Can a Catholic be Democrat?

Many Catholics despise democrats, i only know a few in my parish who view otherwise
I’m pretty sure in several of the parishes I attend, Dems are way in the majority.

I’m a Democrat. That doesn’t mean I vote for every Democrat I see though. My votes are my business.

I also don’t give a hoot if some other Catholic “despises” me, cuz he’s the one who’s sinning by not loving his neighbor, me.

Death Penalty? War mongers, and not to mention yes democrats support it, but the facts prove with the help of the ACA that abortion rates fall during a Democrat’s presidency, and are stagnant during republicans, statistics show a catholic view going in the other way? Can’t argue with facts

Economically, I am pro-union and for taxing the wealthier
I have lived through enough elections cycles to know that “taxing the wealthy” always means taxing the working middle class. Always.
Also, keep in mind that the Democratic party represents the interests of the “wealthy” much more that the working class.

I said you can dislike Republican policies. And abortion rates can also drop because of contraception, another thing which is in violation to Catholic moral teaching and something the Democrats support under the banner of “women’s health”.

Abortion is murder. And the Democratic party openly supports it.

But lying about new industry and manufacturing jobs just to get the union vote doesn’t help much either

But if voting their way factually decreases abortion Rates during multiple presidencies, then isn’t it pretty obvious that the democrats way and the ACA is having a successful impact on the abortion rate ?

I have no problem with you hating Trump. About half of the country does. My real question is about real actual policies of the Democrats that you like. So far, I see unions and taxes. Is that it?

Fighting against evil by using another evil isn’t combating evil at all. Again, please read about the American Solidarity Party. You’ll probably like what they have to say.

No, environmental protection, equality on multiple levels (no I’m not an LGBT supporter), social safety nets, progressive tax system, infrastructure development, raising schooling standards etc.

I have, a long time ago, (and btw wasn’t trying to sound snarky to you if I did) but there aren’t and probably won’t be any in any upcoming presidential elections

All good talking points. How many were implemented during the 8 years of the democratic presidency?

Not surprising, given the grip a de facto two-party system has had on our country for centuries.

Ohh, well I’m 17 and didn’t follow politics back then. But I do know there were several environmental and school revisions made,

I agree with all you say.

I, too, am a registered Democrat. If I were not, I would have no say at all in my local government. My city council seat has been held, uncontested, by Democrats for 30 years. By voting in the primary, I get to vote for the least objectionable candidate.
