He hasn’t caused global warming, nor islamic terrorism, nor world hunger, nor rampant crime. How do you judge him so severely to think he’s going to ruin the world?

He had a really good press conference last night. He’s already changing his tone to be more diplomatic and presidential. He wants to start unifying the party.
The latter merely demonstrates that he is unfit for the job, being a two-faced hypocrite who wants to have his cake and eat it. The world has already heard all of the insane things he promised his voters during the primaries. It will not warm to him or the prospect of his presidency. Never.

Megan Kelly: Trump sounded presidential in Super Tuesday Press conference:

realclearpolitics.com/video/2016/03/02/megyn_kelly_trump_sounded_presidential_in_super_tuesday_press_conference.html

“holding himself out there, striking a reasonable tone,” Kelly said. “He wasn’t full of the normal bombast, there a few jabs, but sounding presidential which sort of will help some of his detractors see him in a different light perhaps, and focusing most of his on Hillary Clinton.”

“I think it was interesting when he said I’m a unifier,” Kelly observed. “I know it’s hard to believe, but I’m a unifier. Once I get all this finished, I’m going to go after one person. Hillary Rodham Clinton. If she’s allowed to run. But that is the one thing that the Republican party as a whole wants to hear.”

We are talking about a change of tones not on issues or substance. **He’s both a savvy street fighter and one who is able to make peace. ** **He is both tough and flexible. **You know that in real life everyone has different sides to their persona. Depending on the situation you adapt and use a different style of approach.

I never heard the victory speech, so I cannot comment, I was only going by what was said in the above.

The fact remains, Trump has appalled and offended people worldwide. Women. Disabled people. Muslims. Mexicans. The Pope. The list is endless. The news coverage of him has been constant in the UK, so much so that a bill had to be put to parliament (as I said) by POPULAR DEMAND to have him banned from the country. People simply hate him. We know him from of old: he was well-known as a businessman in Britain, building “luxury golf courses” in Scotland.

He cannot deliver one soft speech after such an illustrious career of sheer infamy and expect to be forgiven, or worse still viewed as a true statesman abroad. We know who the Donald is and what he stands for. And its vile.

Do you mean that after Trump has severed the Republican Party, he then wants to unify it?

No I don’t mean that. I mean after the fights he has had to go through in order to win the nomination, he’ll emerge as a unifier and bring the party together to fight Hillary and win back the country.

Some flexibility is good and necessary in politics but so is a consistent vision and core principles, which I am not sure Trump has.

I agree some people feel offended by Trump. There is also the fact, however, that many of our perceptions are unconsciously formed by the media in the way they present the news. Is Trump too crass sometimes? you bet! However he’s a good person at heart and has done many good things. Most important, he’s capable of leading the country to economic and overall strength. He has a lot of common sense.

How do you see the likes of Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney and the rest of the bruised establishment wholeheartedly endorsing a far-right populist who isn’t even an economic conservative?

To try and beat Hilary rather than stick to their principles, maybe some of them will sell their souls to the devil but I have watched BBC reports in which lifelong Republicans have stated that they will either abstain from voting, vote for a third candidate or do the unimaginable and vote for Clinton to avoid backing the Donald. It is recorded. There is a campaign on twitter right now among leading Republicans under a hashtag of “never” supporting Trump. Because he ISN’T a conservative. Plain and simple. He is a far-right populist.

There are essentially 3 main political parties in the U.S. now: (1) the Democrats, (2) the GOP establishment/true conservatives and (3) Trump populists.

The divide between the latter two will only widen in future. If it isn’t a passing fad or phenomenon, then a new constituency has gradually emerged which isn’t actually conservative in nature but far-right authoritarian-statist: looking for security and order by attacking and excluding the “other” under the benevolent guidance of an all-powerful strongman. It is always a bad sign for any democracy when such a constituency emerges among the public.

Small-government conservatism has very little in common with far-right authoritarianism, which is basically want Trumpism is. That will only become clearer with time. The GOP has allowed itself to be hijacked by a raving madman who has mass grassroots appeal. It is like something out of a nightmare.

He also continued to say, planned parenthood shouldn’t be funded as long as they do abortions.

That’s an important part of what he said.
Pap smears, breast exams etc. can be provided at Federally Qualified Health Centres. There are many thousands more FQHC sites than there are Planned Parenthood clinics (see a state by state comparison here). Donald Trump should say he would defund Planned parenthood AND transfer the money over to other non-Planned Parenthood clinics that provide health care services. He should say that there are non Planned Parenthood clinics that can provide health care for women, men and children, for those on a low income.

Instead of Trump making a continual trend of talking up the “wonderful” things Planned Parenthood provides, he could be making the case for FQHCs.

The continual comments regarding the “wonderful” things Parenthood provide is a disturbing trend. How can this be coming out of the mouth of a leading Republican candidate?

Since Trump is not so interested in social issues such as abortion, gay marriage, and the like, it may be he is not even aware of these other health services for people who cannot afford the high cost of medical care.

Who a few rare birds?

Whats the establishment? Define it where we all agree. Is Ted Cruz establishment?
Trump populists.
This is simply name calling and rhetoric which is rampant on this thread and makes as much sense as the absurd comment the UK will ban Trump. Laughable. But do bang on we want to hear it all.

It is only absurd to those who have their head in the sand:

nanonews.org/british-parliament-begins-debating-measure-that-would-ban/
**British parliament begins debating measure that would ban Donald Trump from UK
The proposal made its way to parliament after more than 500,000 United Kingdom residents signed an online petition calling for Trump to be barred from the country** for his “hate speech” calling for a temporary ban on Muslims entering the U.S. Under British law, any petition supported by 100,000 people — who must each provide and confirm an email address — is considered for parliamentary debate.
Whether or not this actually happens is beside the point. I don’t believe he will be banned because it would infringe our belief in freedom of movement and expression. However it actually got to parliament by popular outrage and that’s the key point. This has NEVER happened with a US presidential candidate before. EVER.

Practically our entire political class with broad public support in the UK, left and right, has condemned Trump at some point, including our Prime Minister David Cameron. And we’re your country’s main “ally”.

The fact that such an extreme measure is even being considered in the “mother of parliaments” is a sign of the unbelievable things going down in the U.S. right now.

He may or may not be interested in them, but that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t actually sign a bill to defund Planned Parenthood if it came to him.

If he is the nominee, I really hope he has a strong Pro-Lifer as VP.

Call us when he’s banned we heard the nonsense for months, the Kingdom ought be concerned with their own issues. Further we get it the conservatives have blown an emotional gasket. Thats their own problem they ignored for months thinking Trump would magically go away. Fact is the Republican party turned out in record numbers and its absurd to think the emotional basketcases will dictate anything with this election. Not gonna happen as clearly seen last night.

Keep it up, the fact that the UK and Europe don’t like him is starting to be appealing. And I don’t even like Trump.

Great, that is also very prudent and productive. Sticking two fingers up to everyone else in the world, including one’s own allies may seem like a fun thing to do but such isolationist tendencies don’t tend to work well in a globalised world. America does have neighbours like Mexico. It does have allies. It does have essential trade interests around the world. It is the world’s most powerful country by GDP and in military terms. If Americans want to hand the keys to the White House to a playground bully with a lewd past and foul mouth, so be it. But a price will be paid

No-one is listening to all that emotional nonsense, its all over the media and old news. Theres not one better than the other with the drama and it hasn’t changed a darn thing but increase Trump support. And like I said, as depressing as it is the Catholic boy isn’t gonna make it, we are all still voting Republican. Really all there is to it, watch! 😉

And Trump isn’t all about emotional nonsense? That is what he relies on for support: he appeals to the heart, not the head. He is a true demagogue if there ever was one. Just consider his ridiculous tax policy (if I can even call it policy), with all the numerous holes. Yet no one seems to care. They just like the fiery rhetoric.

As I said earlier, fine. Sink the ship if you want too. I’m done discussing the issue, I suppose I can only watch in quiet dismay, pray to God and ask for the intercession of his saints, especially His Blessed Mother, and hope that he has mercy on the U.S. electorate when the big moment comes.

Other countries are taking their shots at the U.S. because Obama set us up for it. Its going to come to an abrupt halt soon I pray. These cheap shots weaken the strong alliances we have come to appreciate and depend on as good neighbors. Its past due time to stand up for America!
