Yes, I’m angry and hateful about what was done? However, I cannot hate and be angry at you, Ate Salve and all the BNP people including my children for the acts made, because just like me, I sin. this group was founded in 1968 in the Philippines. As of this writing, the group is celebrating its 40th year in the Philippines, all graduates and members coming different countries and continents like Australia and Europe. There will be a concelebrated mass to be officiated by Priests and Cardinals from different cities in the Philippines and in other countries. One Parish priest said in 1972, if this movement if a work of God, it will stay, if not, I will give it 5 years…now, 2008,…going strong, reaching out to almost the 4 corners of the world…no amount of word can explain…but a moment of experience can tell…
 
I do not know much about the origin of the acryomn BNP other than British National Party but I do know that they advocate the suppression of all religion.

They do not object to privately held beliefs but if they came to power, they would forbid and punish anyone who openly and publically professed belief in any organised religion.

Religious parades and processions would be banned. The Walk of Witness at Walsingham and similar shrines for example would become an illegal act, the perpetrators arrested and punished.

Our Easter Vigil would not be allowed to commence outside from the Church building as that would be deemed a public place.

So BNP would have a major impact on traditional Catholic worship if they were able to achieve a Government. 😦

The BNP the OP was talking about is a movement among Filipino Catholics. Supporters say it’s a wonderful movement, opponents say it is a cult. They have been banned (in the words of one bishop) from a few dioceses in the US and the Philippines.

I will break my own rule about entering threads that have gone downhill , because I see something that should never be done .
the words of our Lord Jesus Christ were not meant to be used as cudgels to hammer in a point , they were meant to be spread with love and joy .
Besides that ,I think you are quoting from the NIV Bilble which is not accepted by the Catholic church and most Protestant denominations ,
You don’t even know your own Bible and you want to teach theology?
next time look for the IMPRIMATUR before you start quoting
Scripture.

That’s kind of ironic, given that the BNP are banned by some bishops, the same men responsible for issuing Imprimaturs.
 
The NIV Bible has never had a Catholic Church acceptance .AT least, the one I have does not have an IMPRIMATUR from any
Catholic entity . They cannot give it the NIHIL OBSTAT statement, because it ( the NIV Bible ) takes too many passages out .
It doesn’t even contain the doxology , But that issue is discussed in another thread .

On a personal note , the NIV was given to me , I would never purchase such a disgraceful butchery of the Holy Bible.

I’m sorry, I admit I’m still really ignorant about the bible and thank you for helping me to be aware of it. I did not use the NIV version. The quotes I used were from ***“NEW TESTAMENT in Today’s English Version by American Bible Society, 1992. Imprimatur: Most Reverend William H. Keeler, D.D., President, National Conference of Catholic Bishops. ***This bible was issued by our local parish to my son when he went to confirmation class.

I think, you are writing with a lot of authority that your knowledge and understanding is superior to many. May I remind your statement to me about humility.

If this bible was not accepted by the Catholic Church, maybe you should write to our Oakland Diocese that they issued wrong bibles to teach the children.

I noticed the more I read the bible, the more I am being alarmed about the BNP movement and Ate Salve. If BNP had not been banned by the church, I would be working with you.

May I suggest to the BNP to get approval from the bishop or parish in all places where meetings or retreats are made. I wrote earlier that BNP had been doing these retreats and meetings “underground” because to my knowledge, none of the BNP gathering was approved by the church. BNP may state the meetings are open to anyone but that’s a freedom we enjoy in our country. I can’t stop you but I will work hard to let other people know the church’s position towards BNP. BNP maybe growing more but to me, BNP had been arrogant and a new breakaway religion from the Catholic Church. I don’t really know the full history, but to me, that was similar to Martin Luther’s start of the Reformation.

I want to send this message in a manner to unite us again with the Catholic Church. I don’t judge BNP, I’ll leave that to our Lord, Jesus Christ. My statements were my opinions. I made mistakes and may make them again. If anything I wrote again was offensive, I sincerely offer my apologies however I request that we come together to obey the teachings and instructions of our church. Let us embrace the truth that may hurt but will set us free.

To quote from the Bible and not explain what you mean is to use the words of Jesus Christ as ammunition. It’s llike shouting it out in anger ( you used capitals even ) . Where’s the love and joy of the Living Word in that .

Timothy called the Church as the pillar and the bulwark of truth ( this is a direct translation from the original Greek). It is also in the KJB . If you are not quoting the NIV , then I apologize.

You are asking us to get approval to use our own facilities??
Isn’t that like asking the city to approve the use of your own house?
The retreat classes are held in the BNP facilities , These classes are open to the public and the retreatants are free to attend or not to attend . Food and other essentials are provided for free. After the retreat if the participants do not want to participate further in the BNP activities, no one in the BNP will force them to do so.

I again restate that your problem is not with the BNP but with your anger towards what you perceive as disrespect towards your person. Unfortunately you are the only person that can resolve that.
It took our Lord Jesus Christ three years before he could tell the apostles what their mission was. That is 3 years of living daily with the Lord. You attend one BNP activity and then you sit in judgement on us , Think about it.

I repeat, one of my problems is with the BNP and Ate Salve when I learned my children and I were deceived. Are you a psychologist or a counselor? I think you are very far from helping to counsel a person. I hope I’m not insulting but I didn’t see any good counseling or advice from your declarations. Please, go back to your writings. I noticed a lot of denials, accusations and anger, too.

I meant the bible quotations for Ate Salve whom I said was faking God and the acts she did representing as God and the BNP staff and members who refuse to comply and honor church instructions. My message here was all about BNP’s defiance and disobedience to the church and deception to new members that BNP had been banned by the church but still continue to attract members.

I think you demonstrated to focus away the topic of this thread that I didn’t start which were about Ate Salve and the BNP movement. I shared my experiences and wrote my opinion.

Answers

1.The BNP movement’s membership is 99 % Catholic. The rest are made up of other Christian denomunations . We never defied the Catholic Church , did you find anything where the BNP challenged the Magisterium . We are an apostolic lay movement.
Some dioceses issued interdicts against the BNP members and movement. Some dioceses supported the BNP movement. It is not our intent to foment dissension, but that is what happened. We just wanted to conduct retreats , Marian devotions and vigil adorations.
  1. Ate salve is the founder and the current Chairperson of the BNP movement .
  2. The BNP is not a new church. It is lay ministry. We spread the Catholic faith and we apostolate.In fact if you personally go to
    the BNP House of Prayer there is a Holy Mass conducted every Sunday at 12:00 noon and 6:00 PM.
4 .The BNP House of Prayer was built to hold retreat classes . Before the HOP was built the BNP retreat classes were conducted anywhere we could afford to rent. Retreat classes were held in warehouses, high schools , church halls , private homes and other venues.
The CAC ( Cultural and Arts Center ) was built because our youth did not have a gym ( we rented the Arena in the city of Upland before the CAC built, if you want to check their records ) to hold their SporstFest and other activities, and also because the House of Prayer could no longer hold the overflowing crowds during our Holy Week activities.

5.Mahal Na Ingkong is a word we use for God in the BNP. This is a topic that is better discussed one on one. I can only tell you that we’ve had had retreatants who are priests and they have acknowleged Mahal Na Ingkong as God.

6.The BNP movement’s mission statement is posted at the entrance of the House of Prayer. It is basically to spread the Good News of the redemptive sacrifice of Jesus Christ throughout the whole world.

Deception happens when I promise something and give you something else . or when I actually do something else ,other than what I say.When did the BNP deceive you? If you claim that there was deception , why didn’t your children leave after nine years ? Surely , as adults they can perceive deception as easily as you can

I am not a psychoanalyst , just a good reader , anyone can tell by your posts that you are hurt by the alleged disrespect you feel from child or children. Your anger shows everytime you write something. I don’t have to be a psychiatrist to see that…

Thank you for your reply from my questions however, I did not get an answer how Jesus Christ found the BNP. It is explained during the retreat how Ate Salve encountered Jesus Christ who introduced Himself to her as Inkong.

I have more questions;
  1. Do you believe that it was Jesus Christ in the presence of Ate Salve who was talking every Good Friday night at the BNP compound in Ontario California? I believe that it is the Holy Spirit that is using Ate Salve as an instrument.
  2. Do you believe Ate Salve was possessed by Jesus Christ and grew taller while talking on Good Friday night? No I don’t believe she was possessed, possession is forceful and is not from God, Ate Salve has willfully let the Holy Spirit indwell in her.
  3. Do you believe Jesus Christ used Ate Salve to carry the cross on some Good Friday night? I have experienced this and I do believe that it was the Holy Spirit using Ate Salve to carry the cross.
  4. Do you believe that it was Jesus Christ in the presence of Ate Salve who came down from the stage on Good Friday night and approached the congregation who were kneeling and praying to give blessings (raising her hands)? I’m not sure if I was there for this but as I said above that I do believe that the Holy Spirit indwells in Ate Salve.
  5. Do you believe Jesus Christ used Ate Salve to speak like Him? Again I believe that the Holy Spirit uses Ate Salve to speak to people and to share His messages, I have experienced this a few times and have spoken to Him and He has spoken to me.
  6. Can you relate more stories and miracles performed by Ate Salve when Jesus Christ used her? The only miracle that I can share with you is the miracle of my own life being changed for the better (as I had posted in the other thread(s), going from a life of not knowing God at all, to going to a BNP retreat and wanting to learn more about Him through my local parish as well as BNP activities, and to further develop my relationship with God)

My oh my, gentlemen, I’m sensing tension here with “herc”, brothers, let us remember that for those like us who believe, no explanation is necessary, for those who do not, no explanation is possible. “Herc” is obviously a believer in our Lord and that is a very good thing. As much as we love our BNP, we cannot make everyone understand the gift with with we live everyday, and if folks wish to stop at mere belief that is OK. One day I hope “herc” will come to a retreat and enjoy the experiences we have, but until then, let us not engage in argument with one who is clearly prejuduced. Let us wish him all God’s blessings and all the luck in the world in looking for whatever it is he’s looking for, and of course let us agree that indeed, BNP members look to the Catholic church when of course we are not engaged in our activities. :o

Please allow me to make my stance clear . It is OK not to believe in the BNP and Mahal Na Ingkong , God is the only one that can change a man’s ( or woman’s ) heart . God gave us the free will and discernment to tell between right and wrong ,

But it is absolutely not right ,morally and ethically to atttack the
reputation of the BNP mission and its leaders using prevarications and half truths. There has been accusations of fiscal irregularities, adultery, idolatry , and deception posted here in this thread , but no proof or evidence presented.

may God continue to shower his blessings on us all.
 
Yeah I know what you mean. Sad isn’t it? Seems that prejudice is easier to rely on than actually seeking out the truth. Keep your head up though brother, and pray for guys like that. 👍

OK, Ate Salve is a chairperson and founder (humanizing her in order take away any ideas that she transforms into Jesus). Then the lady becomes an instrument for the movement. Then the lady became the conduit for the Holy Spirit.

Bro, you guys are full of rhetoric. The lady dressed up like Jesus and walked around with a cross around people and touching their hands. That is a mockery of the Blessed Sacrifice.

Now, you may say “Well, there are other people who do the same sacrifices, crucifying themselves, etc, to cleanse them of sins during Holy Week”. Yea sure, but THEY DO NOT ASK PEOPLE TO JOIN THEM AND CHARGE THEM MILLIONS altogether (meaning money here and there from everyone gathering in the millions of dollars).

They do that to themselves as their own sacrifice. Yes it is controversial. But the difference is, again, they don’t collect millions from people they lead.

I saw those tapes, I was a witness to the retreat. The lady is glorified and borderline-worshiped and adored. She pretends to lower her voice to convince people she is Holy Spirit incarnate.

Someone asked you whether or not Ate Salve becomes Jesus and you said she lets the Holy Spirit willfully into her. Do you believe that the Holy Spirit is not Jesus and is instead something else?

He asked you a straighforward yes or no question and you answered nuance rhetoric.

Just admit it, you guys want to brainwash people into a belief FAR DIFFERENT FROM the Catholic Faith but you use the Catholic Faith as a selling point to convince people to join you and the only reason is to COLLECT MONEY in the end.

Don’t you lecture us about “believe without seeing” because we are Catholics. We already understand that and live that everytime we take the Holy Eucharist and listen to the Liturgy. But as Catholics, we are also smart and not gullible. Apparently, you guys are not faithful Catholics because it has to take this BNP **** to convince you of Jesus while WE don’t have to.

God bless and my the Holy Spirit show His wrath to that lady for the Mockery and deception she does to people.

My friend, no one’s forcing you to join anything, and no one’s forcing you to give money. I know of NO ONE who is forced or coerced into giving money to this organization. That is a rediculous, blatant lie. Remember - thou shalt not tell a lie. :tsktsk:

Truly you do not know what you are talking about. I wish there was a commandment that dealt strictly with the issue of prejudice - you would do good to obide by it.:ouch:
