Maybe you guys ought to just leave them alone. It’s apparant they don’t want to hear defense of the Church. You’re only going to frustrate yourselves. Surely there are other boards that are open to discussion of the Church.

I signed up as well, under the name BrotherLee, I am going to try a much different approach than what comes natural to me…before I start asking leading questions, I am going to get on their good side a little bit.

Do not, repeat DO NOT post your username that you have there in this thread.
Also, you will get banned if you use the word Catholic. There are ways to go about showing these kinds of people the truth without specifically saying “CATHOLIC! CATHOLIC!”
I post there, but I don’t use the buzz words of Catholic, infallible, etc.
They are, shall we say, not attentive enough to realize certain replies are completely Catholic. Like most reactionaries, they only snap when the buzz words set them off.

Stupid and malicious? I didn’t see any of that. I saw GRAVELY MISTAKEN, but not plain old dumb, and nobody was vicious. I think they’re otherwise normal people, but the frame of reference they’re working in is small and airless. That might lend to the “stupid” impression. Still, you want to take some of them by the neck and shake them, screaming, “Take the next step! Can’t you see the logical conclusion of your thinking? Can’t you see the absurdities that will wreak???”

One of the moderators over there was so benighted and vehement in her assertion of poisonous “inaccuracies” about the Church and in flinging around Jack Chick-type language that I was unable to attribute any motive other than malice or any reason other than pure stupidity, since the merest nod in the direction of authentic Catholic teaching would have set the matter straight.
You are a better man than I, and I admire you for it. I’ll be praying for you.

I appreciate the prayers and compliments, but I was one of the first to be fed to the lions. I no longer have access priveleges. Ah well.
I’m glad I didn’t see any of that stuff, though. Other mods told me they deleted that “Pope is the anti-Christ stuff” immediately. Like everything else there, that standard appears to be more than a little subjective.

It is so nice to see others passing on the torch and keeping the light burning…
I ran a message board and managed another with a friend…we had many a Protestant with a closed mind come on and spout errors and verses. Verses are good till you read the ones before and after… oops
I burned out bad after years of the 'git ‘r done’ mentality. Lack of support egged it on. I would be over there helping, but I would be banned after a few, being such a tell tale Catholic.
So while you fella are out there teaching the kids that should already ‘know’ better, I will continue spending my mine teaching kids in the classroom (CCD). Maybe if I do my job good enough, y’all might get to retire out of the catacombs in a generation…

Why is it called a Christian thread as opposed to a protestant board? That doesn’t make sense to me. A christian board implies that you are open to all people who call themselves Christian, including Catholics. If your goal is to support only Protestant beliefs then you should call yourself something else.
