Our Catholic faith is more than words. When we profess to being Catholic, we must submit ourselves – body and soul to Jesus Christ and understand that Pope John Paul II is the Vicar of Christ.
They are hedging their bets between God and Baal.as long as it does not effect
I Ditto St. Louis. By the grace of God, I said, “What the heck…” and attended a retreat at my church, really just to get away from my problems for a weekend. That was a couple of years ago, and it really turned me around - now I’m trying to really be Catholic, trying to learn this Faith.Fortunately now I am trying to adhere to all tenents of the faith. Unfortunately it took me about 35 years to wake and understand that there is more to life than making money and acquiring STUFF. I had every opportunity growing up to know my faith but for whatever reason it never took hold…
I couldn’t agree more.Your committment to be one with the One True Church will only bolster yourself and your comrades and give you the required strength to do the right thing, to fight that dragon and to pass from this world to the kingdom that is to surely come…
You might not know it all… allow the collective wisdom of 2000 years to trump any desire to go your way and not the way of the Church Of Christ…which is greek/hebrew for the One, True, Holy, Roman Catholic Church…
I think this would describe me, as well. I try, but the flesh is weak - Thank God for confession.I don’t follow all the teachings in the sense that I am still a sinner and imperfectly trying.
However, I do not knowingly reject any teaching of the Church, and consider myself to be in submission and obediance to my Bishop and our Holy Father.
Raphaela,what’s a cafeteria catholic???
Well, this is a good suggestion. Though… I think that “cafeteria” Catholics would more accurately choose more than “one of the above” on that menu.I think the wording of the Cafeteria Catholic selection is one that few Cafeteria Catholics would pick. Also, I think if you were to redo this without reference to apostolic succession you might get better results.

I disagree with the Magesterium of the Catholic Church on …
I have a feeling that 88% might be split a little more between 1 and 2. Any suggestions on making this poll better? I think we can get a better picture of the 88% by clarifying a few things …
- Nothing
- Matters of practice (married priests)
- Matters of authoritative teaching (birth control)
- Matters of dogma (Church isn’t visible, communion of saints, Marian dogmas, in a nutshell … Protestantism)
- Everything pertaining to faith (not Christian)
