I can see scripture study is not a big part of the lives of many of the writers here. If it were they would realize not only is it OK to challenge the status quo. It is required. That’s what Jesus did. He realized it was not OK to marginalize women. He made women a big part of his ministry. If you read Acts you will see that many of the early house church leaders were women. Why should women not be priests? Please don’t tell me none of the apostles were women - They were all Jews too - want to get rid of non Jewish priests? As Paul says - those who follow Jesus the annointed One (Christ) are a new creation - neither male nor female, slave or free - Jew or Gentile.
Because the Vicar of Christ on Earth, the Successor to Saint Peter, has infallibly taught that the Church doesn’t have the authority to ordain women. He taught in such a way as to “remove all doubt” and invoked his authority as the one whose task it was to “confirm the brethren,” ie, the one who holds the power to bind and loose. Women will never be ordained to the priesthood of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. I guess I’m just amazed as to why these women don’t convert to the various Protestant communities that ordain women, such as the Anglican Church.

If you want to study the scriptures on this, consider I Timothy 2:11-12. That was also written by St. Paul

Recognizing women to be different than men doesn’t make us second class citizens. Sin makes that happen. Jesus came to save us from sin, not to make women into men. Back in the begining He made us male and female. If He had wanted us to be the same, He could have made us the same.
God created man in his image; in the divine image he created him; male and female he created them. Genesis 1:27

I believe he was speaking of our human dignity and status before God, not our roles in this world. My understanding is that the verbal teaching of the early church (the Tradition) was that only men could have the role of priests. This has absolutely nothing to do with personal worth or any other office men or women might be interested in.

It seems to me that if men don’t want the calling, it’s unlikely that many women would want it either. That said, the Church will never allow women to be ordained and it’s fine with me.

If agreeing that women should not be ordained makes me sexist, than it is a title I will proudly bear. I will be faithful to Christ and to His Church.

It will happen

It will take a while but one day we will look upon the ban of women the way we look at Gregory XVI’s politics

THEY DON’T GET IT. So smart, yet can’t see beyond the nose on their faces.

Ciao,

Since this is an infallible teaching of the Church, wouldn’t pressing the issue be considered heresy?

from 1 Cor 14:33-35:
As in all the churches of the holy ones, women should keep silent in the churches, for they are not allowed to speak, but should be subordinate, as even the law says. But if they want to learn anything, they should ask their husbands at home. For it is improper for a woman to speak in the church.
Oops, is that one of those parts of the Bible we were supposed to edit out? I would think so; it isn’t politically correct.

I wonder, too, how about transgendered persons, who are truly males but used to be trapped in female bodies?

Superpope and prophet Steve Andersen has spoken, I guess we will all just shut up.

btw, it is not a ban on women, it is an upholding of the integrity of the Sacrament. It will no more happen than the matter of the Eucharist will be changed to orange juice and an eggroll.

You are in direct opposition to the Church:

Wherefore, in order that all doubt may be removed regarding a matter of great importance, a matter which pertains to the Church’s divine constitution itself, in virtue of my ministry of confirming the brethren (cf. Lk 22:32) I declare that the Church has no authority whatsoever to confer priestly ordination on women and that this judgment is to be definitively held by all the Church’s faithful.

Doctrinal issues have NEVER EVER EVER EVER changed.

I never claimed to be either
Just a layman’s guess…I’ve been wrong before
It would be interesting, however, to visit this forum in 2205 to see what they are saying

And no, you shouldn’t shut up
I’m a big boy
I enjoy hearing from others

I don’t recall there being a ban on talking about an issue

It would perhaps be heresy to claim that the Church is right now ordaining women or that a particular woman is in fact ordained
But just talking about it?

Read Ordinatio Sacerdotalis, discussion on women ordination is closed. And no longer a church issue.

 OK - I am a Catholic woman and I do not find it insulting, demeaning, or unfair that women are not ordained priests. Funny, although I’m sure some exist, I don’t know of any Catholic women who think women should be ordained priests. The whole issue is absurd. It’s not up to us to make the rules - they’ve already been made - by God!! It’s not for us to question them, just to obediently follow them.

So, if “Catholic Women Still Press for Ordination”, maybe they should press for it in another faith.

Women should not be ordained!! :nope:
