I don’t think it only refers to the form. I think those who define themselves as traditional do tend to prefer the EF along with pre-Vatican practices like the 3 hour fast, the Divine Office, as opposed to the Liturgy of the Hours, communion on the tongue while kneeling, veiling, etc..
I just don’t enjoy the idea of defining one’s faith by the form of Mass being attended as long as it is licit.
I know this does not apply to everyone, but in my limited experience all those things tend to go hand in hand.
