Our Lady’s demands are only irrelevant to a Non-Catholics.
If a Pope knows with 100% certainty that our Lady revealed that the Pope has to consecrate Her Immaculate Heart to Russia in order to lesson the severity of the Great Chastisement, would God require the Pope to obey our Lady and consecrate Russia to her Immaculate Heart?
- Fatima is a **Private **revelation. Your bishop has far more authority for you than all the revelations at Fatima.
- Fatima was **approved **in 1930. Much discussion about Fatima concerns matters disclosed later, not approved or unapproved by the Church. That needs to be emphasized, since people use the term “approved” very loosely.
- Bishops, like all Catholics and even non Catholics, are encouraged to consider the revelations and private devotion to Our Lady of Fatima, but to use their personal discretion, as we all do. Bishops, and us, are required to accept matters defined in public revelation, which Fatima is not part of.
- The pope and bishops are the authorized interpreters of private revelations. Even Sr. Lucia was not, in her lifetime, an expert to interpret what response should be taken by persons other than herself.
Private revelations of which Fatima is one are not necessary to salvation. I suggest the book A Still, Small Voice by Fr. Benedict Groeschel. If a Pope knows with 100% certainty that our Lady revealed that the Pope has to consecrate Her Immaculate Heart to Russia in order to lesson the severity of the Great Chastisement, would God require the Pope to obey our Lady and consecrate Russia to her Immaculate Heart?
You didn’t answer the question. You’re ignoring the issue. Private revelations are NOT binding upon the Church. Where have you been reading about Fatima? Because a lot of sites and books about it are from a perspective very disobedient to the Church and spread conspiracy theories. You didn’t answer the question. Since this is a private revelation, there is no certainty communicated via the revelations at Fatima about anything. There is no certainty that Mary appeared or talked at Fatima at all.If a Pope knows with 100% certainty that our Lady revealed that the Pope has to consecrate Her Immaculate Heart to Russia in order to lesson the severity of the Great Chastisement, would God require the Pope to obey our Lady and consecrate Russia to her Immaculate Heart?

We only have certainty that Mary lived on earth 2000 years ago, and is the mother of Jesus, because of **public **revelation: Scriptures, Sacred Tradition, as taught by the Magisterium. The authoritative interpreter of public revelation, the Magisterium, is also the authoritative interpreter of private revelation, which is not authoritative but offered for our personal encouragement, as we may or may not choose.
Any one page in the Catechism is more authoritative, has more certainty, than all the private revelations, combined.
(I keep Fatima as part of my own spiritual life, go to a Fatima shrine often; but I understand it as a private revelation). My pastor has more authority than Fatima. So does yours.
My answer is no:If a Pope knows with 100% certainty that our Lady revealed that the Pope has to consecrate Her Immaculate Heart to Russia in order to lesson the severity of the Great Chastisement, would God require the Pope to obey our Lady and consecrate Russia to her Immaculate Heart?
Thank you for answering my question. My answer is no:
Interestingly in Fatima in 1983 Pope john Paul 2 said:
“The Church has always taught and continues to proclaim that God’s revelation was brought to completion in Jesus Christ, who is the fullness of that revelation and that ‘no new public revelation is to be expected before the glorious manifestation of our Lord’
In your example you are holding a pope accountable to a “new” revelation, no the pope is mandated to follow any new revelevation. Gods revelation was brought to completion in Jesus Christ
Your question is irrelevant. Marian cults have been suppressed by the Church time and time again. The Church knows what is essential to salvation. And like it or not, Fatima is not essential to salvation.Thank you for answering my question.
No you do not. No revelation, even Fatima overrides the authority that Jesus has bestowed upon his Vicar. This is not choosing the Pope over Mary, but supporting what St. John Paul said over what** you** say Mary wants, or your own person understanding of the Consecration that St. John Paul the Great made of Russia and the whole world.I have the infallible magisterium of the Catholic Church on my side.
The Great Chastisement will quickly change your thinking. No you do not. No revelation, even Fatima overrides the authority that Jesus has bestowed upon his Vicar. If he has not said it was invalid, he at least implies it was incomplete or not done properly. If this is the first time he is bringing it up, you have to wonder why he did not bring it up on the shift of the previous 2 popes. (An American lawyer and Canadian suspended priest of course did try to get the mostly atheist government of the European Union to put legal/political pressure on Pope Benedict to do obey them).Once again, you people are getting way of topic. This thread is about a consecration of Russia that a Cardinal of the Catholic Church is proposing in the here and now. He hasn’t said anything about the previous consecration being invalid .
A Pope not obeying out Lady’s command to consecrate Russia to Her Immaculate Heart, proves this Pope to be an enemy of Holy Mother Church. Pope JP2 refusing to consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary further divided and conquered the Church, and helped set us up for the Great Chastisement. Yes, PJ2 having refused to consecrate the Immaculate Heart of Mary to Russia, is very uncharitable. If he has not said it was invalid, he at least implies it was incomplete or not done properly. You might say this is not accusing Pope Francis of anything. But he had the choice of sending this request by private email, but chose to go public instead, which triggered demand petitions by LifeSite. If I publicly demand you do something in response to **reputed **command by Mary, and you fail to obey my demand, that is setting up for accusation of negligence. Of course, Cardinal Burke and LifeSite are also implicitly accusing of negligence Pope JP I, Pope Paul VI, Pope John XXIII, and Pope Pius XII.
At a time when the enemies of the Church are trying to divide and conquer, is this anything remotely prudent, let alone charitable?
Pope John Paul II is a saint! How can he be an enemy of Holy Mother Church?A Pope not obeying out Lady’s command to consecrate Russia to Her Immaculate Heart, proves this Pope to be an enemy of Holy Mother Church. Pope John Paul II did not believe all Infallible Dogmas, of Holy Mother Church, without innovations.Pope John Paul II is a saint! How can he be an enemy of Holy Mother Church?
