It is a thought experiment. From an objective standpoint since Society used to think it was okay and now it doesn’t.

It is wrong to beat slaves. Or own slaves.
Ok. I see that. The other link spoke of punishment only and not beating.
Still wrong. I thought we’d been over this?

This thread has become “prove that slavery is bad”; stay classy, CAF.

So corporal punishment is okay as long as it doesn’t inflict serious injury?

It never ceases to amaze me. I can assure you if a high ranking church member did it, they will defend it. It’s unbelievable. If Augustine had a hobby of punching babies in the face they would say “but really what’s so wrong with that?”

No it is because it seems that there is a cultural double standard in today’s society.

Would using physical pain as a measure of morality be subjective or objective? Could I kill someone if they didn’t feel anything?

That is ridiculous, and shows ignorance towards the Church
Look at this thread. It’s happened. People are literally defending slavery and beating people. It’s not the first time I’ve seen this topic on CAF either.

I just want to see if people are actually objective. Society keeps going back in forth in what it deems to be moral.

Punching babies? Really? That did not appear anywhere. His comment was wrong and makes the people of the Church seem so horrible that we would ever do that
