe. So, why don’t you believe in a god? Is it because it is not likely or provable or what? No. There are a lot of brands to choose from though.![]()
Of course it doesn’t. You’ve got it easy: All you have to say is, “God did it.” and that’s it. That’s not sufficient for me because, for the most part, I don’t believe in God, and existence is highly unlikely to me and in general.Yes, but that doesn’t let you off the hook. No. It has limited your thoughts. Agnosticism is a claim that we have no knowledge when in fact we do. You need to keep looking.Oh, I found the closest I could get to Truth, but, boy, was it ugly! But, I’ve learned to deal with it and make the best of it, and, now, it has set me free!

To me, there both pretty much the same. There is a difference between an imaginary friend and an ontological necessity. I hope you find it.
You think I simply accept the hows without researching the whys? You don’t know me very well, do you?Of course it doesn’t. You’ve got it easy: All you have to say is, “God did it.” and that’s it. That’s not sufficient for me because, for the most part, I don’t believe in God, and existence is highly unlikely to me and in general.
