Don’t know, don’t care, can’t believe this actually qualifies as news.

Personally this liberal is glad Bristol won and always thought she was a cutie.

I guess it’s impossible that anyone should just think she’s not that good a dancer. It MUST be for hateful ideological reasons!
sheesh
Uh yeah sure.

Ever watch the show? Hundreds of really bad dancers have gone through…I dont remember any outrage over them.

Bristol is not a bad dancer… you must not have watched this season.

I appreciate your honesty and the ability to look at something that has nothing to do with politics without a political lens on.

My thoughts about starting this thread were more about the behavior of the liberals, and those on this board who somehow consider themselves centrist, toward someone whose the daughter of a former political figure they knew nothing about until she accepted a request to run as a VP candidate. From that day forward, a hatred unlike any I’d ever seen was born.

I have a backbone and I’ll take the punches when they are dealt until I feel I’m cornered and have to fight back. But if someone messed with my kids the way they have Palins, there’s a good chance I’d be in jail.

I just don’t understand how liberals seem to throw up whenever they hear the name Palin, regardless of what their first name is.

Everyone knows DWTS is 50% talent, 50% popularity…The Judges on the show are professional dancers/ball room dancing judges. THEY are supposed to judge on the talent and quality of the dance, ignoring if they like or dislike a dancer (and they do a good job of it usually!)

When I vote for Bristol on Monday it will be because she is my favorite of the three left. In addition to liking her the best it will also be fun to watch people RAGE about her winning (hopefully) due to something other than her dancing prowess.

Also DWTS has always been this way and people with little talent have often gone far due to the love of their fans.

No, I don’t waste my time watching this thing. My point is, just because someone disagrees with an opinion over someone’s DANCING ability, for crying out loud, doesn’t make it political! Get a grip, folks.

Who is making it political? Someone posted a rather negative post about a young women that was uncalled for, others addressed that as unnecessary. She was I believe called a Loose Cannon which had absolutely not a thing to do with her dancing ability. Telling people to get a grip is also uncalled for.

You must have missed this post:

"Re: Bristol Palin’s ‘DWTS’ Success: Right-Wing Conspiracy or Improved Dancer Who Deserves to Win?
Plenty of reasons for liberals to hate her:
  1. She supports abstinence, a banned word on the left.
  2. She has not aborted her child, an unthinkable course of action for a young person to take.
  3. The left prefers Levi Johnston because, of course, he insulted Sarah Palin and her family on live air, and that instantly gets you into the lefty club.
  4. They hate her mother. Like mother, like daughter. Hate mother, hate daughter.
    The list goes on."
THAT’S who’s making this political. I still say it is possible to disagree about someone’s dancing talent without it being for political reasons.

I have the opposite conspiracy. When I heard that Bristol Palin was going to be on DWTS, I thought that this would hurt Sarah Palin’s chances for running in 2012. Bristol is heavy “baggage” for Sarah whether we like it or not. As long as Bristol is on the show, the more it would hurt Sarah, and if Bristol wins it will focus negative attention on Sarah.
Altho a staunch conservative, I am not a Sarah Palin fan, (PLEASE, DEAR LORD, do not let her run in 2012) but you gotta admit one thing about her. If what you say is true, she’s still right there in the front row rootin’ for her daughter every week and I have to admire that.

I think it would be a huge shame if Bristol wins because if she does the world will know it wasn’t on her own popularity or merits, but wholly on her mother’s. If I were Bristol, I’d be downright embarrassed! 😊

I wasn’t politicizing it and sorry if it looked that way, I was answering bbarrick’s questions, namely the parts in bold:
I understand it’s dancing with the stars, not learn how to dance with the stars. But they do pit people who have a career or some sort of background in dancing against people with two left feet every season. I barely watch the show, but I do not understand the disgust liberals have for this young girl. Of course Brandy was the better dancer, I could have told you that before the show ever started. But I think people can relate to Bristol more than they ever would Brandy.

Oh well, barely interesting enough to not be considered a waste of time imo. Too bad they are whining about a show that has nothing to do with politicis because they do not like the politics of one of the contestants mother.
That is the original post of this very topic, and I was the first respondent, so I was responding to his original post. Hope that clears things up.😉

White powder was sent to the studio last night.
Yes… the left is so enraged over a 20 year old on DWTS… they are sending white powder to scare her into not dancing.
Cant get any more crazy than that.

also yesterday,

Rev Al Sharpton is commenting on it now too… I am sure he will call it racism.

She isn’t doing anything that the rules of the show don’t allow. So, the ideologues on both sides of her mother’s views should just be quiet, relax, and watch (if so inclined).

It’s ENTERTAINMENT, for cryin’ out loud!

Her mother may have got her on the show, but she has kept herself there. You are 100 percent wrong.

Why? Is he upset because it wasn’t black powder?

Funny.

But for others reading this thread, Sharpton is probably sticking his nose in it becuase the girl that got voted off this past week was black and considered one of the best dancers on the show. (Her atitude was what bothered me personally.)

I don’t watch the show (my parents are in love with it though) and I was actually appalled that they let Bristol on. I know she’s a celebrity and all, but I’d rather see actual stars than the daughter of someone who is famous. But I decided to be fair and thought she might be the best on earth. But as my parents have told me, she’s terrible.

I see the appeal though. I was rooting for Kurt Warner because I’m a fan

Once again… the left is unhinged and ridiculous over a tv show. I understand Joy Behar is so enraged over this nonsense that she might need a straight jacket.
I don’t believe that it has anything to do with “the left.” I think it’s about diehard fans of the show who simply think that the best contestant should win and not just the most popular. A lot of people were equally irritated over the conspiracy to keep Sangia on American Idol and the fact that a dime-a-dozen guy with a guitar and a sob story won America’s Got Talent instead of the most talented contestant, Prince Poppycock.

Amen. And that goes double for her mother.
I’m already suffering from Palin fatigue and I voted for her.
Serves your right! Silly boy! Such dreadful insignificant rot the lot of it! :pCarlan

The authorities have already confirmed who sent it? Do you have a link to the announcement please?
