Can men dress immodestly?

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody is around, does it make a sound?

If a woman wears tight jeans but nobody around her notices, is it immodest?

my original point was that men dress immodestly way less than women do because men’s fashion tends to be more modest.

Again, come to Australia. That is not the case here. Unless it’s mid winter and men are freezing their *** off.

🙀🐨

I would disagree.

Ripped up jeans, low cut shirts, poorly and tightly tailored suits are pretty normal for guys these days, and I don’t think they’re very modest in the least.

Yes, we should not be exposed to male chest hair. Science has determined it releases certain hormones in our puny female brains

maybe standards of australia are different, but here in Florida it’s the same weather and I don’t see what you’re referring to and I live 5 minutes from the beach

I think he’s all right. His shoe choice is questionable and seriously out of regs (should be patent leather oxfords - we call them Coraframs), but he’s doing okay.

You are referring to Florida USA. Isn’t it a retirement state? I am referring to the entirety of this great southern land. Turn on the Commonwealth Games ( happening now) and check out the fashion.

ripped up jeans and suits that aren’t tailored aren’t immodest. maybe not sensible but if we’re going around calling a man dressed in a poorly tailored suit immodest then I think we need to discuss the definition of immodesty. just because a man dresses slovenly doesn’t mean he’s immodest. maybe he’s just poor

or clueless about how to dress himself. maybe he’s been single for too long. i’m guilty of dressing slovenly. been a bachelor for too long

i’m 27 and there are a lot of people my age here, especially on the beach or downtown. I see men my age often and we don’t dress that bad

The purpose of this suit - and it’s poorly tailored, far too small - is to show off the outline of this guy. If a woman did that, it’d be scandalous. Tailoring doesn’t just mean “you took it to the tailor”. It also means “cut of the suit” in general. And yes you can buy them off the rack like this.

I agree with you, in general men’s fashion is more modest than women’s. I don’t see a lot of immodestly dressed men.

or maybe that’s all he can afford or he grew taller and his suit doesn’t fit him the way it used to. most men, including myself, aren’t as fashion savvy as women are and we don’t consider how we look in clothes. most of us wear whatever is comfortable.

personally, i see nothing wrong with a suit like that except that it’s probably not comfortable. BUT at least he’s covered.

Which is more modest

Or

I don’t consider this modest, nor is it a mark of being poor.

I need to Thank everyone on this thread for blessing my Saturday morning with wholesome guffaws. Had to put the coffee down because snorting it up my nose was painful.

I second the anti budgie smuggler and buttcracks as indecent more than immodest.

Lowslung pants, shorts and so on are immodest when they look like they’re sliding off invitingly because the wearer has a very (polite cough) toned and sleek body, not when they sag due to a beer gut.

Put that on a woman.

The purpose of that suit is to show the guy’s outline.

those are designer jeans, but i know some guys that work in construction for a living and their jeans are ripped naturally. that’s their work clothes and i don’t consider that to be immodest.

@SnowRose, I’m out of likes, but I’m glad you’ve enjoyed our shenanigans.
