the youth in America seem to think that we will finally perfect it?
Because history class has been neglected in America and Of course liberal high school teachers and college professors teaching PC culture and Woke rather than doing their actual jobs.

The way Capitalism works is if you put in hard work and time you reap what you sow. It is suppose to give you the drive to succeed. Wealthy individuals made it there by creating a business or seeing a need and creating something to fill that need. Same thing as someone who obtained a surgical degree or something similar. So because of their hard work they will be over taxed to over 50% of their income? That gives little motivation to drive forward doesnt it?

If you think that’s how capitalism has historically worked, fine. I doubt I can change your mind. But you are not necessarily correct in that estimation.

You realize under oligopoly capitalism part of their wealth comes from public benefits and subsidies both direct and indirect, right? Externalities?
So what? How many millions of people are employed and pay their bills thanks to these really rich capitalist oligarchs? Maybe instead of envying the rich figure out a way to join them and pay the extra taxes if you feel guilty about your wealth. But if you do that you’ll have to explain to your employees why you aren’t giving them a raise this year or paying for the upgrades the company needs to be safer and more efficient or why you aren’t hiring more people.

SQUEEZE THE RICH AND THE POOR FEEL THE PINCH.

In other words you don’t favor a real free market. That’s fine. Just don’t be surprised when the proles in such a system rebel.

Exactly.A bunch of hypocrites .That’s what really galls me,the sanctimonious lectures on c’mon don’t be sore losers, just be gracious…sorry not feeling it

We could model ourselves after the example the left set in 2016 …but then I couldn’t debase myself that far . .

I can though - in the future - vote Democrat if anyone of the Lincoln Project gang is running as a Republican …or if they are seeking funds for a Republican donate to the Democratic candidate 🤔… I think that will be the moment and action their message deserves 🤣🤣🤣🤣

And trust me .if AOC can have her list …I can have one too

Best thing any of us can always do is to pray for each other. if you don’t want to pray for me because I don’t hold all the same opinions you do, then offer some prayers for the souls in purgatory.

What I am pointing out is that the rich employ people and their spending fuels the economy. Has anyone received a job offer from a poor man? Think about it. Taxing the rich just because they are rich isn’t going to help anyone. Just look at California and the results of their progressive socialist policies.

That you would mention rebellion of the proles shows that you hold Marxist beliefs and probably believe in redistribution of wealth. Which is basically just thievery.

Lol so now I’m a Marxist for using a term Orwell used.

If you’re going to support a system of corporate oligopoly with massive state interference in the market to benefit the rich and powerful, don’t call foul when other people attempt to use the same system to benefit themselves.

I try but I feel such anger and humiliation. I live with Biden and Harris fan boys and fan girls. Of course they never cease their taunting. Those jeering smiles and winks while saying BIDEN 👍. I try hard to restrain the anger in me that rises as each day passes by and despite the taunts and jeers. Anger and then apathy. Just not feeling good these days. Sorry… just needed to vent.
There are professionals to talk to about intense anger.

If one doesn’t care to even help the most innocent among us, what can one say?

This is a Catholic forum. Did you join to learn of the faith or to just debate and insult? If it is the latter I don’t understand your need to do so on this thread.

Even the Pope has said abortion doesn’t need to be talked about all the time, my friend.

I’ve been here since 2013.

Just going to leave this here since you brought up Marxism.
Evangelii Gaudium, in which the pontiff warned against ideologies that defend absolute market freedom and financial speculation. This is a straw man: there is not a single nation on the face of the earth that maintains “absolute market freedom,” with no regulation of wages or safety conditions. Nor is there a major political party in any developed country that favors such a system. But Pope Francis appears to harbor a fervent belief in this scarecrow, which he trots out to give rhetorical color and force to his regular endorsements of leftist economics. Faithful Catholics were shocked in July 2015 when Francis, visiting Bolivia and meeting with its far-left president, Evo Morales, was presented with what reporters called a “Communist crucifix” that featured Christ’s body on top of a hammer and sickle. The artwork had been designed by a leftist Bolivian Jesuit who had died in a government crackdown and whom Francis had come to honor.

John Paul II had direct, personal experience of communism. Neither Cardinal Menichelli nor Pope Francis has ever lived under its tyranny—nor in anything like a free economy, either: both Italy’s and Argentina’s economies are prime examples of “crony capitalism,” a system in which powerful private interests use government intervention to shackle the market and fleece consumers through a mishmash of cronyism, subsidies, nepotism, and corruption. Actually, those two countries are so far gone in this direction that it would be more accurate to describe their systems as “crony socialism.” In such a system, entrenched business interests wield populist rhetoric and backroom connections to boost prices and crush competitors—often in collusion with Marxist-controlled labor unions.
