Jars of urine, feces confiscated at TX capitol as abortion bill voting takes place
DPS
Updated: 37 minutes ago
AUSTIN, TEXAS (DPS) - The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) today received information that individuals planned to use a variety of items or props to disrupt legislative proceedings at the Texas Capitol.
Therefore for safety purposes, DPS recommended to the State Preservation Board that all bags be inspected prior to allowing individuals to enter the Senate gallery, which the State Preservation Board authorized.
During these inspections, DPS officers have thus far discovered one jar suspected to contain urine, 18 jars suspected to contain feces, and three bottles suspected to contain paint. All of these items - as well as significant quantities of feminine hygiene products, glitter and confetti possessed by individuals - were required to be discarded; otherwise those individuals were denied entry into the gallery.
In the interest of the safety and security of Texas legislators and the general public, these inspections will continue until the conclusion of Senate business.

Don’t understand your point. I think once an unborn baby shows demonstrable human features, the pro abort’s case is tough to make to the general public that does not have the strange ideology of abortion at any time for no reason as their mantra. Norman human beings who hear about Plan B or an abortion in four weeks are not necessarily going to approve of a woman aborting at 20 weeks or 21 for that matter. You’re just hair splitting.

Ironically the main objection isn’t to the restrictions on date but on the standards for clinics. How anyone claiming to care about “women’s health” wants the most desperate and poor women to be stuck with substandard and unsanitary clinics along with poorly skilled providers is beyond my understanding. If they truly cared about “women’s health” they would want women in crisis to receive the best care, counselling and support, not an assembly line of filthy equipment and low level care.

The argument by the “Pro-Choice” side that they want safe conditions for the women getting an abortion was always a lie. Just as the term “Pro-Choice” itself is a lie. They obviously don’t support “choice” when they criticize the women who choose to keep their baby.

Right, just as they say they counsel women on their options such as keeping their baby or adoption. After all shouldn’t the woman have a choice? It’s amazing that they don’t realize how their lies trip them up.

I was just reading about how this would “close” all these clinics…the horror of that right? Instead they should be asking why the standards are so low that they would need to be upgraded substantially.

It’s going to mean less money kickbacks going to the Democrat party from those abortion clinics.

Texas Senate passes sweeping new abortion restrictions

Great news it passed but will this law still stand if it is challenged?

A lawsuit was enacted against the 20 week ban in Arizona. A federal judge upheld the law but then it was struck down by the appeals court.

Federal district court struck down Idaho’s 20 week ban

lifenews.com/2013/03/07/ruling-on-fetal-pain-abortion-ban-could-lead-to-supreme-court-battle
“We have always recognized that it will take a decision by the Supreme Court to allow expanded protection of unborn children capable of feeling pain, and there are strong indications that five of the sitting Justices would look with sympathy on a law providing such protection,” Balch said. “The next step will be an appeal to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, followed, after its decision, by a request to the U.S. Supreme Court to hear the case.”
Injunction on Georgia’s 20 week ban.

There is an injunction on 12 week Arkansas ban.

Nebraska has 20 week ban enacted.

Kansas has 22 week ban enacted - ‘post fertilization’ 20 weeks.

Oklahoma has 20 week ban enacted.

Louisiana has 20 week ban enacted.

Indiana has 20 week ban enacted.

Alabama has 20 week ban enacted.

North Carolina has 20 week ban enacted.

Some states with 20 week bans have exceptions for abortion after 20 weeks.

Does anybody know why 20 week bans have been challenged by lawsuit in some states and not in others?

I THINK its relates by the Federal Circuit the States are located in.

Challenge the right ban of one State in a Federal District, and the State appeals to the Circuit Court which covers more than one State in the region.

Challenge the right combination of States, and you can knock off most of those State bans with just a few lawsuits.

This was poor timing by Texas since it will be challenged. Circuit Courts looks to what other Circuits do, and the 5th Circuit is likely to rule in line with the 9th and 11th Circuits on this law.

:extrahappy: :extrahappy: :extrahappy: THE BILL HAS PASSED! Despite huge amounts of controversy and gross misconduct and attempts to disrupt the democratic process, (including people throwing tampons, shouting down pro-lifers, attempts to throw glitter and at least one jar of urine, and it was bad enough that pro-lifers were being told to hide in congressmen’s offices) The bill was still able to pass! Praise the lord! For only he could lead people to have the courage to keep going despite all this

Wonderful news! I think that the pro-aborts’ egregious behavior did their cause no good. For anyone to claim that improving standards in clinics and not allowing abortions at the point a baby has all of her organs, fingers and toes, the ability to feel pain is a “war on women” seems particularly specious.

Thank you Texas for ACTUALLY standing up for women (even very tiny women!)

Texas, Wisconsin have defunded Planned Parenthood, quite pro-life, Romney-Ryan would have defunded it nationally. Disgraceful the acts of Planned Parenthood and others attacking pro-life efforts.

At first I thought this was about Indiana. Then I read the title correctly and saw that it is about Indiana. I am very thankful that the Senate was able to pass this bill. Hopefully it will be a law soon. I would love to see the scourge of abortion completely eliminated from our society.
