…that anyone believes they can call forth demons and devils and work spells is beyond me in this day and age…superstition and magic will be with us a long time I fear.
Call me crazy (won’t be the first time it has happened 😃 ) but there are things out there that we don’t understand and cannot be explained by science at this time. I saw some pretty strange things in my years as a pagan.

I would like to believe that “occult” powers exist…that would be an easy answer. We need “mysterious” and “occult” happenings to explain the unexplainable in our present understanding…believing that “satan” is causing something to occur other than an over active imagination or our own gulliblility saves “face”…it gives us credibility…it is a great defense mechanism to blame “satan” when we get involved in such things and participate in it as “truth”.

I do not believe you are “crazy”…I understand…you must believe because you were involved with it…it’s much easier to explain it as “magic/spells/satan/ghosts/demons” than the alternative…our own imaginations running wild and holding onto “magic”.

I’ve had this discussion with my sister who was into Wicca…she is now Baptist…she claims to have conjured our mom on the Halloweeen after her death and spoke to her…grief and desire are powerful things to deal with.

🤷 If you haven’t seen it or experienced it for yourself, you can’t know.

I do understand your feelings on the matter. My sister and I have the same discussions and she says the same thing…and I guess it all gets down to experience. Perhaps one ‘occult’ teaching has value…“we create our own reality”, it sure seems to be very pervasive and difficult to explain.

Anyone who recommends the study of the occult for ANY reason, including to know what to look for in prevention, should be looked into seriously. This is a tactic of certain persons to create a “fall” of christians and they believe to gain a higher in placing in the “mantle” by doing this. Beware of wolves in sheeps clothing, Tim
Please. This is just more fabricated bee-ess in a dark package.

There’s a standing offer of 1000 dollars for anyone who can conjure up Satan or some comparable demon for a quick magic (or is that magick? LOL!) show. Send him to my house and have him do some convincing trick, and I’ll pay up – and will publicly acknowledge the power of the conjurer, and will convert to whatever occultnik nonsense manages to be so convincing.

I don’t entirely disagree with you here. There’s a lot of occultnik stuff (Wicca, LaVeyan Satanism, etc.) which is just so much theatre, and I think that’s fine. There is some of this crapola (not the above) that is incredibly negative. Anyone who is involved in harming people or animals, vandalism, or other criminal behavior needs to see a professional.
