I like what Paul told Timothy on how to conduct yourself with those that we disagree with…

And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will. - Paul
Amen amen:thumbsup:

All those who are united to Christ already have the fulness. What more is there if you are in Christ?
You may not initially believe this, but to be in our Lord’s physical presence, to experience miracles before Him, to eat His Body and drink His Blood as He commanded will simply leave you in a state of spiritual ecstasy. I am speaking of our Eucharistic Lord - Emmanuel, God with us, even to the end of the age.

If you are so disposed and have a few minutes, feel free to read this Evangelical man’s testimony. There are ever so many more testimonies, all cases of those who love Jesus deeply, but knew in their hearts that there was more:

Before our Lord, I pray that I am able to lead you to a new level of “fulness”. Amen!

I partake in communion and eat His body and drink His blood.

This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.” - Jesus

It seems that this thread is now moving toward a discussion of the sacraments of Holy Communion and Holy Orders.

You may want to start a new thread. 🙂

Here is something else that alot of people may or may not know.
Now Protestants go against the teachings of the Church and agree with Luther. Here it comes. Luther believed in the Baptism of infants also.
Rinnie,

So true, This goes to show that Martin Luther, the Leader of the Protestant Reformation Built his man made house/his church on sand, and not on ROCK! This is the reason why the Protestant churches keeps breaking away into thousands of pieces different churches with different Bible interpretations because it was founded on sand. Jesus Christ, built His HOUSE/CHURCH on solid Rock with a PROMISE "that the gates of hell shall not prevail over it. Amen

Jesus Christ, knew there were going to be foolish men like Martin Luther, who would not listen to Jesus Christ words. Read the Bible verse below:

Matt 7: 26) 26 And every one that heareth these my words, and doth them not, shall be like a foolish man that built his house upon the sand, 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and they beat upon that house, and it fell, and great was the fall thereof.

Since the the Protestant reformation, the rain fell, and floods came and the winds blew and beat on that protestant churches and it has fallen and great was the fall thereof again this is why there is over thousand and thousands of different protestants churches…

If these points have already been made I apologize:
  1. “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them.”
2.The Old Covenent commanded infant circumcision without the infants consent. The parents consented for him. Why should it be any differnt in the New Covenent?

These points have been made many times. But it is always a good reminder. However, those who deny infant baptism do not accept these Scriptural truths.

Instead of coming back and apologize, Kcmekim disappeared immediately after I notified in post # 708 that he has falsified one of my posts. I am still waiting for his apology and hope he won’t re-appear under a new username.

It was also right after he was called out on the carpet as to whether he considered Catholics to be Christians. 😦

Yes I agree with you. Trust me I am not a big Luther fan at all. But my point is Luther who didn’t agree with many of the teachings of the Church, Even HE agreed with infant baptism. But like you mentioned its just a Protestant breaking off of a Protestant (Noted).

I agree Luther was the first to break off of the Church, but even though he did that is one church teaching he obeyed!👍

I am wondering if this means that you do not think Catholics are Christians. What do you mean by “your religion”? I hope that this seemingly bigoted comment was a slip of the keyboard. 😦
I mean the same thing Catholics mean when they refer to “my religion”.

Fortunately Mickey, you are only under a “Patriarch” and not an evil pope, so the Orthodox Church passes muster. 👍 Let’s hope he does not research the root word of both “Papa” and “Patriarch”!

So, Baptism does not replace the old covenant’s requirement of circumcision?
No.
If the College of Bishops and the Pope (or Patriarch) have no authority to make pronouncements on faith and morals, how on earth do your leaders have any authority?
It’s the word of God that has the authority, not any man.
Again, Baptist practice appears to have nothing at all to do with the bible. It has EVERYTHING to do with man’s private interpretation of the bible.
Really? Can you give me any examples of any of our doctrines that aren’t based on scripture?
Mickey has even given you the dates and men’s names who decided what you believe and practice.
Just as I can give you names of popes who have decided what you believe and practice.
It is all based on men’s decisions made outside of the authority of the Church.
You keep saying that, but if we reject the authority of the church, how do you explain all of the creeds and confessions and catechisms we have from the church?
While you reject the authority of Bishops and the Pope, you implicitly follow the “directives” of self-appointed men without any authority from God whatsoever!
Yes, I understand you believe this, but the Bible says that they were appointed by God, so I will choose to believe the Bible.

I mean the same thing Catholics mean when they refer to “my religion”.
Dude, (and I mean that only in the most cool sense of the term), you, for all intents and purposes, are preaching a different gospel here. Why are you pounding on us, and not preaching to the unconverted? That tells us an awful lot about what you actually believe.

Actually, they do. Their “Baptist Directives” are a written form of sacred tradition that they follow. You and I see no foundation for them, but they are held sacred anyway.
I’m going to assume you mean “Baptist Distinctives”. The fact that you don’t know what they’re called is a good sign that you probably don’t know what you’re talking about.

But, anyhoo, no, we don’t consider them sacred at all.
But, since they change from time to time, just how sacred are they?
Really? When did they ever change?
