Graciesuico, It’s true that we are not approve by the Vatican yet, but it is also true that we are not banned. Some diocese did banned us but not all. Our name is not Fatima group it so happened that some people called us that name.We are the BNP, and I’m proud of it.
IF you don’t believe in our movement so be it, but please don’t hate us. I don’t know why most of the people that hate the BNP are Filipinos, our kababayan, Why? Why are you persecuting us? Please answer me.
Gabriel of 12;

No one is persecuting the BNP as far as I can see; What draws curiosity is why you would attach your self to the Catholic Church from Know where?

I have a question for the BNP people? does your group excercise sacraments? and do you attend Mass on Sundays in a Catholic Church or at your own meetings?

I know about Bishop Bruskewitz did and his threat of
excommunication (ipso-facto latae sententiae ) on the membership of some groups in his diocese. But, you have to agree that these were groups that advocated abortion, assisted suicide , FreeMasonry and a breakaway from the tenets that were set in Vatican II . The BNP does NOT practice ,advocate or
support any of these ideas or groups.

As for the blessing of the Pope. Any Catholic that is affected by a writ of excommunication has the right to appeal first to the bishop , then to the Holy See and the Pope , or have they rewritten the 1983 Code of canon law?

As far as I know , there has been no excommunication proceedings or even threats of excommunication proceedings against the BNP in America and the Philippines and in the other countries that the BNP has Chapters or a presence.

may God bless you and yours.
Are you a member of BNP if you are can you please tell us what do they believe

Hello Bill,
We're Catholic, we believe and practice everything Catholics believe, we attend mass in our respective parishes and receive sacraments from priests, and observe Catholic tradition.

Can you name a Catholic Bishop from the magesterium that supports BNP or endorsed this? I dont know what to call it? If this is new or where it came from? IF BNP are claiming to supernatural events taking place, would it not be advisable to Have Peter (Pope) and John (Bishops and magesterium) investigate this particular tomb, so as to confirm these unconfirmed supernatural events as believable or not or satan dressed as an angel?

In my diocese, My Bishop has informed us not to attend such a group calling themselves catholic, administering sacraments, men dressed as priests ordained from a Bishop not in communion with the Pope, but yet their members claim to be in full communion with their Catholic Bishops and the Pope.

To claim to be catholic and follow a catholic Bishop not in communion with the Pope and the magesterium can lead to many deceptions from the titles, names, sacraments does not make them valid. This was the message from my Bishop which does not recognize the self proclaimed catholics to be administering sacraments.

Beware of this wolf in sheeps clothing that has crept in the U.S. having priests, adminstering sacraments, claiming to a Bishop outside of any diocese, believing in the Pope and having all the outer garments of the official Catholic Church, but does not have a valid Priesthood, or sacraments.

I would like to know of the name of the Bishop that supports this BNP group whether from the U.S or abroad? if one may exist?

That said, this self proclaimed catholic group that has surfaced in our diocese goes by another name, so I can not state for sure if they are the same or from the same group.

IF this is BNP why call it such a name? what is wrong with the Universal title Catholic Church, and single itself out to be called BNP. Does this BNP send financial support to the local Bishop and the Pope? What happens to the offerings and tithes given to BNP, do they have an open financial book for the local Catholic Bishop to review?

These are matters one should look into before confirming they are Catholic by the four marks of the authentic Catholic Church.

Praying one day all this dust will settle, and may Truth be revealed and God given all the Glory.

Peace be with you

Gabriel of 12,
I’m sorry, but I feel that you are persecuting us. It’s okey, I won’t take that against you.
Yes, we have the same seven sacrament of the Catholic Church. Actually I learned that from the retreat. We go to Catholic Church every Sunday, we do overnight vigil in the Blessed sacrament, and pray the rosary. We have members who belong to Baptist, Episcopalian and other protestant denomination that converted to Catholicism, even a Muslim lady now a Catholic because of BNP.
I knew and read all the negative letters about the BNP and Ate Salve since 1998. My first reaction was to leave the BNP, but my heart was telling me to stay. I was confused, and decided to pray about it.
One Sunday during the homily of our pastor, Fr. Mike, he said, “Always follow your heart, because only God can enter your heart, the devil can’t”. That’s why I’m still here.
Let me tell you about myself. I haven’t been in church for 20 years and confession for 30 years until I attended the BNP retreat. Now I’m a change man (according to my wife).

Because your a CULT!!!

Hello All …

I’ve been skimming through the responses, the questions, the allegations, the arguments throughout this thread and realize that there are no answers that will be enough to bring this discussion to a resolution.

All I can offer is my experience with the BNP and the things that I have experienced on a personal level.

I’m 30 years old and have been involved with the BNP since I was about 14. I was the typical teenager and raised Catholic, but did not practice whatsoever. Sunday Mass was an option for me as a teenager, it wasn’t something that I wanted to go to nor was it something I went to often. Prayer was something that happened maybe once or twice a year and all the other Catholic teachings were almost non existent in my life.

As I went to the BNP retreat, the Vigil adorations, the Fatima devotions and other activities, I started to learn more about my Catholic faith. I started to see who God was in my life, the importance of family. Today I am eager to attend Sunday Mass, and whenever possible during the week, I receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation as often as possible and do my best to make a visit to the Blessed Sacrament throughout the month.

For those who say that BNP is a cult, that BNP is banned, that people shouldn’t join the BNP, etc etc, what say you about the change in my life? If God is not present within the BNP, then I ask you to please explain the profound changes in the strengthening of my Catholic faith after my involvement with the group, what answer can you give me?

Had it not been me joining the BNP at a young age and learning about God, learning about His love and His mercy, I probably wouldn’t be alive today, much less trying to help people find God in their lives as much as possible.

Someone on this thread has said that the fruits have been tarnished with lies, deception. What lies and deception are you referring to? Whatever I have learned within the BNP has pushed me to go back to Mass, to go to Confession, to pray the Rosary, to pray in front of the Blessed Sacrament … the list goes on and on.

I also read that there were some “complaints” about members of the BNP and their actions, I ask you to please remember that we are all humans here, we make our mistakes, we say dumb things, we do dumber things, none of us are perfect.

The ones who say that the BNP is about a woman named Ate Salve who says she’s Jesus, or is possessed by Jesus. Please do not be so ignorant. There is only one God, there is only one Jesus. I’m not sure where you got your information from, but BNP has never in all the years that I’ve been involved ever said that Ate Salve was the Holy Spirit, God, nor Jesus. She is a regular human being.

If a group pushes an individual, who was once disconnected from his faith and religion, to loving God, having a personal relationship with God and serving God to the best of his ability, is that wrong??? I only ask this because if this is wrong, then please tell me what is right.

Call me, email me and I will tell you more of my experiences. There’s one thing that I ask of the people here reading this and responding to this thread, if you have never been part of the BNP and haven’t given BNP a chance in your life, then please stay away from responding with incorrect information, as all the information that you say is nothing but hearsay. But honestly if you have been with the BNP and are still having issues, don’t be afraid to contact me.

The Banal Na Pag-aaral ( BNP ) movement is a lay ministry.
Every authentic lay ministry is under the authority of a bishop.

This is one of the safeguards that keeps the faithful from running amok
Its primary purpose is draw people back to the Catholic Church,
And how does teh BNP define “catholic church”?

The Church defines it as those who are in union with the bishop.
We conduct retreat classes and other activities to achieve this end.
hmmmm :hmmm:

wonder what THOSE are about
It is true that certain dioceses have not accepted the BNP and its membership. But , this is a long way from being banned . All this means is that as an organization we cannot fully participate in the dioceses’ activities.
Like which? Communion, perhaps?
Code:
In other dioceses like San Bernardino , their priests are forbidden from administering the Holy Sacraments to the BNP membership,
These prohibitions came as a result of an advisory letter from the
late cardinal Sin , which was later rescinded . The BNP now enjoys full participation in most dioceses in the Philippines.
So, what happened in San Bernardino?
Code:
We hope in the fullness of time , that the restrictions we have in America will be lifted , God willing.
Please do not judge or lump us in with any sect, cult or organization until you have actually witnessed or experienced
what the BNP truly is.
It is our duty to exercise discernment, and avoid heresies. One does not need to “witness or experience” a heretical group in order to make this judgement.

We have difference of opinion of the definition of “persecution”. I mean no negativity towards the BNP, because I truly do not know exactly its foundation.

I am just inquiring from my questions which have not been answered.

Simply put; it is not clear to me because you practice the sacraments, priesthood under the title of “Catholic”. I just need it confirmed if it is truly the Magesterium of the Catholic church Jesus gave the authority too?

In other words, it is truly the Catholic Church adminstering the sacraments from the ordained Priesthood of Jesus Christ, or is just the BNP saying it is? How can this be proven? Are you ready to give witness for the BNP?

Hey Gabriel - let me try to answer some of your questions.

The BNP is not a church, nor is it a religion. It is basically a lay movement that tries to help people develop and/or enrich their personal relationship with God, the Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ. The activities that the BNP sponsors and organizes are the retreats, the Marian retreats, various social activities, Fatima devotion and some other events. I believe, and correct me if I’m wrong, but here in New York those who are involved in the BNP are also involved in their local parishes, their Catholic churches (i.e. St Patrick’s Cathedral, St. Aloysious Church, Blessed Sacrament, etc etc). So the Sacraments that are received are the same ones that everyone else in the world received from the Catholic Churches all throughout the planet. The priests that we go to for Confession, go to for Mass, are the same priests that are in the parishes.

The BNP does not ordain priests, we do not have our own priests, we don’t have our own Sacraments.

I hope that helped answer some of your questions. As for the proof, the only thing I can offer you is to see me go to Mass, to see me go to Confession in my local Catholic Church. I’m not sure what other proof I can volunteer that I do infact go to a REAL Catholic Church, with the REAL Sacraments. For me, the BNP is a group that has helped strengthen my faith, my Catholic faith, my personal relationship with God, nothing less but so much more.

I need clarification here; BNP is a lay movement in the Catholic Church? Yet not one Catholic Bishop endorses or sponsors this lay movement?

The Bishop of each diocese is responsible for the evangelizing of the Gospel in his diocese.

A Catholic Bishop must first authenticate the BNP evangelistic “Lay” movement for his flock that he is responsible for, before any Lay ministry or BNP starts evangelizing the Catholic Bishops flock. This is what puzzles me. Why are Catholics flocking to such a lay ministry without the approval of their Bishop first?

Thank you for your response, So I ask you, have you confirmed this BNP with your Bishops approval before you started attending? What type of investigation you did that confirmed you to attend this BNP? Was your attendance to a BNP retreat approved by your priest or Bishop?

As a Catholic who has seen so many misinformed Catholics taken away by every wind and doctrine that has taken them away by enlightenments from the flesh and emotion instead of what is truth. As a Practicing Catholic, I would keep BNP at arms length until an official Bishop of the Catholic Church approves or sponsors this BNP lay ministry.

Does anyone know if a Bishop of the magesterium has officially sponsored or approved this BNP ministry?

I participated in a Cursio lay person ministry but this “Cursio” has the blessings of every Priest and Bishop around the World in the Catholic Church. Who founded the BNP? did an Catholic ordained religious, or religious order found the BNP?

Hey Gabriel - these are the things I know from being with the BNP for 14+ years.

I definitely understand the the concern about groups, people or organizations taking Catholics away from the doctrine and from their faith by misleading them, and I am with you on that.

The reason why I have been involved with the BNP since my teens and still am involved with it is because it has brought my family and I back to the Catholic Church. It has done absolutely nothing to push me and my family from the things we’ve learned in our Catechism, on the contrary my involvement with the BNP has strengthened and reinforced my Catholic faith (as I had said in a few posts above). I think I might have shared this information on another thread, but some of my closest friends went from a life of gangs, drugs and violence to a life that was full of the love of God after their involvement with the BNP. In my humble option the presence of the Holy Spirit within the BNP is what drives the change in ones life, and what helps people make their way back to the Catholic Church. I can’t answer your question about why people still come to BNP even though it has not been approved by the Catholic Church, the only thing I can share with you regarding that is my own experience and those close to me who are also in the BNP and why they still come. From what they have experienced in the retreats, in the Fatima devotions, and all the other activities that the BNP part takes in, they know that God is in this movement, be it approved or not approved.

How can I say this with certainty even though Mother Church has not given approval to the BNP yet? I can say that because it’s helped me form a life that is full of the knowledge that God is there present in everything and everywhere I go, and again helping my Catholic faith blossom and grow. I stay with the group and hopefully I can help people achieve the same thing that I have from the BNP, that’s part of the reason why I am still involved. For me I have learned that when we receive the grace and love of God, we are to go out there and share it, not to keep it for ourselves, and that’s what I’m trying to do.

Prior to my involvement with the BNP in my teens, I knew about the group but had no desire to join since I was caught up with the worldly things and did want to do anything religious. The investigations that I did were not prior to going to a retreat, reason being that I don’t think that one can investigate and see the entire picture when standing from the sidelines and trying to see what’s going on. My “investigations” about the BNP went on after my retreat and from my experience I definitely found God here. The things discussed at the retreats are the Catholic teachings.

The BNP is not approved by the Catholic Church yet. I believe the reason for this is because the case is still open since the “visions” or “manifestations” are still going on today.

I hope that answered some of your questions and I’m sorry if I missed any. If I did, please let me know or any other questions you might have.

Sorry I missed the last part of your post in my previous reply.

The BNP was founded by God, the Holy Spirit, whom spoke to the chairperson of the BNP to start the movement. If you’re asking if the BNP has the blessings of every Priest and Bishop around the world in the Catholic Church, the answer is no. I do know for a fact that many Priests support the BNP.

Hope that helps - Simon

You say you have not been to conession in 39 years, have you been with you new church

The Jesuits, Franciscans, Knights of Columbus - all took many years to gain the approval of the Catholic church even though their practices were very much Catholic from the beginning. The aparitions of Medjugorje have been happening for decades and are widely accepted by Catholics all over the world, but the Church has not yet approved of its reality either. Such is the case with this movement. There are many predjudices and outright liars out there, but it will all come out in the wash. Let’s not try regulate God to a set of rules or put him in a box, folks.

Polang, please I just want clarification. I dont hate you. I just want the truth. Your members here saying that BNP has changed the name of your group okay. Is not from my idea. Polang who is Inkong? Why when you have a retreat you covered the window and wanting a dark place for the retreat? Then what about the chair at the center …and what abou the adoration without exposition of the Blessed Sacrament? and What is all about Salve who being trancends and becoming Jesus…either she becomes a child Jesus or adult Jesus. Does Jesus needs to enter the body of Salve to deliver the message …Honestly this is something new to me.

Graciesuico, Mahal na Inkong is Jesus Christ himself. Ate Salve is a visionary and that’s how Jesus Christ introduce himself to her.
When we pray it is better to close our eyes so we can concentrate fully and meditate. That’s one reason why we prefer it dark.
The chair at the center is for Mahal na Inkong, because he promised that every retreat he will be there.
The adoration to the Blessed Sacrament without exposition is not true. If the priest is available he open the Blessed Sacrament (Benediction). If not he will give us the key, so during the vigil we can just open it.
Ate Salve is not Jesus or become Jesus. This is the part that the Catholic Church cannot accept and understand. It is hard for me to explain, because you will not understand me. That is why I want you to attend the retreat because experiencing is the only way to understand. It took me years to understand it. That’s why the name of the group is Banal na Pagaaral, which mean holy studies. It’s a continue learning about Mahal na Inkong and the movement. Just like the Trinity, we know what it is, we believe but you cannot explain it, specially to Jehovah Witness or Iglesia ni Kristo.

I have been reading Lives of the Saints but I havent found one. That Jesus possesed her so she will become a messenger. Or I could say that she is Jesus. Isnt it quite confusing? Polang thanks for inviting me in your retreat . and telling me to have my bible and catechism …I have read mine bible and catechism. I attended also bible study for quiete a while. When we speak of God we don’t use the word posses.Possession is for the devil, instead we us indwelling. God indwell to us during Baptism and Confirmation. Google the word ,“Indwelling of the Holy Spirit” for further understanding. You might find some Catholic Saints that gave us a message from God while they are in trance, like St Elizabeth or St Therese of Lisieux.
I don’t know if you’re satisfied with my answers to your questions, at least I tried.
