Where in the Bible does it state that we are not to pray to and/or petition anyone “other than Jesus in heaven?”

I’m confused by this. You don’t mean that if I begin a prayer, “Dear Heavenly Father,” , God does not listen to it. Do you?

Yeah, I thought about that, too.

jericho doesn’t seem to understand difference brtween prayer, as to God, and invocation, which is a request for intercession. One doesn’t have to *agree *with invocation of the saints and the Blessed Virgin, to understand it. But one does have to understand it, to some extent, in order to honestly disagree (or agree) with it.

That’s how I thought it worked. When a person die, it simply means they are sleep. Not in Heaven. The Bible teaches us this.

Yes, Salvation is through Christ Alone.

This verse is about Salvation.

The OP is talking about prayer and intercession.

Two different topics.

*‘past tense’ *does not imply that they are all written in the Bible
past tense does not imply we can reject the tradtions
Some people have yet to learn the traditons, or at least accept them

The Jews? The same, who with respect to them, reject the entire New Testament? BTW some Jews do actually accept them.

At the time of Christ there was no official set canon of Jewish scripture. The Sadducees only accepted the Law for example (Pentateuch). Sirach (Ecclesiasticus) for example was used as the basis for two important parts of the Jewish liturgy.

At the Council of Rome in 382 AD Pope Damascus decreed a 73 book Canon. Do you have an offical 66 book canon before that time or since that time???

Do you ever pray the “Our father”? Do you ever ask other people to pray for you?
