I have to disagree here with your claim that Mosques get burned all around the states every day. Dont you think that this is a bit far fetched? If this were true the Muslim sensitive media here would be on this like stink on a skunk. There may be occassions where there is tension but to embellish your thoughts into an play it as fact is disengenuous.
The mosques here in the US have got to be the most protected buildings in the world besides the Islamic republics in the world. There is literal fear of damaging mosques for fear of reprisals as we have seen in the third world countries.

Mosques here aren’t being burnt either. Even when there was ‘tension’ at Cronulla Beach -following the fact Moslems beat up a couple of life-guards the mosques were safe.
Though the following week there was a riot and some Moslems were beaten up they attacked back and did so not just in Cronulla, but attacked a church about 40km away in a multi-cultural part of Sydney.

I don’t agree that the media are Muslim sensitive.
Did you see any national headlines about the Afghani woman who was shot dead in freemont while walking to pick up her kids?
How about coverage of the man who videotaped himself throwing a pig’s head inside a mosque?
How about the Palestinian students who were beaten by their own football team at a Virginia college?
Lots of incidents go by without much fuss.

I think if we didn’t have a war going on with Muslim terrorists, there would be kinder words said about Muslims.I am often afraid to post on threads discussing topics with Muslims. It makes me very sad see Catholics who I strongly respect getting so angry. It isn’t that I agree with Islam-I’d be Muslim if I did- but I don’t understand why we can’t have mature discussions with one another without getting so angry.Can we just treat one another with common courtesy?
I know it’s unfair to lump all of them into one category like that but it’s human nature.

Why are not these “moderate” moslems marching in the streets screaming “Death to Terrorists!” instead of “Death to America” ? Turn the other cheek?" We have run out of cheeks to turn. Their aim is to subjugate the West and force their false religion upon the Infidel. Don’t you forget it.

I have to agree with you there. When I did my paper on the Patriot Act I researched Americas History to find other instances where people may have been looked at as terrorists. I was not on this planet yet but I found that in the 40’s and 50’s America wasn’t afraid of Arabs, they were afraid of Russians. The FBI could secretly wire-tap, kidnapp and detain anyone they thought was a Communist, without filing any charges against them. Librarians were asked by the government to give them all the records of all the books that were being checked out by anyone with a Russian sounding name, whether they were suspected of a crime or not. School nurses were asked for the records of children with Russian sounding names. Churches that they attended were spied on. It was not fair to group them all together either.

I didn’t either. Sept. 11 put Islam in the limelight and that’s what made me want to find out what made people commit murder and suicide that way. I’d heard of a man called Osama bin Ladin who hated the US and threatened attacks and all that but I’d never paid much attention. Then the unthinkable happened and our eyes were opened.
Now people all over the world are scrutinizing Islam and its teachings. The more I learn about it, the less I like it!

In the 80s I considered becoming Moslem, after becoming dissatisfied with Catholicism.
The little I encountered then struck me as being illogical, for I didn’t understand then how one could claim to both respect a book (as a message from God) and also contradict its message.
I have been a member a Moslem student group at university.
I too became more aware of Islam’s insidious nature after 11th September 2001. However I was aware of a large number of Moslem sources and researched through these and discovered from their own lips, so to speak, many great horrors.

You are missing the point. In the context of prejudice, any targeted group is considered a “race”. Therefore, hatred of Moslems, becuase they are Moslems, is racist. This perspecitve is also properly applied to those who “hate gays” as I heard one young man tell me yesterday. It is racist. But no one would say that gays are a “race” per se.
