Can catholics be masons?

Masonry dates back to post-Reformation England and is the creation of bored Englishman who took over an actual association of masons who engaged in masonry for a living.

Plus, is there one Church father or Jewish scholar that you can point to HIram Abiff actually founding some sort of secret society?

Isn’t it true that you pray to G.A.T.O.U, the Great Architect of the Universe, NOT Christ.

Again. Please do your research, I got the actual title of the book this time: “Christianity and American Freemasonry” by William Whalen.

One cannot be Catholic and Mason, they are two different religions. Just like one cannot be Lutheran and Catholic, one cannot be Anglican and Catholic, one cannot be Muslim and Catholic, etc.

In short…“yes”. Should Catholics be Freemasons? “Definitely not.”

Freemasonry is a religion unto itself whereby they teach that all enlightenment – all accomplishments – everything that is good in the world came about through man. They give not credit to God. They are totally centered on ‘man’ as the be-all and end-all of goodness in the world.

Of course…this is stupid. Duh! 😊
 
I see no reason why a person of the catholic faith would want to join an organization that is so dominated by Protestants! They (Protestants) have very little to offer orthodox Christians.We already have the fullness of faith.
 
No. Freemasonry is satanic. The initiation RITUAL for freemasonry is nearly identical to that of hardcore witchcraft. The masons are antichrists.

I suspect that if you are a Mason your degree is likely well below 20 or 30. Quite literally any Mason under the 30th degree has no idea what Evils the Masons are really responsible for because it is effectually kept hidden from your eyes by deception though you are completely unaware it. Also the fact that you in fact are serving two Masters. Any catholic person who is a practicing Mason by their own decree automatically excommunicates themselves from the Roman Catholic Church. And that is a decree set by the Magisterium of the Church

I just don’t get it.
The Church that Jesus Christ himself founded tells you specifically NOT to do something and you run off and pretend like there’s nothing wrong with it.

The record I have provided is extracted from the Writings of St. Maximilian Maria Kolbe, on which I have written my thesis many years ago. The record is true. Of course there are also more recent specific condemnations of Freemasonry. But the examples above are enough to show that Catholics, to remain in good standing with the Church, should stay away from Freemasonry.

Before I became Catholic, I was a Mason. I no longer am and I do respect the Church’s rule not to belong to the organzation. However, to make a statement as this writer has is not only close to flame, which should never be part of a conversation here, but truly is one of ignorance. While there is indeed historical evidence that Masonic groups (18th & 19th centuries) were anti-Catholic, none of my experience in 20 years as a Mason gave any indication that they now “an evil group pretending to be nice guys.” The writer really, truly should be ashamed. It is comparable to what some Protestants say about Catholics. Shame!

Shame on Freemasonry. It is evil and anti-Christian, in particular anti-Catholic. That does not mean each member is evil as they are basically ignorant about the real aims of Freemasonry.

He admits that masons at lower levels do not realise what the Masons are really about because its hidden from them until they reach the highest levels.

You know, individuals in any group can be nice people. Heck, I’m sure that the Branch Davidians had bake sales, worked in homeless shelters, were kind to old ladies and helped them across the street, etc. on any given day.

The fallacy is to assume that if ‘right now’ individuals who identify themselves as belonging to any group do ‘nice things’, it means the GROUP itself is nice and good.

But that of course is not necessarily the case.

Let’s suppose that there is a group, we’ll call it the “greenies”. Greenies offer ‘open membership’ to people, march in parades, offer programs to help children and the elderly, and tout ‘diversity’, friendship, all the happy buzz words of the moment. They look like wonderful people. Most of them who join pretty much ‘do’ only these sorts of things. But a small and vital minority of them are aware that the overall AIM of the Greenies is to ‘blindside’ the world by presenting themselves as innocuous do-gooders while these few ‘elite’ systematically are working to destroy the world and to set themselves up as rulers —and not just as ‘secular’ rulers, but as rulers dedicated to the worship of Satan.

So. . .you tell us. The innocent ‘dupes’ who are joining the Greenies to ‘do good’ are thereby aiding the evil Greenies who want to destroy the world. The more people who support the ‘dupes’, the more who are duped, the easier it is for the evil elite to get themselves into power and ultimately destroy the world. . .

Remember, one can quite easily ‘do good’ without joining ‘Greenies’ too. It’s not as though the "Greenies’ are the only people doing good, and if the “greenies” disbanded all the poor being ‘helped’ would be out in the cold.

Their aim is the downfall of the Catholic Church, in fact Christianity as a whole and replace it with their own religion.

They are unchanged in the past 300 years.
