Bingo. Obama would win by a landslide if he was lucky enough to have Ron Paul as an opponent. Supporting or voting for Ron Paul might make some feel good in the short term, but in the long term, support for Ron Paul will make Obama stronger.

It is.
Saying he is being dishonest is wrong, because he doesn’t lie about it. He admits he does it and he gives a good reason why.
If a bill came to the floor that took away pork spending, I’m sure he’d vote for it. If he didn’t that would be an integrity issue.
He’s just sending money back to the people who are getting it taken away in the first place.

One thing no one seems to be talking about in this thread is his age. I am a strong supporter, but I will admit that it concerns even me. He would be 77 upon assuming office. Although I realize he is in good health, things can change rather quickly at his age.
I think that means his choice of running mate would be quite important. It is hard to say who he might pick at this point. I could stand behind Gary Johnson, but that is pure speculation. Johnson has also decided to run for president as a Libertarian, so I guess that gues is outlandish. Who knows though, maybe he would even consider a father/son ticket.
Paul is really gaining momentum, but I think his age could ultimitely be a factor. What I wouldn’t give for him to be 15 years younger!

As homosexual Army soldier Bradley Manning’s treason trial continues at Fort Meade, Maryland, the support he has received from Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul has been curiously ignored by the major media, now touting Paul as someone who could win the January 3 Iowa Republican Caucuses. Paul has called Manning, a crossdresser with acknowledged mental problems, a “hero” and “patriot” for stealing government secrets and providing them to WikiLeaks.
Manning, who served as an intelligence analyst in Iraq, is charged with one of the most spectacular and damaging leaks of classified information in this country’s history. The death penalty has been strangely ruled out in his case, but he could still face life in prison.
Admiral Mike Mullen, former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said the “irresponsible posting of stolen classified documents by WikiLeaks puts lives at risk and gives adversaries valuable information.”
However, speaking at a campaign rally, Paul said that while Manning may have “technically” broken the law against releasing classified information to WikiLeaks, he did so for the purpose of exposing the “horrible things” being carried out by the U.S. Government.
Referring to Manning’s detention before trial, Paul said, “Should he be locked up and imprisoned?” Manning should be seen as a “political hero” and “true patriot who reveals what’s going on,” Paul said.
The Bradley Manning Support Network published an article saying that Paul believes that Manning is a “whistleblower” and his actions “are essential to the country.”

It has nothing to do with liberatarianism or foreign policy or the Federal reserve, and everything to do with the character of Ron Paul himself.Some of those people are very anti-Israel. That’s just what I was thinking. Many Paul supporters have to deny ALOT about their man. It would seem that the old cliche is right-where there is this much smoke, there is usually fire.

If you want to support Israel, right them a check. Why are you encouraging the government to take MY money by force and send it to them? I have nothing against Israel, I just have bigger priorities with my money.
It is MY money that is earned. Some people around here act like I should be grateful that the government lets me keep some of the money that I work by brains out for.

Well, no one should argue or act like how your saying-your right, it’s your money and you can should be able to spend it the way you want too.
Having said that, it’s my opinion that the world is a complicated place and sometimes we need to have support our allies and defend our friends against very, very bad people.
Is it perfect? No, of course it isn’t, but I remain confident that in this country-America, it’s as close to perfect as you’ll get in this world.
Just my thoughts.

Islamists consider any land Islam ever conquered, subjugated infidels, and built mosques on to be their holy land. The idea of non-Muslims (or even the wrong sect of Muslims) living free of Islamic subjugation on those lands is an abomination that, according to the fanatics, has to be scrubbed out by any means necessary. Israel certainly qualifies.
