What do you think praising God is but praying.jmcrae:![]()
Worshipping and praising God and anything else He wants us to do.What do you imagine we will be doing when we get to Heaven, if not praying?![]()
My child and I are making rosaries right now. I registered with the Rosary Army. They make rosaries and distribute them. But they also need our help. So when someone requests a rosary, they also get some twine and instructions to make one. They do this in the hopes of recruiting one more Rosary Army Soldier!Worshipping and praising God and anything else He wants us to do.![]()

I hope Iâm eating lots of pizza up thereWhat do you imagine we will be doing when we get to Heaven, if not praying?![]()

Then we KNOW without a doubt that the saints in heaven are praying for us since scripture is quite clear that the body of Christ should pray for one another.Worshipping and praising God and anything else He wants us to do.![]()
We do have different bodies. In heaven we have glorified bodies. On earth we have carnal bodies, for we know human flesh cannot enter into the kingdom of heavenâŚ(1Corinth 15;44)⌠Somehow when someone dies, Christ suddenly springs a new body. A body for those living in heaven and a body for those living on earth.
Tell me about it! You know who opened up my eyes and mind to the understanding of the afterlife for the believer before I became Catholic? It was C.S. Lewis. He had such a beautiful grasp on Christâs Body and our being a very real part of it, not just a fantasy or some etherial talk that didnât mean anything, but a reality more real than anything we know. And I had never been exposed to anything so deep and yet so simple in my whole Christian life. Then we KNOW without a doubt that the saints in heaven are praying for us since scripture is quite clear that the body of Christ should pray for one another.
Clearly since Our God is The God of the living, and nothing can separate us from Christ, even death, the living saints in heaven will be praying for us and worshipping God just as we do on earth only more perfectly.
I was thinking about this today. I do not understand why Baptists especially do not have a good understanding about the body of Christ. They firmly believe in once saved always saved. Always part of the Body of Christ. Yet so firmly cut off the arms and legs from the hands and feet. Somehow when someone dies, Christ suddenly springs a new body. A body for those living in heaven and a body for those living on earth.
Gareth-Iâm an Anglican and have been praying the rosary longer than Iâve been going to church. Itâs the thing thatâs missing from protestant christianity⌠a safe pathway to contemplation of God.
As the flip side to this. I talk to Catholics, whoâve Never prayed the rosary while meditating on the mysteries, sure theyâve prayed the words, but they never meditated on the mysteries. The mysteries are what make the whole thing work.
By praying the rosary Iâve gained freedom from persistent vices which no one has ever told me another way to quit. Iâm talking swearing, anger, abusive language.
Sometime I pray the rosay with just paternosters I do this to escape from an addiction process which torments me relentlessly.
The proof is in the pudding and the rosary works. I know my sins are forgiven by the grace of God, but Iâm still going to try not to sin.
I think you are missing Mariaâs point. Sheâs talking about Christâs Body, not our individual bodies. We are members of One Body, as St. Paul said. One Body. Not one on earth and one in heaven, but One Body, period. We never cease being members of that Body, even when we pass on. We remain in that One Body.We do have different bodies. In heaven we have glorified bodies. On earth we have carnal bodies, for we know human flesh cannot enter into the kingdom of heavenâŚ(1Corinth 15;44)
Oh wow, I love it!! :clapping: I love to hear that other Christians pray the Rosary too. :yup:Iâm an Anglican and have been praying the rosary longer than Iâve been going to church. Itâs the thing thatâs missing from protestant christianity⌠a safe pathway to contemplation of God.
Yes they are what makes the whole thing work. :yup: And I can relate as to only praying the words. As the flip side to this. I talk to Catholics, whoâve Never prayed the rosary while meditating on the mysteries, sure theyâve prayed the words, but they never meditated on the mysteries. The mysteries are what make the whole thing work.
YesBy praying the rosary Iâve gained freedom from persistent vices which no one has ever told me another way to quit. Iâm talking swearing, anger, abusive language.
Yes it sure does work. And God pours graces on you accordingly. Yes we should strive to live a sin free life but we know that we are weak and we constantly sin. As a Catholic I know that my venial sins are still kicking at times. The proof is in the pudding and the rosary works. I know my sins are forgiven by the grace of God, but Iâm still going to try not to sin.
What do you think the psalms are if not prayers?Thatâs not a prayer. Itâs called a psalm. Also known as a song or hymn. Where did you ever get the idea that was a prayer?
YES.Just curious, do you believe Jesus died for ALL of our sins?
Yes Baptism washes away Original Sin for infant baptizm. And if a convert comes in to the Catholic Church that has not been baptized, they can be baptized into the Catholic Church and with the Sacrament of Baptizm Original Sin is forgiven AND all their OWN sins are ALSO forgiven.Or do you believe that water baptism washes away original sin?
We do have different bodies. In heaven we have glorified bodies. On earth we have carnal bodies, for we know human flesh cannot enter into the kingdom of heavenâŚ(1Corinth 15;44)
That is it exactly. While we certainly will have our glorified bodies after death (through Christ and His cleansing blood applied after death through a state or place known as purgatoryI think you are missing Mariaâs point. Sheâs talking about Christâs Body, not our individual bodies. We are members of One Body, as St. Paul said. One Body. Not one on earth and one in heaven, but One Body, period. We never cease being members of that Body, even when we pass on. We remain in that One Body.
Hmmm thatâs strange, your authority is a book?âŚIâll do what the Bible says. I am always open to reproof. The Bible says not to repeat and I obey it. Because if I hate reproof, the Bible says I shall die.

Of course it can - Jesus arose bodily into Heaven. If He had acquired a different body, then His old one would have remained in the tomb.We do have different bodies. In heaven we have glorified bodies. On earth we have carnal bodies, for we know human flesh cannot enter into the kingdom of heavenâŚ(1Corinth 15;44)
Jesus body was incoruptable. Our bodies decay but our spiritual bodies rise up. Flesh and blood cannot enter into the kingdom of heaven.(1 Corinth 15;50)Of course it can - Jesus arose bodily into Heaven. If He had acquired a different body, then His old one would have remained in the tomb.
The whole point of the empty tomb is to teach us that the whole person goes to Heaven - not only the spirit and/or soul.
St. Paul is telling us that our bodies will become glorified - not that we wonât have them.
