yes there is a thread in the apologetics forum about this… you may find more people there because it has been a popular thread
That’s too funny!!! I was just about to sign up yesterday too… sniff… sniff… :crying:Several CA members have been active over at the baptist.org site’s Catholicism forum for a couple of weeks and I was surprised that we were allowed to present our side for so long. Usually those sites block Catholics from posting almost immediately. The moderator Bill Jackson had responded last week to my statement that John Smyth founded the Baptist movement by stating that Jesus founded his church. A Baptist forum member confirmed John Smyth was the founder with some encyclopedia entries this evening. When I tried to post later, I got a message stating “We’re sorry. Only moderators can post here.”
Bill Jackson gave this public response:
Martyrs Mirror gives an account of Anabaptista being persecuted back to Apostolic times. **
www.dodone.org/NA.html gives more Baptistic groups. The name “Baptist” was given as a slur. Baptist groups were around under many different names. One reason their history is hard to trace is because you Catholics killed all of them you could and then rewrote their histories…**
It’s a shame because now I can’t respond appropriately to this from another poster:
**Well, Eden, we do celebrate the birth of our Lord and since the exact date is not stated in the scriptures thiugh, we do know it certainly isn’t Dec. 25 we do honor His birth on that date. surely you aren’t going to presume that date was set by the catholic church are you? **
For if you will do a simple search of that particular holiday Christmas was originally celebrated in January but, president F.D.R. moved it back to the last month of the year for tax reasons to assist retail merchandisers to move out merchandise before the first of the year and give them a break on their taxes paid on stock on hand.
All I can say is it’s great to be home (back at CA). I feel like I just left the twilight zone!
Interesting because they did not delete the post, it’s still there along with a response to it.wow. the Christian message board put me on coffee break too. and I just joined last night!! Was it something I said? Here’s what I posted under their topic thread: (my name over there is Butterflygal) Christ Life > GOD IN ACTION bibleforums.org/forum/images/misc/navbits_finallink.gif **What do you feel is the biggest thing wrong with the modern-day Church? **
Well, IMHO, I think it is the lack of authority and the fact that there are so many different Christian denominations…which one is right? who do we follow? does anyone really believe that Jesus will return for a bride (His Church) that is divided and at odds with herself?
“Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are.” John 17:11 NKJ
Peace –
Butterflygal

Hiya charity, i ventured over to the baptist board aswell, using the same name though. Just like to point out i loved your posts! Brilliant, a severe lack of responses to them i noticed. Keep up the good work.Seems the Catholics were kicked off this website. I posted there as “Charity”. If you want to keep in touch, please PM me on this board.
The Baptists ran out of Biblical answers to Catholic questions, so they cut and run.

Hiya Eden. Like to point out that reading your posts on that baptist site was such a breath of fresh air. You sounded like a HEAVYWEIGHT apologist. Amazing. When they responded, you wiped the floor with them every time. Keep it up!All I can say is it’s great to be home (back at CA). I feel like I just left the twilight zone!
I’d have to agree…charity and Eden did a remarkable job over there, ably assisted by a strong cast. I’ve been posting on and off for a year or more, with some strong Catholic posters who came and went, and it was such treat finally to see a larger group of knowledgable Catholics who were able to call them to account for the stuff they were saying. In the words of one poster there, the crickets are now chirping in that forum.Hiya charity, i ventured over to the baptist board aswell, using the same name though. QUOTE]I’ll say this though, on my lamest days away from the church, I was one of the most upfront and no fear “witnesses” they’ve ever seen. Now, I’m an n-C’s worst nightmare.
Boy do I agree with you on this one.I would love to try my hand at that board, mentioning that my Church was the only one formed by the second person of the Trinity, that there was only one universal Christian Church from 33AD to some sixteen hundred years later.
I believe that the protestants only exist because they wanted to do something or didn’t want to do something the Church teaches. OSAS makes no sense, unless we could simply become perfect and never sin again. Not having any way to reconcile your sins, except simply asking God to forgive them? Shoot, that’s easy. It’s way easier than a regular examination of conscience, then organizing them by kind and number and confessing them to a Priest, followed by performing your penance. It would just be too hard for them.
And the Eucharist. I get to have the Precious Body and Blood of Christ coursing through my veins, all the time. He is presence is always with me. They don’t even think were Christians.
I’m gonna watch that thread, and I hope some of the more knowlegeable, charitable posters from this forum make it over there. I’m just too Chicken.
I first started with BrotherLee but they deleted all my posts and “Coffee Break’d” me, then I signed on as BelovedDisciple2 and tried a different approach…“Coffee Break” time again, lol. I guess they can’t handle anything that even sounds remotely Catholic.Seems the Catholics were kicked off this website. I posted there as “Charity”. **Cafeteria Catholic is just a politicly correct term for heritic.
Thats part of my signiture, not my post, and I thought I removed that from my signiture cause it might offend people. I didn’t think it was still in there.Dear Andrew_11,

I’m with you on that!Hi, Church Militant,

Who’s game? If you are charitable, and know your stuff, go ahead and correct this poor child. This sort of thing should not go on without Catholics speaking for Catholics.
This thread was conjoined with another thread by Michael Francis last night. Apparently Baptist.org is locking out the Catholics, because we’re exposing the errors in their understanding of the Catholic Church.Hey all, I think I am confused about the titel of this thread.
It says Baptist.org is closed to all catholics, but the date is July 28. I have been posting over there on the catholic forum until yesterday. Today it won’t let me post without moderator priviledges.
At any rate why does this post talking about Baptist.org have an earlier date on it???
