It will never change if we don’t at least try to make moves towards it.

I, too, am a registered Democrat. If I were not, I would have no say at all in my local government. My city council seat has been held, uncontested, by Democrats for 30 years. By voting in the primary, I get to vote for the least objectionable candidate.

Chicago Is The Most Corrupt American City: Report. And the most Democratic.

can I vote for a democrat given the abortion stance?
My parents generation was raised to be discrete in matters of politics and religion. They could never have seen CAF coming.

I’m getting older and grumpier and wondering why personal politics - and the subsequent voter-shaming - have become so public. (Yea, I’m guilty).

Talk to your priest. Pray. Then go vote.

Peace policies with Middle East? Mandatory Reporting of Greenhouse Gases Rule, Clean Power Plan, power plant pollution limits, oil and gas air limits, EPA regulations, Clean energy technology, fish rebound, sustainable agriculture (which trump rolled back) etc etc etc

Peace policies with Middle East?
There is a subtle but important difference between talking points and policies.
Example:
" U.S. military forces have been at war for all eight years of Obama’s tenure, the first two-term president with that distinction. He launched airstrikes or military raids in at least seven countries: Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Yemen, Somalia and Pakistan.

Yet the U.S. faces more threats in more places than at any time since the Cold War, according to U.S. intelligence."

But, he got the Nobel Peace Prize. So, all is good.

My state does not have party registration. I typically vote in Democratic primaries either to try and nominate the least objectionable Democratic candidate, or to nominate the weakest possible candidate (versus a Republican) who has a realistic chance of winning their party’s nomination. My “search and destroy” strategy is solely because of abortion. This trumps (no pun intended) any other issue. If all candidates were equally pro-life in all elections, I would actually favor most Democratic policies over Republican ones. I favor the worker and the underdog, and I always will. But I favor the unborn more.

The American Solidarity Party is very attractive and I like what they stand for, but to bleed off all people to whom their policies are agreeable, would ensure pro-choice victories. In 99% of all cases, as a practical matter, we end up having to vote for the Republican, again, solely because of the abortion issue. Unfortunate but true.

Well said, and that’s what I figured it would come down to, I agree with every democratic issue but that. Oh well, maybe Jesus will return and run for president, then I can vote comfortably lol

I’m allowed to vote next election, and I am more a democrat than a republican, can I vote for a democrat given the abortion stance? And might I add abortion rates have dropped when there is a Democrat president, and I have proof thanks
Simple answer, yes. Don’t be dubbed by using abortion and gay marriage as a criteria to vote. Republicans get abortions also, they just hide it more. They hide behind the disguise as holier than thou.

Vote for whats going to affect you and your family. Vote for someone who will not be sold out by the military industrial complex, pharma, banks, etc… and will fight for your current living conditions. Very few if any fit this bill in any party.

There is only one person I trust who will fight for my family, my health, our planet, end wars, and is NOT sold out who I will vote for.

Well my bad I’ve not been inclined in politics for long. But I am aware of the environmental and agricultural impacts he made

My only point is that to be a responsible voter, one needs to take a peak under the hood. I don’t listen to what the politicians say.

I’m in a time where it’s hard, I hate being young and being swayed every way by all different views and people

And I live no where near there.

It’s not so hot in Western NY either.
My own governor told me and anyone else who is Conservative, pro 2nd Ammendment and pro-life that they don’t belong in his State.
