That is your opinion. The Holy Father has a different one. More to the point, he understands the word “duty”. His duty is to God. So unless one is God, there is no knowledge, authority or criteria to just the “duty” of the Pope, at least that is my opinion.

Perhaps since you can’t speak as God, you could show where this duty lies in canon law?

I do not know what this means. You do know that the Pope called two family synods just for the purpose of discussion, do you not? How can it be denied that he has invited discussion?
Discussion? Ha! More like conniving and manipulation.

Pope Francis is “boiling with rage” over formal criticism of Amoris Laetitia from four cardinals, according to a Vatican insider.

The National Catholic Register’s Edward Pentin told EWTN’s The World Over Live that “sources within Santa Marta” say “that the Pope is not happy at all” and is “boiling with rage.”

“I do understand from sources within Santa Marta that the pope is not happy at all,” said Pentin. “In fact, he’s…boiling with rage. He’s really not happy at all with this.”

The pope’s rage is reportedly over a dubia, or formal request, from four cardinals that he clarify whether his controversial exhortation is at odds with Catholic moral teaching. Pope Francis didn’t respond for two months, so the cardinals went public with their concern.

Now, in a new interview with Avvenire, Pope Francis is rebuking the “legalism” of Amoris Laetitia critics.

Pope Francis Decides Not to Hold Pre-Consistory Meeting of Cardinals

Vaticanist claims it is because more cardinals were planning on resubmitting “doubts” over his exhortation on the family, ‘Amoris Laetitia’, at the meeting. The Vatican is not commenting.

The pope’s rage is reportedly…
Proverbs 20:19 He who goes about as a slanderer reveals secrets, Therefore do not associate with a gossip.

Proverbs 6:16 - There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.

2 Corinthians 12:20 - For I am afraid that when I come I may not find you as I want you to be, and you may not find me as you want me to be. I fear that there may be discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, slander, gossip, arrogance and disorder.

I posted this earlier:

“It was suggested in earlier posts that the denial of communion for the divorced and remarried (not living as brother and sister) was mere “practice” or discipline. That seemed worth considering, but then I noticed that JP II said that the Church, in adopting its practices (on this issue) professes “her fidelity to Christ and to His truth” - which is to say therefore that such was at stake. That suggests he saw it as a deeper question than mere discipline. At the very least, one would thing that a change of practice might be accompanied by a rationale as to why the new practice maintains that fidelity.”

(1) How do others interpret the significance of that statement by JP II? [Familiaris Consortio 84]

(2) Do you believe it likely that JP II might have said the same of the new practice? Which is to say that, absent a process of discernment, JP II’s position must stand. And with a process of discernment, the priest can judge (criteria unknown, but seemingly subjective) who needs to live as brother and sister and who does not - if communion is to be received.

You believe Pope Francis to be conniving and manipulative?

According to the knowledge, competence, and prestige which they possess, [the Catholic faithful] have the right and even at times the duty to manifest to the sacred pastors their opinion on matters which pertain to the good of the Church and to make their opinion known to the rest of the Christian faithful…
