Actually, what I love about the JWs is you can prove Orthodox dogma in spite of the twisting. I have a copy I’ve marked up.Read the JW version of John 1:1
for example! They changed translations there along with 3 or 4 other areas to twist it into there theology.
For instance, they deny the immortality of the soul, that once you die you cease to exist, and yet in their translation of St. Luke (I think, I don’t have it on hand right now) of the Transfiguration, they say about Moses that “it actually was Moses” (i.e. they affirm it was Moses, instead of denying it, like they do by putting quotation marks around Samuel in the episode of Saul and the witch of Endor). Problem? Look at their translation of Deuteronomy. Moses is dead, which would mean he ceased to exist according to their “theology.” How can it “actuall” be a non-existent person?
But back to you Uzzah.
Why are you upset about this? How do know that us corrupt Orthodox and Catholics who copied the Bible all the way up to 1517 didn’t also twist the wording to suit our theology? The muslims say as much. Why do you trust our word over theirs?
