Is this an attack on
my character?
I quote your ENTIRE statements, and I refute them…
In post #3, you replied to my post #2, and didn’t even quote the two things I asked that you prove.
In posts #43, #44, and #45, I quoted you more than twenty times. In your reply, you quoted me
three times, ignoring the
vast majority of my arguments.
In post #80, I made 22 different comments on two of your posts. In your reply, #93, you quoted me
three times.
In post #81, I made three strong points, and then offered my seven complaints about your argument style. In post #94, you replied only to the seven complaints, and left entirely unaddressed the other three points I made.
In post #102, I posted around 10 different statements about things you’ve said. In your reply to that post, #105, you quoted me four times, ignoring significant arguments I’d made.
At 12:58am, I replied with post #113 with around seven important, theological points. You replied to a post made after mine at 1:06am (#115 by BlestOne) but
did not reply to my post. You continued posting until after 3am, and yet you never replied to my post. Interesting, for someone who claims to reply to
all my posts in their
entirety.
Infants and toddlers do not have the mental capacity yet to understand “all things Jesus commanded”, and this teaching was commissioned to be done BEFORE baptism… the primary topic of the Great Commission is “teaching”, and that teaching is to be followed by “baptizing”.
Toward the end of last night, you posted this, which is an argument I already addressed in post #44 to which you
never responded.
when you don’t have an answer you post something like this
It’s a verifiable fact that I’ve had answers for al your claims: just read my replies to your posts and compare them to the originals.
Why is that so offensive to you? Isn’t that the basis for debate?
Offended? Who said I was offended? I was only scoffing at your credulity, to believe that you’re arguing on the foundation of Scripture rather than on the foundation of your interpretation of Scripture, as if we Catholics here do not know the Scripture ourselves.
You accused me of fideism in your previous quote of this same post… " your only defense of that interpretation is that you believe it".
That’s not fideism. Look it up. Fideism is the belief that faith
cannot be supported by reason. When I tell you that you
are not supported your faith by reason, I’m not accusing you of fideism: I’m accusing you of being irrational. Only if I accused you of making the claim that faith
cannot be supported by reason would I be accusing you of fideism.
Perhaps you should
learn theological terms before you sling them about in an attempt to distract.

You’ve provided little to no substantiation for your arguments. Your arguments, in large part, have amounted to, “I don’t agree. I like this interpretation better.” You rarely, if ever, explain what it is inadeqate about an opposing interpretation.
That’s a cop out, and lazy apologetics. You have proven nothing against my arguments with that statement, which is why I don’t think you have a good argument.
How is it a cop out? I can point to 2,000 years of Church tradition, the earliest apostles, and an utterly consistent and parsimonious interpretation of Scripture on this point. You have pointed to
nothing of the kind, and you expect me to accept your argument?
Well, give them to me… again… and I will refute them… again.
I’m not going to post all my arguments again to make up for your lack of reading skills. They’re already there. Re-read them if you care to reply to them.
So, why are you here debating these topics? If you have no truth other than what the Catholic Church gives you, why do you attempt to explain scripture?
I’ve believed the truth of the necessity of baptism for salvation since before I was ever Catholic. I was “excommunicated” from a (baptist) high school Christian group because I couldn’t be kept quiet about it. So don’t even
pretend that I “have no truth other than what the Catholic Church gives” me.
