Is that all you can respond to? Misery loves company, you two make good companions - no offense.
😃 Thanks for the laugh. With that, I’m going to try to beat this insomnia and get some sleep. g’nite, for real.

it, what it? what prophecy? you seem to twist the bible more than your avg mormon.
BoM actually.
fyi…Isaiah prophesied of Jesus Christ, not of the BoM.
TBOM quotes which Isaiah passages apply to it, there is no guessing which ones.
Look beyond JS? Funny, that one. Joe was most likely baptized, since he did join the Methodist church.
Attended/aligned/joined does not equate with being baptized. They kept good records, there is no record he was baptized.
The BoM is not scripture, other than the parts plagiarized from the KJV.
That’s not what it says. TBOM has some of the most powerful preaching, the richest revelations, how can you not be amazed? Oh, I forgot, you have blinders on. Please take them off!
Judge the book for itself? I agree with Mark Twain on that point.
If you will base your discernment on Twain, you will at least enjoy his company in the next life. I hope he is worth it. Why not ask JESUS!

Thanks for the note regarding verse 66:

Notice the word “freely” compared to going through a High Priest in times past. Wow!

Actually, D&C 10 contains even more insights:

What a blessing to have another book of scripture that paralled the Bible! By comparing them both, all disputations are off.

Add to that the word of the Lord in D&C 10, and “the church” and “gospel” are forever locked as simple.

The power to baptize is inherent in the name of Jesus Christ, like casting out demons, healing the sick, and raising the dead:

Moroni said if the day ever came that those things stopped among men, it would be due to a lack of faith, not priesthood:

The tragedy among the followers of Joseph or any priesthood believing group is, it has replaced where our faith is meant to be today. This is no longer Old Testament style, it is Jesus’ style.

Add to that the many Christians experiencing miracles today - without “priesthood authority.” We have true servants of Christ who witness that they have seen him; that they have been to the Holy City and seen the Father - all without Joseph’s ideology.

Check out Richard Sigmund’s “A Place Called Heaven” or Jesse Duplantis’ “Close Encounters of the God King” for a start. Later, monitor who Sid Roth interviews, there are so many walking with Christ - with no “priesthood.” On the other hand, those claiming special authority hardly ever manifest the power of God.

Joseph did experience God, and many of his early followers had faith in Christ and moved mountains. But after the next generation came along with a faith in all things Joseph, the power gradually diminished until now it is almost gone.

.
The Catholic Church has seen one miracle after another since its inception. Every time a Saint is declared, it requires at least two miracles for that person to be declared a Saint. These miracles are not dependent upon some kind of priesthood power, but are accomplished through faith in Christ’s power through the intercessory prayer of that person. I suspect there are more miracles found in the Catholic Church than anywhere else on earth. The miracles are not limited to intercessory prayers of the Saints, but occur through intercessory prayers of people just like you and me as well. I know of several people who have been healed through the help of intercessory prayer.

No, you won’t find the word priesthood anywhere in TBOM after Jesus.

“Ordain” means to “appoint.” Read it like that, it will make for sense.

We are not in the OT, they have no meaning today.
Oh I see. We just ignore what we don’t like, or change the words. Well I think it will be a while before I convert but thanks for the opportunity.

“Read it like that, it will make sense?” I can’t believe you actually have the nerve to say that!

So just delete the word “priesthood” too I guess, and so then it makes sense. Your position has no merit whatsoever and is totally ridicuous! Time to get out the tinfoil hat again I guess.

I know many here may not be familiar with the Book of Mormon, so just for those who are not, I will post this to show the total absurdity of BOMC’s position.

All of these quotes are from times after the appearance of Jesus in this hemisphere
Moro. 3: 1, 3-4
1 The manner which the disciples, who were called the elders of the church, ordained priests and teachers—
• • •
3 In the name of Jesus Christ I ordain you to be a priest, (or, if he be a teacher) I ordain you to be a teacher, to preach repentance and remission of sins through Jesus Christ, by the endurance of faith on his name to the end. Amen.
4 And after this manner did they ordain priests and teachers, according to the gifts and callings of God unto men; and they ordained them by the power of the Holy Ghost, which was in them.
Moro. 4: 1
1 The manner of their elders and priests administering the flesh and blood of Christ unto the church; and they administered it according to the commandments of Christ; wherefore we know the manner to be true; and the elder or priest did minister it—
4 Ne. 1: 34
34 Nevertheless, the people did harden their hearts, for they were led by many priests and false prophets to build up many churches, and to do all manner of iniquity. And they did smite upon the people of Jesus; but the people of Jesus did not smite again. And thus they did dwindle in unbelief and wickedness, from year to year, even until two hundred and thirty years had passed away.
.
Moro. 6: 1
1 And now I speak concerning baptism. Behold, elders, priests, and teachers were baptized; and they were not baptized save they brought forth fruit meet that they were worthy of it.
I am now convinced that BOMC is trying to pull some kind of hoax or sick joke to make money with his website. That is my opinion. From a BOM perspective, his position has no merit whatsoever. You can see for yourselves

Here is a link to the Book of Mormon if you want

Oh I see. We just ignore what we don’t like, or change the words. Well I think it will be a while before I convert but thanks for the opportunity.
Look at the Greek - “appoint.” And convert to what??? The Book of Mormon? It teaches Christ, do you have a problem with Jesus?
So just delete the word “priesthood” too I guess, and so then it makes sense. Your position has no merit whatsoever and is totally ridicuous! Time to get out the tinfoil hat again I guess.
Sorry, there is no word “priesthood” to remove after Jesus’ appearance. Are you still in bed?

Excuse me, where is the reference to a “high priest” after Jesus? There are none. That is hole NUMBER 1.
From a BOM perspective, his position has no merit whatsoever. You can see for yourselves
NUMBER TWO: I will replace the word “ordain” with the Greek “appoint” so the difference is clear:
Moro. 3: 1, 3-4
1 The manner which the disciples, who were called the elders of the church, appointed priests and teachers—
• • •
3 In the name of Jesus Christ I appoint you to be a priest, (or, if he be a teacher) I appoint you to be a teacher, to preach repentance and remission of sins through Jesus Christ, by the endurance of faith on his name to the end. Amen.
4 And after this manner did they appoint priests and teachers, according to the gifts and callings of God unto men; and they appoint them by the power of the Holy Ghost, which was in them.
Clear as the sun.

NUMBER TWO: I will replace the word “ordain” with the Greek “appoint” so the difference is clear:
Didn’t you say that you use the original translation? But here you are, making changes. :juggle:

That’s not what it says. TBOM has some of the most powerful preaching, the richest revelations, how can you not be amazed? Oh, I forgot, you have blinders on. Please take them off!
Amazed at what? A fictional account that is poorly written and edited?
If you will base your discernment on Twain, you will at least enjoy his company in the next life. I hope he is worth it. Why not ask JESUS!
Listen up bomc, I never said I followed Mark Twain as a religious leader. This is your mormon spin, something you apparently learned well and retained.

Look at the Greek - “appoint.” And convert to what??? The Book of Mormon? It teaches Christ, do you have a problem with Jesus?

Sorry, there is no word “priesthood” to remove after Jesus’ appearance. Are you still in bed?
The Book of Mormon was not written in Greek!!!

What kind of BOM scholar are you? This gets more absurd by the second. Remember Joseph Smith and the gold plates? I bet any Catholic could tell you that story!

Excuse me, where is the reference to a “high priest” after Jesus? There are none. That is hole NUMBER 1.

Why would you use a Greek word?

And this still means there were priests after Jesus visited the Americas! Change the word all you want, there was still a priesthood. If there were priests, there was a priesthood!

Look at the Greek - “appoint.” And convert to what??? The Book of Mormon? It teaches Christ, do you have a problem with Jesus?
I have had a testimony of the Book of Mormon for 30 years. And I have actually read it, which you apparantly have not.

Yes, this is true. Why did you leave Catholicism?

(hehehe)
Dang. I can’t get over you saying that one of my posts is true. Get out the picture frame… I gotta print that one. Full color.
