Answer me this! If Mary RULES alongside of God in heaven, then how many rulers from heaven do we have? Is God the ruler of your life or is it God and Mary? How can one rule WITH God and yet not be divine?

“if we endure, we will also reign with him.” (2 Tim 2:12)

Sarah Jane:
In Old Testament times, the Queen of Israel was not the King’s wife, because the king had many wives, but rather his mother.

Mary is the mother of Jesus-Christ, the King.
There is a verse in the Bible that speaks of a “queen of heaven”, but she is not what you think. Look at Jeremiah 7:18. It is dangerous to use this title as it denigrates our Lord’s mother.

Let’s retire to our corners for moment…

Did Michael say that Mary rules in the sense that she has some kind of authority reserved only to God? I took a quick peek at the past posts and did not see that he did but I could have missed it. Also, he quoted from the Catechism and there I did not see any reference to her ruling. Let’s back up and make sure we attack the right animal.

Sarah Jane

Those who surround the throne of God are ONLY twenty four in number, as are the four beasts. This cannot picture all the MILLIONS of departed saints in heaven. These are created angels with great authority. They are also present in Rev chap 7:9-15 where the great crowd of martyred spirits stand before the throne. These elders ask who this great crowd is? This proves that the 24 elders cannot picture the entire body of the church, but are angelic beings God has created to serve him.

This verse talks about Ichtar. Mary is not the goddess Ichtar.

Zeus was called “God of god”. Do you think that he is the same person than God The Father because they have the same name? (Psalm 136:2)

“There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.” (Rev 22:5)

Sarah Jane:
God and Satan cannot “cohabit”.
Please explain your theology behind the idea of things belonging to Satan. I’m trying to understand where you are coming from, but can’t get it through my skull. 🙂

Code:
No one rules alongside the Triune God from heaven. He is seated on his throne in the unapproachable light and none can look upon his glory. All living creatures in heaven fall prostrate before his presence in heaven and that includes Mary.

This is very dangerous ground. Who came up with the title, “queen of heaven”?

God cannot belong to sin, because God hates sin.

Although SarahJane, you and I are arguing in favor if the Marian dogmas, I wonder if you are suggesting that it was strictly necessary for God to preserve Mary from Original Sin. My understanding is that Church does not teach that God absolutely had to do it that way, merely that it was fitting and proper.

I agree with you, but “we will reign for ever and ever” (Rev 22:5).

For me, this is an incongruity to suppose that the flesh, from which the flesh of the Son of God was to be formed, should ever have belonged to Satan.

I have no idea what you mean by “honor her perfectly”.
Isn’t the Son perfect? Since He was born of the Virgin and became flesh? The Son assuming our human nature became obedient to the law (10 Commandments). He was a Jew. He observed all that was commanded in the law. He was circumcised, prayed, fast, etc. He followed the 10 Commandments, particularly on “honoring your father and mother” in a perfect way than we do. He honored His Mother perfectly, as much as His stepfather Joseph. Did you get what it means by honoring her?

Pray for humility.

Nowhere is it said that she is sinless - as some posters have claimed.
But does the Bible says she has sinned? If Adam and Eve were created without sin, would God also not able to do it to Mary? Mama Mary is the Father’s perfect masterpiece. She is the one who the Song of Songs points out*–“You are all-beautiful, my beloved, and there is no blemish in you.”(Song of Songs 4:7)*
In another passage it says: "*I heard my lover knocking:
“Open to me, my sister, my beloved,
my dove, my perfect one!” (Song of Songs 5:2) *

AMEN.

Pio, so to answer my question - you are saying that Jesus was obedient to her in every way - that He obeyed her and honored her “perfectly” and that we are to also obey her and honor her “perfectly”. Am I understanding you correctly? I’m not being arrogant. I’m simply asking the question. Am I exhibiting humility in my posts or am I acting arrogantly?

I agree.

Consider Gen 3:15, “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”

The seed is Jesus and the woman is Mary. (In one of the senses of Scripture.) Mary COULD therefore never belong to Satan. They are on opposite sides.

Also recall Mary as the ark (Rev 11:19-12:1) and its purity. When Uzzah touched the ark, he was destroyed (2Sam 6:6-7). God preserves the purity of the “holder of the Word”, Mary.

Great question ahimsaman72! Perfect obedience to Mary: what are Mary’s last recorded word in Scripture?

"Do whatever he [Jesus] tells you."

It works for me!
