“leads to early death”?

ha

Eating beef and drinking alcohol and working in the sun leads to early death in the same way that being gay does.
Have you heard of AIDS? There are numerous studies proving gay men lead shorter lives. Sodomy is not healthy and without getting into the graphic details, not what our bodies were designed for.

Again, logical fallacies abound in the gay defence. You forgot to mention smoking.

Who is deniying their equal rights? They have the right to live, eat, work, religion, that is the basic right of a human being. I told you that all the things I said can be found in the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
Are these the only rights that you recognize? Are you in disagreement with the US Constitution?

No

I have never heard of AIDS

Do all gays have AIDS? Lesbians, too?

How do you know that it is? I base my statement on Church teaching. If you are a practicing Catholic then sodomy is not something you practice as well. The Church states that it is a 'sin that cries out to Heaven". The Bible isn’t too keen on it either. Have you heard of Sodom and Gomorah?

Nature proves sodomy to be against order and health too. Homosexuality is not self sustaining, leads to early death, and is therefore contrary to the public good.

If you or a close family member is gay then my heart and prayers go out to you. The Church wants you to practice a chaste lifestyle, offer your daily frustrations to God one day join him in Heaven. There are more productive things you can do with your time and talents then to make anti-Catholic posts in a Catholic chatroom.
Larkin31 posted the reference to the fact most people have tried oral, if not anal sex, with the latter at 40%. Catholics are not exempt. As to the bible, I suggest you check out Ephesians 6:5 and let me know if slaves should obey their masters.

Cigaret smoking leads to death for 1/3 of all smokers. Lack of healthcare for gay partners leads to death, etc etc. And it’s their choice. It’s none of your business.

And if you’re a Catholic bigot, my heart goes out to you. I want the Church to life a non-bigoted lifestyle. And it’s hardly anti-Catholic to show that bigotry has been part of your history. I noticed you haven’t discussed a single point other than to moan that it’s anti-Catholic.

Does this mean that those who practice oral sex are not good Catholics? I can’t quite tell the extent of what you are claiming here, and I am curious. Is this the standard Catholic position on this matter of sexuality: that certain very common sexual activities, even between a married couple, are forbidden?
The Church teaches sodomy is a sin. Look it up.

You are right and she requires all of us to be chaste unless we are married man and woman.

For answers to these I recommend reading Theology of the Body, sexuality bewteen a married couple (man-woman) is not sinful, but outside of matromony is.

“A great purification will come upon the world preceded by an ‘illumination of conscience’
in which everyone will see themselves as God sees them.”

—Blessed Anna Maria Taigi (d. 1836)

That day has not yet occurred. One thing is for sure, no one is gonna miss it.

The Church teaches sodomy is a sin. Look it up.
I know this much, but I was not asking this. I was asking, since you suggested it, that non-reproductive sex, even in a married couple, disqualifies one as a Catholic. Is this what you mean? Does Catholic teaching state this?

It’s not surprising you have resorted to insults and you’ve yet to provide a decent argument. I am not responding to all your accusations as they don’t deserve it. The Catholic Church does not condone sodomy and you are not going to change that. So what’s your motivation here?

Is this a book? Or a Vatican document? I have never heard of it.

It’s irrelevant. The subject is sodomy, homosexuality and Church teaching.

Yes, by Pope John Paul II. There’s this thing on the Internet now called Google. Everything you’ve asked here is available there.

You keep bringing things up that don’t involve the topic

Cigaret smoking leads to death for 1/3 of all smokers. Lack of healthcare for gay partners leads to death, etc etc. And it’s their choice. It’s none of your business. Again this is more politcal, but promotica gay acts is a sin, and Church will not change her way not matter how you feel about it

Sounds to me like the hypocracy of tolerance you preach. **

What’s yours?

It is a discussion thread about the presence of a Catholic priest in a Gay Pride parade. Can people come here and say that his presence was ok by them, or not? Why do non-Catholics get questioned here about sinister motivations when the thread is CLEARLY controversial and polarizing?

Yes, by Pope John Paul II. There’s this thing on the Internet now called Google. Everything you’ve asked here is available there.
I asked a sincere question for information. Why are you so smarmy?

It’s irrelevant. The subject is sodomy, homosexuality and Church teaching.
The subject is the presence of a priest at a parade.

If you do not wish to answer my question, that is fine.

I guess you don’t realize this was a parody of someone else’s post. If this was an ‘insult’, then it seems you excuse insults as long as they’re hurled by Catholics.

I don’t care if it doesn’t ‘condone sodomy’. What I DO care about are its ugly teachings and their effects on society. It’s no surprise you can’t handle the arguments and retreat into dogma. As to ‘changing’ it, the Church has changed its position on many issues where it used to preach hatred. This is just another.

My motivation is to have Catholics who support this bigotry at least accept it AS bigotry. If you’re going to be a bigot, OWN that fact. Face it. You’re a bigot. Admit it and be done with it.

Exactly. So why bring up irrelevant distractions.

The bottom line is the Catholic Church teaches sodomy is a sin. Gay marriage is also forbidden. If you don’t like that then don’t join or stay with the Church. It would be better if you accepted Church teaching and pursued a holy life with Heaven being your ultimate goal.

Their bulletin clearly mentions that many people find their way back to “a return to the
the sacraments.”

Any knowledgeable Catholic would or should find that statement “compelling.”
What does anyone do when they go to the sacraments?
So many stay away these days. So what’s the attraction here? And who can say
what is the motive of each soul?

Non-Catholics would have no experience in this area, due to the sacramental encounter with Jesus Christ. It has to be experienced one on one with the priest.
Quite a unique quality. So what is the desire of the returnees?

Ah, so when the church is growing, then sin is not sin. Funny how homosexuality was a sin then, but not slavery…because the church was ‘growing’.

Yeah they used to say that about Jews and Christians marrying, too. See the 4th Lateran Council of 1215.

I didn’t say all Catholics were bigots; merely those who wish to deny equal rights to gays because they are gay.
