Oh well, not everybody’s gonna like everything. I was actually pleasantly surprised at that song because most of the TV theme songs of today are trash in my opinion.

There certainly aren’t any really memorable ones these days.

Yes, ‘Welcome Back Kotter’ theme song is one of my favorites as well.

John Sebastian was the lead singer of the ‘Lovin’ Spoonful’ if I recall correctly. He had a very pleasant sounding voice.

Yes, I became a huge latter-day fan of all his work due to that song. I was about 2 years old when the Lovin’ Spoonful were popular so I barely was aware of them (My mother did used to sing “Rain on the Roof” around the house when I was a wee child and it rained).
Unfortunately he has had to have a lot of throat operations in the last 20 years and sounds completely different like an old bluesman now.

Not my favorite theme, but certainly a memorable series:

I played this song for the little Glennons awhile back and they were terrified. My youngest (a smart aleck of the highest order just like the Old Man) said, “I always wondered what it would be like to be on LSD. Now I know.”

Sorry to hear about his health issues that affected his voice. ‘Do You Believe in Magic’ was probably my favorite song of theirs as a young boy.
I remember it mainly because my older sisters listened to ‘American Bandstand‘ and played similar songs on their radios.

Don’t show them Lidsville, which was even more replete with drug references.

Edited to add, I can’t believe I watched Pufnstuf for years as a kid and never realized that was Jack Wild playing the lead till now.

I had totally forgotten that catchy little song. So glad you mentioned it, Glennon.

Fonzie and Richie.

Fonzie knew Laverne, and I guess dated before.

Shirley and Richie were set up.

Richie wore a jacket and tie with a pocket square.

Laverne points at it and says, “Is that for showing or for blowing?”

Lol

Yeah, that happens to me sometimes when I keep singing the same song at home for awhile out loud.

My wife eventually gets annoyed and calls out, “Tommy, Change the track!”

the theme song from Gilligan’s Island
I’m not 100% sure this is true…but I’ve heard a story that the scenes for the theme song were filmed on November 22, 1963, the day President Kennedy was shot. In the video of the S.S. Minnow leaving the harbor, there is an American flag in the background and while it’s not flying at half-staff it is definitely not flying at the top of the flagpole. :21 in the video:

There are lyrics to that song:

Wow, talk about attention to detail! 👍. You ought to be a detective like Father Brown, which is another TV series I like.

Love Boat is another one I liked but got covered up by the cobwebs of my mind over the years.

“… and love, life’s sweetest reward…”.

The theme song for Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events is appropriately dark. They change up the lyrics for each set of two episodes (and I’m presuming, the finale, which is just one episode - haven’t gotten that far yet).

This is the theme for the premiere episode:
