When an entire community (blacks) do not trust the police as a group, then there is a problem with the group that needs to be addressed.
Please site a poll that says the entire community of American blacks do not trust police. Does this entire community include black police? Does this entire community not trust black police?
The argument of just a few bad apples doesn’t hold.
So, again, all police bad, regardless of race or actions. Are all the Democrat progressive mayors in charge of them bad, too?

Concerning bad apples, it depends on the effect. A few bad apples in a group that is given the power to enforce and kill and is often the only recourse for safety is worse than a group with none of those powers of status. There is no inconsistency to say ACAB when there is a blue wall of silence, repeated problems and abuse of power, etc. A few bad apples in the police ruins far more things.

Are you black?
Subjective insight does not make objective truth. Subjective perspectives can be wrong, and often are. To have any sort of dialogue one must accept the existence of objective truth or else discussion is really just talking to yourself.

Since the invention of the firearm, the power to kill exists universally. With police, the authority does add an increased danger, but that is a matter of degree. As to whether police are more likely to stay silent to protect those that commit a crime, or neighborhoods are, I would say that would depend on the police agency, and depend on the neighborhood. I note that the Bexar County Sheriff was criticized for the crimes committed by his officers. He had zero tolerance for cover up and was visibly prosecuting every crime committed in uniform.

@Therightmelissa on twitter, an African American, tweeted out that a police officer is 18 times more likely to be shot and killed by a black male than a police officer shooting and killing a black male (or is it an unarmed black male). We need perspective on all of this. The stats are something like this. I think we need to be sensitive to the rights of all but let’s not skew the truth as well.

I think they don’t like the fact that they very people (Progressive mayors and politicians) responsible for the culture that allows for misconduct by a small few are unwilling to defend and stand by the honorable overwhelming majority of law enforcement officers.
If the “honorable” cops aren’t proactively investigating and arresting the cops committing misconduct they aren’t honorable.

Which ones have not been arrested recently?
If these events continue to occur in the same jurisdiction, when will the leaders and their political party and movement not be called to account?

Hatred of authority is demonic, it’s the devils whole game.

I’m not surprised either. When a suspect fights off two cops, punches one in the face, grabs a taser, runs away and then turns back and points something at an officer, I am not surprised if he ends up shot, regardless of the race or whatever of the suspect. Officers undergo training where they have to react to a potential deadly thrreat in a second, this is a common scenario. I’m sorry this came at a bad time for race relations, but I don’t think that cop committed murder either. I also think the outcome would have been the same if the man were white and did the same thing.

Destroying important institutions based on the heinous acts of a few is counterproductive
Depends on what your goal is.
True…

Let’s compare it to communist law enforcement. Want to?
I think since broad brushing is the standard Regular Atheist is employing, lets continue with that specifically to communist law enforcement. I’ve visited the Communist Party’s secret police headquarters in Budapest Hungary. It would seem that the preference to US policing would be to arrest people in the middle of the night, throw them into either a cell with a 4ft high ceiling, or a cell with a battery and cables to attach to the prisoner, or a cell so narrow you stay standing and can’t lay down?

Well this is what happens when the Police do not “Police” their own. The idea of protecting the “Brotherhood” should come to an end.

You praying for the ensuing chaos that will result as a result?

The issue that Atlanta cops have is the lack of due process. The shooter cop was almost instantly fired and charged with murder. Essentially railroaded due to the weight of popular opinion. No waiting for the officer involved shooting investigation to reach a conclusion. No waiting for the proper investigation leading to indictment and arrest. None of that. The lynch mob was at the gates and the authorities gave in without much in the way of attempting to backup the rest of the police force. If Mayor Bottoms was ever actually considered for Joe Biden’s VP, she’s done, this killed her chances, too few people are going to vote for someone who gave into the mob that easily.

This isn’t nearly as clean cut as the Floyd case. The suspect is clearly seen on video overpowering the two cops, taking the taser from them, yet the cops are supposed to let the suspect carry a lethal weapon into the neighborhood?

Atlantans will get the policing they want. Good and hard.
