Boy Scouts - Gay acceptance

We keep forgetting that same-sex physical activity is a mortal sin while same sex attraction is only a temptation and conflating the two.

I was a scout and at the time any kind of sexuality was the furthest thing from my mind as I assume it is for all young boys.

I think the idea of small children being sexualized is something not real, but may be forced on them by dirty minded adults.

There is clearly a very aggressive homosexualist agenda that force the Boy Scouts to capitulate to their demands. Oh and they will not be happy until an open homosexual is leading a troop. Maybe Jerry Sandusky will be available? He has plenty of experience “mentoring” young boys.

The whole thing is utterly so ridiculous Last year when this was just a far off nightmare, I heard an interview with the then head of BSA. He said that the vast majority of boys in scouting are not even through puberty, much less OPENLY discussing their sexuality! How many Boy Scout troops or leaders discussed sex? The whole concept is so utterly beyond comprehension. I am really tired of this tiny minority bullying their way into all facets of our life.

Look it is no secret that there have always been gay scouts and probably a few gay scountmasters. My own cousin went all the way to Eagle. He was not “out” although I am sure he probably understood that he had same sex attraction before completion of his scouting experience. Don’t ask, don’t tell is perfectly fine. They should have left the policy as is.

This is the way I see it: There is a bathroom for men and a bathroom for women. By God’s design, they are opposite sex. Women should not go into the men’s bathroom and vice versa. If I am a male homosexual, Am I not the functional equivalent of a woman? If I take on the characteristics and interests of the opposite sex that go beyond attraction, am I not functioning in the same manner as a woman going into the men’s bathroom?

Go a step further, in a gym setting where there are showers.

As such, if there is an organization for Boys, why would Girls be allowed?

There is a line that is crossed when I perform and behave as the opposite sex. What happens then?

Well duh! why else would a pedophile want to be around but young boys? But once again not all people with SSA are pedophiles. Not all people with SSA are sexually active.

And that is what I am trying to get across and people are ignoring. It seems that some here are disagreeing with the catechism of the Catholic Church that says baldly that we are to treat people with SSA with respect.

Maybe they know better or more that the authors of the catechism?

There is so much derision and yes hatred for all with SSA that I am not surprised that when a chaste member with SSA posts they are greeted with so much derision even though they are chaste and faithful Catholics they leave quickly.

There were formerly chaste members with SSA here, but I have not seen one for quite some time. I wonder why?

I’m not quite sure what any of this has to do with NFP, which I have accepted and now actually agree with in many ways.

But regarding the English bobby and the Naval uniform…shouldn’t these uniforms be updated a TAD? I understand the concept of uniforms. My brother is in the Army. But they should convey a purpose and fulfill that purpose. Of course, dress uniforms should be formal and show the decorations that each individual has received, but to dress a boy in “fancy” attire like kerchiefs and knee socks and sashes and send him into the woods to learn to start fires is a little bit ridiculous.

Take the Swiss Guard. The story is that the Pope told Michelangelo to design them, forced him to do so. So Michelangelo, with his wicked sense of humor, decided to make the most ridiculous outfit that he could design, as a protest. And they are STILL using this design. It was INTENDED to be a joke! How he must be laughing in Heaven to this day.

These positions are intended in some way to command respect and to convey authority. Why make them ridiculous? Why not make them more utilitarian?

Who wants to join the Boy Scouts if the uniforms are ridiculous? The uniforms alone drive people off.

Why don’t all armys just dress like the guys in 300? Because the way you dress matters.

Consider this.

Up until now there has been no problems related to clothing that would cause anyone to be considered about the sexual status of the BSA. Clothing is not and has not been the issue.

What is an issue is manifest by recent rulings of the BSA. If clothing were an issue and this was a problem percieved by anyone then someone other than you would have registered it and this is not true. What is true is that based on a recent change in policy by the BSA change is happening…
